1. How would you explain the difference between a cover letter and a CV?
Surat lamaran pekerjaan adalah surat dari seorang yang memerlukan pekerjaan (pelamar) kepada orang
atau pejabat suatu organisasi/lembaga yang dapat memberikan pekerjaan atau jabatan. Surat lamaran
pekerjaan dapat juga didefinisikan sebagai surat dari calon karyawan kepada calon pimpinan yang berisi
permintaan agar calon karyawan diberi pekerjaan. Pada umumnya seorang yang memerlukan pekerjaan
akan mengajukan lamaran setelah ia memperoleh informasi tentang lowongan biasanya diperoleh dari
teman, kenalan, atau melalui iklan koran, internet dan media massa lainnya.
Sedangkan curriculum vitae adalah daftar riwayat hidup yang berisi data dan informasi yang diperlukan
untuk melamar pekerjaan. Dalam curriculum vitae atau CV terdapat informasi seperti pendidikan, keahlian,
biodata, dan riwayat pekerjaan lainnya.

2. Why are CVs important for job seekers and what information should a job applicant include in a
CV?
Berikut alasan yang menunjukkan pentingnya CV dalam proses melamar pekerjaan :
1. Sebelum pihak perusahaan memanggil untuk interview biasanya mereka akan melihat CV terlebih
dahulu. Pihak perusahaan akan melihat dan menilai kepribadian pelamar dari lembaran kertas
yang berisi riwayat hidup tersebut. Secara tidak langsung, CV akan memberikan kesan pertama
pelamar kepada para rekruiter.
2. Saat masuk ke dunia kerja tentu pelamar sudah harus bersikap profesional, karena hal itulah yang
dibutuhkan. Maka dari itu perlu menunjukan profesionalitas sejak awal. Profesionalitas sejak awal
dimulai dari keseriusan dalam menyusun dokumen riwayat hidup. Melalui pembuatan CV pelamar
dapat menjadi orang yang profesional dengan memperhatikan riwayat kehidupan anda.
3. Dalam membuat CV yang menarik perhatian, ada banyak sekali triknya. Salah satu caranya
adalah dengan mendesain CV anda dengan menarik dan berbeda dari yang lain, namun tetap
terlihat profesional. Sehingga CV tersebut menarik perhatian.
4. Di dalam CV pelamar dapat menonjolkan kemampuan mereka. Pelamar dapat menuliskan
beberapa kemampuan mereka dalam CV.
Beberapa informasi yang harus disertakan dalam penulisan Curriculum vitae
1. Informasi pribadi yang berisi identitas diri
2. Deskripsi singkat , menonjolkan kemampuan yang dikuasai sesuai dengan posisi yang dilamar.
Pada bagian ini merupakan kesempatan bagi pelamar untuk mempromosikan diri.
3. Mencantumkan latar belakang pendidikan serta riwayat telah mengikuti berbagai pelatihan .
 4. Mencantumkan pengalaman kerja yang nantinya akan menambah poin plus. Serta menambahkan
beberapa pengalaman organisasi, magang, atau pekerjaan yang relevan yang ingin dilamar.
5. Mencantumkan berbagai keahlian seperti mempunyai keterampilan komputer atau menguasai
bahasa asing.
