Alat Mitigasi
▫ Surge Arrester merupakan
Surja arrester adalah alat yang
dipakai untuk melindungi
peralatan tenaga listrik dengan
cara membatasi surja
tegangan lebih yang datang
dan mengalirkannya ke tanah

▫ “surja arrester harus memiliki

resistansi yang luar biasa tinggi
selama operasi sistem berjalan
normal dan secara relatif
resistansi kecil saat terjadi
transient overvoltage.”
PRINSIP KERJA
Pada prinsipnya arrester membentuk jalan yang mudah
dilalui oleh petir, sehingga tidak timbul tegangan lebih
yang tinggi pada peralatan. Pada kondisi normal
arrester berlaku sebagai isolasi tetapi bila timbul surja
arrester berlaku sebagai konduktor yang berfungsi
melewatkan aliran arus yang tinggi ke tanah. Setelah
arus hilang, arrester harus dengan cepat kembali
menjadi isolator.

KARAKTERISTIK ARRESTER
▫ Dibatasi oleh tegangan (voltage limiting) bila dilalui
oleh berbagai macam arus petir.
▫ Dapat melepas tegangan lebih ke tanah tanpa
menyebabkan hubung singkat ke tanah.
▫ Dapat memutuskan arus susulan.
▫ Mempunyai tingkat perlindungan (protect level) yang
rendah.
