Floating Storage & Offloading (FSO)

• Floating storage and offloading unit (FSO) adalah fasilitas lepas pantai yang berfungsi sebagai
tempat penyimpanan hidrokarbon. Desain dasar dari sebagian besar FSO berupa bentuk kapal,
dengan topside, dek kapal dan penyimpanan hidrokarbon di bawah lambung ganda. Secara
visual FSO adalah sebuah kapal tanker, hanya saja fungsinya saja yang membedakan FSO
dengan kapal tanker.

• Keberadaan FSO sangat menguntungkan industri migas karena bisa ditempatkan sedekat
mungkin dengan area pengeboran yang umumnya ada di lepas pantai.

• Lebih feasible daripada pipeline untuk aplikasi deep water (lebih murah).
