minyak mentah dan air pada temperature operasi
desalter.
Kondisi ini dijaga untuk menghidari vaporasi campuran
minyak mentah dan air yang berakibat mempercepat
penyerapan garam sehingga terjadi short circuit
elektrode.

BEST PRACTICE :
Target 3 – 6% vol dari minyak mentah
API gravity minyak mentah rendah = rate wash water
yang tinggi untuk optimum performance.
Rate wash water dibawah range 3 – 6 % akan
menyebabkan tidak optimalnya penyerapan garam.
Rate wash water diatas range 3 – 6 % akan
menyebabkan emulsi droplet air yang banyak didalam
Desalted Crude sehingga menaikkan angka Water
Content.

Intrument Detector untuk indikator Interface Level bisa berupa :

Berdasarkan perbedaan density, kurang efektif pada gravity yang
rendah dan tidak efektif dengan adanya emulsion pad.
- Capacitance Probe
Pengukuran Level dengan perbedaan capacitance elektrik.
- Agar Probes
Pengukuran Level dengan perbedaan energi absorpsi.
- Try Cock
Pengukuran Level berdasarkan aktual dilapangan. Umumnya
terdapat 5 buah try cock, kondisi yang normal try cock #3 emulsi.
Level interface umumnya dijaga pada ketinggian 40 s/d 60 % vessel
tergantung dari tata letak elektrode.
Level dibawah 40 s/d 50 % akan menyebabkan settling droplet air
menjadi lama dan naiknya oil content di brine water.
Level diatas 40 s/d 50 % akan menyebabkan water carry over pada
desalted crude dan terjadi short circuit elektrode.
