The world was shocked by the outbreak of a new virus, namely the Coronavirus
which was designated by WHO as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The
government has implemented a strategy to deal with the pandemic through vaccination which
is expected to create herd immunity in the community. Apart from the government's efforts to
increase the achievements of the Covid-19 vaccination, controversies regarding the Covid-19
vaccine in the community also continue to flow. Carrying out the Covid-19 vaccination,
many people refused for certain reasons, including regarding the safety and halalness of the
Covid-19 vaccine. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between
perceptions about covid-19 vaccination and public health culture on compliance with covid-
19 vaccination.
The method used is quantitative research, with Cross-Sectional Collaboration
Analytic design, purposive sampling research technique, and as many as 200 respondents, the
research sample is in the village of Lumbang Rejo, Pasuruan Regency. Data collection was
carried out in August 2022 using a perception questionnaire sheet on co-19 vaccination, a
public health culture questionnaire, and a co-19 vaccination compliance questionnaire which
was distributed via the Google form link and leaflets.
Data analysis used the Chi-square correlation test on both perception and health
culture variables resulting in Asymp. Sig (2-sided) in the Pearson Chi-Square test is 0.000;
then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between
perceptions about co-19 vaccination and public health culture towards co-19 vaccination
compliance. It can be concluded that positive perceptions about covid-19 vaccination and a
good health culture will influence individual willingness to take part in the covid-19
vaccination, and vice versa. It is hoped that this research can be used as a reference to explore
other factors that can increase the willingness to accept vaccinations in the community, for
example by creating a supportive environment, utilizing people who have a positive
influence, and increasing community motivation. The public's willingness to take part in the
Covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia also comes from the success of the government's efforts to
form a positive mindset through health counseling or outreach and also giving rewards to the
community.
