MENGENAL PECAHAN
Pizza utuh

Nah, pizza yang tadinya utuh sekarang terpotong


menjadi 2 bagian yang sama besar.

Maka dapat kita tulis:


Dipotong dua 𝟏
𝟐
Karena satu potong dari dua potongan yang ada
bernilai setengah atau ½ bagian.

Maka, atau potongan pizza inilah yang disebut


pecahan.

APA ITU PECAHAN?

Pecahan adalah bagian-bagian dari sesuatu yang utuh.


Nah, bagian yang dimaksud biasanya ditandai dengan arsiran.

Lambang pecahan dapat ditulis dengan:

𝒃 Penyebut
Berikut menyatakan pecahan dalam gambar arsiran

MEMBANDINGKAN
PECAHAN

1 Membandingkan pecahan dengan penyebut yang sama

Pecahan yang penyebutnya sama dapat dibandingkan dengan cara


membandingkan pembilangnya.
Semakin besar pembilang, maka nilai pecahan juga semakin besar.

Lambang :

< = lebih kecil dari


> = lebih besar dari
Perhatikan 2 gambar berikut

Bandingkan pembilang pada kedua gambar pecahan


tersebut.
Keduanya memiliki penyebut yang sama, yaitu 4 dan
4.

Maka, 1 < 2

Dan lebih kecil dari ,


ditulis <

2 Membandingkan pecahan dengan pembilang yang sama

Pecahan yang memiliki pembilang yang sama dapat


dibandingkan dengan cara melihat penyebutnya.
Semakin kecil penyebut, maka nilai pecahan semakin
besar.

Misal : penyebutnya 2 dan 2, 4 dan 4, 8 dan 8, dst.


Perhatikan 2 gambar berikut :

gambar pecahan tersebut.
Keduanya memiliki pembilang yang
sama, yaitu 1 dan 1.

Karena, 8 > 4

Maka, lebih kecil dari ,

Kesimpulan :
Apabila penyebut lebih kecil, maka nilainya akan semakin besar.
Apabila penyebut lebih besar, maka nilainya semakin kecil.
