SUPPORT ROLE – SUPPORTING STATIONS
Overview
Deployment of support roles enables planted baristas to remain in their stations, connecting with customers and producing
beverages and products in routine. The goal of support roles is to reduce motion and balance the work across the team. This
enables the team to keep pace with customer orders and consistently create the Starbucks Experience for partners and
customers. Baristas assigned to the support role, support differently at each station:
• Say thank you and show appreciation to customers as they leave the
store. Our Drive Thru customers should feel just as special and cared
for as our café customers.

Only established items to support Station Restocks should be stored
in the Station Restock Inventory
• Established for all production stations (e.g., Espresso, cold
beverage, warming, etc.). List of items
and pars
• Established near production stations.
2. Set in Order
• Designate storage for established par levels andstore
like items together.
• Identify flex space for items that may run out between Station
Restocks.
3. Shine
Ensure shelving is free of debris and regularly cleaned as part of
the store’s Duty Roster system.

5. Sustain Syrups
Post the completed worksheet out of customer view but in a
location visible to baristas. Plan to review regularly for

Overview
Use this guide to establish a Replenishment Cadence for weekdays and weekend days based on forecasted customer demand to ensure the right product is available at
the right time to create the Starbucks Experience. Every store is unique, make adjustments to the Replenishment Cadence as needed to meet the needs of customers and
the business.

Maracaturra Varietal
• There are hundreds of subspecies of arabica coffee called
varietals. Each varietal possesses unique qualities when it
comes to flavor, size, color, productivity and resistance to
diseases.
• The maracaturra varietal is known as a hybrid varietal. It’s a
cross between Caturra, (a varietal known for its
productivity) and
•
maragogipe (a coffee nicknamed elephant-beans because of
the large size of its beans).
Farmers must invest extra time and resources into
growing
maracaturra coffee because it is a very susceptible to coffee
leaf rust disease (roya). The productivity of maracaturra is
lower than most plants so small yields can be an additional
challenge for farmers. Although the cultivation is challenging,
the complex cup profile is a fitting reward.
