 Pengertian Biaya Standar
Biaya standar adalah biaya yang ditentukan dimuka, yang
merupakan biaya yang seharusnya dikeluarkan untuk membuat
satu satuan produk / untuk membiayai suatu kegiatan tertentu,
dibawah asumsi kondisi ekonomi, efisiensi, dan faktor-faktor
tertentu lainnya.
Sistem biaya standar merupakan suatu sistem akuntansi biaya 
yangmengolah informasi biaya sedemikian rupa sehingga mana
jemen dapatmendeteksi kegiatan-
kegiatan dalam perusahaan yang biayanyamenyimpang dari
biaya standar yang ditentukan

Sistem biaya Standar menggunakan 2 metode yaitu, metode Full Costing dan Variabel Costing

ANALISIS SELISIH DALAM BIAYA STANDATAR METODE
VARIABEL COSTING
Analisis selisih biaya overhead pabrik tidak
memperhitungkan selisih biaya yang disebabkan oleh
unsur biaya overhead pabrik tetap, karena dalam biaya
produksi hanya diperhitungkan biaya produksi variabel
saja. Kapasitas yang diperhitungkan dalam analisis,
biaya overhead pabrik adalah kapasitas standar dan
kapasitas sesungguhnya, sehingga selisih biaya
overhead pabrik dianalisis hanya menjadi dua macam
selisih: selisih pengeluaran biaya overhead pabrik
variabel (variable overhead spending-variance) dan
selisih efisiensi biaya overhead pabrik variabel
(variable overhead-efficiency variance).

Selisih pengeluaran biaya overhead pabrik variabel disebabkan
oleh penyimpangan tarif sesungguhnya biaya overhead pabrik
variabel dari tarif standar biaya overhead pabrik variabel, yang
dihitung dengan rumus:
