Kesimpulan There is a linear, positive and strong relationship between HOTS and the GPA of students.
Students with high level of HOTS are expected to succeed in their next study in study program
of mathematics education. Students who have high HOTS tend to get high GPA in
mathematics instruction, whereas those with low HOTS tend to have low GPA. Therefore, the
value of HOTS can be used as an indicator in the selection of new students.
Peneliti mengusulkan untuk menyediakan buku teks yang mendorong hal tersebut sejak
tingkat SD dan SMP. Perlu adanya dukungan bagi siswa untuk melatih mereka berpikir kritis
dan kreatif melalui jenis-jenis contoh dan latihan soal yang disediakan dalam bentuk open-
ended tests.

Novelty Menjadi salah satu pioneer penelitian yang memberikan gambaran tentang korelasi antara

Tujuan Penelitian to explore how play skills are related to mathematical skills in toddlers by examining the
correlations between different kinds of play skills and mathematical skills, and how level of
play skills is related to mathematical skills
Subjek Penelitian 1088 toddlers (532 girls, 556 boys) in Norwegian Early Childhood and Care institutions who
were observed by the staff in 3-month periods beginning when they were 2½ years old
Metode Penelitian A part of longitudinal research
The children’s skills in mathematics were assessed using
the observation material MIO (Davidsen et al. 2008). ALLE
MED (Everyone Included; Løge et al. 2015) was used to
assess the children’s play skills
Hasil Penelitian The skills Interaction in Play and Independence in Play displayed the strongest correlations
with mathematical skills.
Rule-based Play was difficult for the toddlers, whereas Pretend Play and Exploring and
Construction Play correlated with mathematical skills and may be types of play that are
more suitable when introducing mathematics in toddler groups.
When the group of toddlers was divided into three subgroups according to their level of play
skills, the level of play skills was strongly related to the level of mathematical skills. Toddlers
with weak, middle or strong play skills also exhibited corresponding low, medium or high
levels of mathematics skills, which emphasises the importance of understanding the
relations between play and mathematical learning when working with toddlers.
Kekuatan Penelitian The large sample size makes the results more generalizable than studies of smaller samples.
Kelemahan Penelitian  The large number of people collecting the data.
 The present study is unable to establish conclusions about causality, and more
research is needed to determine how different kinds of play skills that develop at
an early age predict mathematical skills at older ages.
 More comprehensive studies are needed to follow the children’s play skills and
determine how they correlate with different types of mathematical skills.
Novelty The study contribute with new knowledge about the relations between play skills and
mathematical skills in toddlers.

Kelemahan Penelitian The TCT-DP, although regarded as a generic, holistic measure of creativity, does not fully
capture the complex multidimensional nature of creativity as it is defined nowadays

Novelty The present study provides important first ideas on the possible involvement of creativity in
mathematics that may inspire new research and curriculum development.

to make an effective prediction regarding the students’ success in graduate
Tujuan Penelitian education with Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) which is used as an effective
prediction method in various sectors, as an alternative to traditional methods in the
field of education
Subjek Penelitian The study collected the grade information of students who graduated from the Department of
Mathematics Education. Grade information was recorded for 220 students in total.
Metode Penelitian the usage of the BPNN model as a decision-making tool to predict learning effect for
students of Elementary Mathematics Teaching students.
Hasil Penelitian Analytical results demonstrate that the BPNN model offers relatively accurate predictions for
the student success in graduate education with a high average of accuracy (Neural Network1
is 77.125% and Neural Network2 is 68.5%). Another finding is that there is no significant
correlation between the graduate average scores of candidates who qualified for a graduate
education and their ALES scores. These results indicate that BPNN is a suitable tool to
predict the academic success of all education majors. Student career advisors can use the
ANN model to identify the students who have particular potential for graduate education, and
this prediction model can help these students adjust their own teaching strategies, and provide
guidance and support for their careers.

Novelty there have been no studies, at least in Turkey, in order to make an effective
prediction regarding the students’ success in graduate education with Artificial
Neural Networks (ANN).

To investigate self-regulated learning skills as a predictor of students’ achievement

Subjek Penelitian The subjects were 882 SSII students from the secondary schools in Owerri
Education Zone of Imo State
Metode Penelitian prediction-design research of correlational type
Hasil Penelitian The results of the study revealed that self-regulated learning skill predicts 6.0% and
4.3% respectively to the variance observed in high and low achieving students in
mathematics. This prediction is significant as attested to by the regression analysis
carried out (p < 0.05).

Kelemahan Penelitian

Novelty One sees that the issues of ability level has not yet been resolved particularly in relation to
students’ self-regulated learning. In the context of this study, Ofonime (2007) was adopted
and classified ability levels; 0-49% as low achievers while 65-100% as high achievers without
considering average achievers. Hence this study is poised to find out the extent to which
self-regulated learning skill predict students’ achievement in mathematics focusing on
ability levels.
