ABSTRACT
A wave can be described as a disturbance that travels through a medium from one location to another
location. Seismic waves are waves of energy that travel through the Earth's layers or on the surface of
the earth resulted by quake or explosion. Seismic wave fields are recorded by a seismometer or
seismograph. A seismogram is a graph output by a seismograph. The waves which can be easily
recorded in seismogram are longitudinal type body waves (P), and Transversal type (S) as well as its
reflection and transmission. By analyzing seismogram, we can detect the arrival time of seismic
source, angle, direction, and depth of earthquake waves. Seismic waves move with ball-like direction
inside 3-D field. For that purpose, a seismograph which can record movement component in vertical
and horizontal direction was made. Vertical movement is recorded in vertical component/UD,
horizontal movement is recorded in horizontal component N-S and E-W. In this report we will make
models of seismic phase in the earth and analyze seismograms recorded from different stations on
different days.
