I will review a film called 20th Century Girl. This film has the theme of a sentimental romantic comedy set in a 90s film that offers audiences a sweet nostalgia. This film follows a 17-year-old high school girl who navigates her life changing first love and the complexities of friendship between teenage girls. Synopsis 20th Century Girl. The story begins when Na Bo Ra (Kim Yoo Jung), a 17-year-old teenager, says goodbye to her best friend Yeon Doo (Roh Yoon Seo), who has to go to the United States (US) for a serious heart operation. When they parted ways, Yeon Doo asked Bo Ra to find information about a young boy from their high school, whom he met while looking after his mother's shop, named Baek Hyun Jin (Park Jung Woo). As a friend, Bo Ra agrees to Yeon Doo's request and uses creative and sometimes ridiculous tactics to investigate Hyun Jin. Diligently, the video rental owner's daughter emails everything she finds, from her shoe size, to her favorite drink, to the home address of the man Yeon Doo has a crush on. In between her investigations, Bo Ra realizes that, for the first time in her life, she has fallen in love with a Poong Woon Ho (Byeon Woo Seok), a close friend of Hyun Jin. When Yeon Doo finally returns, Bo Ra unexpectedly has to deal with the complicated love triangle and friendship that awaits. Have you ever had a crush on someone who turns out to be crush on our best friend? If Na Bo-Ra has, of course there will be a dilemma. Want to choose a crush or choose a friend. For Na Bo-Ra, friendship is everything. When Baek Hyun-Jin expressed his feelings for Na Bo-Ra, he immediately rejected it without thinking. Yeon Doo is the main one for Na Bo-Ra. Because Na Bo-Ra knows that her best friend is in love with Baek Hyun-Jin, she makes sure not to accept Baek Hyun-Jin's feelings and chooses to be friends with him. Yeon Doo shows the photo that Na Bo-Ra sent him via mail. Yeon Doo always carries this photo because in the photo there are Na Bo-Ra, Poong Woon-Ho and Baek Hyun-Jin. Yeon Doo points out that he drew a heart on the face of his first love, Baek Hyun-Jin, according to him. But it's not Baek Hyun-Jin, it's Poong Woon-Ho, the guy Na Bo-Ra likes. Kim Yoo Jung delivers convincing and likable acting as Bo Ra, who in many seemingly ordinary moments feels heartbreaking at times. If described, the plot of the story '20th Century Girl' has the sensation of eating strawberries that taste sour and sweet. The scenes in this film are quite complete, there are those that make you laugh, cry, get annoyed, and even get excited. The hope is that all the spectacles end beautifully. At least if you're not engaged, get married. But alas, after giving the news and promising to enter the campus as well as the same college major, Poong Woon-Ho never returned. His promise was never realized until recently when Na Bo-Ra was an adult. After briefly remembering Poong Woon-Ho, Na Bo-Ra then gets an invitation to a big exhibition. He came with enthusiasm. It turned out that the exhibition was showing work that he was so familiar with. In the footage playing on the big screen, he sees footage of the old house of Poong Woon-Ho, where he was picking plums at that time. Beautiful work, stunning and evoke memories. Until the end of the show, he read the writing that was so shocking. He will never come back, even if Na Bo-Ra waits. While Na Bo-Ra was still in a stunned state, a young man approached her. Poong Woon- Ho's sister explained everything and delivered a package containing Poong Woon-Ho's video tapes. Na Bo- Ra then plays the video at her old house, watching the most beautiful work as well as the last message from Poong Woon-Ho. He who leaves, becomes immortal in works, and is remembered for all time. Hopefully we can all carve many works and memories with loved ones, until we close our eyes later. 20th Century Girl' contains many meaningful hidden messages. One of them is to prohibit honesty, regardless of whether the truth hurts or not. Because if allowed to drag on longer it will grow other savings that have a bigger impact and hurt other people.
