Application Letter
• Definition
An application letter or job application
letter is an official letter written to apply
for a job. This job application letter
contains the applicant's background and
interest in the job being offered.
(Surat lamaran atau surat lamaran kerja
merupakan surat resmi yang ditulis untuk
melamar suatu pekerjaan. Surat lamaran
kerja ini memuat latar belakang dan
minat pelamar terhadap pekerjaan yang
ditawarkan).
A job application letter is a letter written and sent by
someone who wants to work in an office, company, or certain
agency.
Job application letters are included in the formal letter
category. Therefore, there are certain rules that must be
considered when writing it.
Surat lamaran pekerjaan adalah surat yang dibuat dan
dikirimkan oleh seseorang yang ingin bekerja di sebuah kantor,
perusahaan ataupun instansi tertentu.
Surat lamaran kerja termasuk dalam kategori surat formal.
Oleh karena itu, ada aturan tertentu yang harus diperhatikan
saat menulisnya.

you and note how you will follow up. (Ucapkan terima
kasih kepada manajer perekrutan karena telah
mempertimbangkan Anda dan catat bagaimana Anda
akan menindaklanjutinya)

How to write a good and correct job application letter
(Cara menulis surat lamaran kerja yang baik dan benar)

1. Use good and correct language. Use formal language because a job
application letter is an official letter. Don't use inappropriate
language in making an official letter. (Gunakan bahasa yang baik
dan benar. Gunakan bahasa formal karena surat lamaran kerja
merupakan surat resmi. Jangan menggunakan bahasa yang tidak
pantas dalam membuat surat resmi).

2. Write short, concise and clear sentences. Don't be long-winded


when writing a cover letter because a cover letter can show a
person's identity and an agency or company doesn't like long-
winded cover letters. (Tulislah kalimat yang singkat, padat dan
jelas. Jangan bertele-tele dalam menulis surat lamaran karena
surat lamaran dapat menunjukkan identitas seseorang dan suatu
instansi atau perusahaan tidak menyukai surat lamaran yang
bertele-tele).
3. Write manually by hand. Companies prefer writing job application
letters manually because handwriting can assess how someone's
personality is. (Menulis secara manual dengan tangan.
(Perusahaan lebih memilih menulis surat lamaran kerja secara
manual karena tulisan tangan dapat menilai bagaimana
kepribadian seseorang).
4. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the job application letter. Don't
leave any scribbles or eraser marks in your job application letter. If
you write something wrong, it's better to rewrite it on the new
paper, don't use a stipo to erase. (Perhatikan kebersihan surat
lamaran kerja. Jangan meninggalkan coretan atau tanda
penghapus pada surat lamaran kerja Anda. Kalau salah tulis
mending ditulis ulang di kertas baru, jangan pakai stipo untuk
menghapus).
5. Fill in your personal data and information about yourself
clearly, and attach supporting documents such as a
curriculum vitae, photocopy of your identity and other
required documents. (Isi data diri dan informasi tentang
diri Anda dengan jelas, serta lampirkan dokumen
pendukung seperti curriculum vitae, fotokopi identitas
diri dan dokumen lain yang diperlukan).
6. If you have a supporting certificate that can add plus
value to you, don't hesitate to attach it. (Jika Anda
mempunyai sertifikat pendukung yang dapat menambah
nilai plus bagi Anda, jangan ragu untuk melampirkannya).
