Abstract: Financial management skills and financial literacy are something that
every individual needs. Financial literacy aims to ensure that individuals can
understand how to use and manage money well, and can make wise decisions in
using money. In Indonesia, the cultivation of financial literacy is still not fairly
evenly distributed overall, whereas the 5th principle in Pancasila means that all
Indonesian people have the right to receive equal and equal rights, including
financial literacy education. Students are one of the individuals who can be said to
lack the skills to manage finances well and are also agents of change for Indonesia
who can make financial literacy evenly distributed among society. In this research,
the researcher aims to find out what factors prevent students from being able to
manage their finances well, the lack of financial literacy in Indonesia, as well as the
impact and prevention that can be taken to deal with this. Researchers used
qualitative research methods by distributing questionnaires, using Purposive
Sampling techniques as research data. The research results show that financial
literacy is not yet fully distributed and education is needed for students in particular
to be able to change Indonesia's future. Simple financial applications are a form of
prevention and application that can educate students and all Indonesian people
about financial literacy.
