A. Definisi
Pronoun adalah kata yang digunakan untuk menggantikan noun (kata benda) yang
dapat berupa orang, benda, hewan, tempat, atau konsep abstrak.
B. Macam-macam Pronoun
Pronoun sesuai fungsi dan letaknya terbagi menjadi beberapa macam, yaitu:
1. Subjective Personal
Subjective personal pronoun adalah kata ganti yang berposisi sebagai subjek.
Contoh:
• He is a politician.
(Dia adalah politisi.)
• It is the most delicious cake that I have ever eaten.
(Ini kue terlezat yang saya pernah makan.)
2. Objective Personal
Objective personal pronoun adalah kata ganti yang berposisi sebagai objek
dari kalimat. Contoh:
• He lent me two interesting books.
(Dia meminjami saya dua buku yang menarik.)
• None understands why the man really loves her.
(Tak satupun mengerti kenapa pria tersebut mencintai dia.)
3. Possessive Adjective
Possessive adjective pronoun adalah determiner (special adjective) yang digunakan
untuk menyatakan kepemilikan (possession) terhadap noun.
• My house is the biggest one.
(Rumahku adalah yang terbesar.)
• Today is your day.
(Hari ini harimu.)
4. Personal Possessive
Personal possesive pronoun berfungsi untuk menunjukkan siapa yang memiliki sesu-
atu dengan menempati posisi sebagai: subject of a sentence, subject complement,
atau objek.
• Yours was sent yesterday.

• That is ours.

5. Reflexive
Reflexive Pronoun adalah kata ganti yang digunakan untuk menyatakan bahwa
subject suatu kalimat menerima aksi dari verb (reciprocal action).
• I‘m going to buy myself new jeans.
(Saya akan membeli celana jins sendiri.)
• Stop blaming yourself.
(Berhenti menyalahkan dirimu sendiri.)
6. Demonstrative
Demostrative pronoun merupakan kata ganti yang menggunakan parameter
number (jumlah) dan distance (jarak). Kata ganti yang digantikan umumnya berupa
benda, namun dapat pula berupa orang atau hal. Contoh:
• This is the most interesting book I’ve ever read.

7. Interrogative
Interrogative pronoun adalah kata ganti yang digunakan untuk membuat

CHAPTER 3 VERB
Verb (kata kerja) adalah suatu kata yang berfungsi untuk menunjukkan tindakan dari sub-
ject, menunjukkan peristiwa atau keadaan. Menurut jenisnya, Verb dibagi menjadi 2
yaitu;
1.Auxiliary Verb
Auxiliary verb adalah kata kerja yang muncul sebelum main verb (kata kerja utama) di
dalam suatu kalimat untuk memodifikasi makna dari kata kerja utama tersebut. Tidak
seperti kata kerja utama, auxiliary verb tidak mempunyai arti sendiri. Berikut ini macam-
macam Auxiliary Verbs:

Contoh:

2. Ordinary/Main Verbs
Main verb adalah verb apapun (termasuk linking verb) yang bukan merupakan auxil-
iary verb. Kata kerja ini dikenal juga dengan istilah full verb atau lexical verb. Main verb
dalam bahasa Inggris akan berubah sesuai Tense/waktu dari kata kerja tersebut. Peruba-
han Verb ini digolongkan menjadi dua, yaitu perubahan yang teratur (regular verb) di-
mana kata kerja dasarnya cukup ditambahkan akhiran –ed; contoh: talk – talked – talked,
walk – walked – walked, manage – managed – managed, dll. Sementara perubahan
kedua yaitu perubahan yang tidak teratur (Irregular Verb), Irregular verb memiliki aturan
tersendiri berubahnya; contoh: see – saw – seen, make – made – made, speak – spoke

3. Adverb of Degree (derajat)
Adverb of degree untuk menyatakan sampai seberapa jauh (tingkatan atau dera-
jat) suatu kegiatan atau peristiwa. Contoh averb of degree:

4. Adverb of modality (harapan)
Adverb of modality merupakan kata keterangan untuk menyatakan tingkat keyakinan

A. Definisi
Adjective adalah kata yang digunakan untuk menerangkan noun atau pronoun yang
dapat berupa orang (person), tempat (place), binatang (animal), benda atau konsep
abstrak.
B. Posisi Adjective
Dalam kalimat bahasa Inggris, Adjective menempati posisi yang berbeda-beda.
Untuk itu adjective ini dikelompokan dalam tiga tipe sesuai posisinya, yaitu:
Attributive adjective adalah adjective atau adjective phrase yang normalnya
menempati posisi sebelum noun. Contoh:
- My uncle owns two beautiful cottages.
(Paman saya memiliki dua cottage yang indah.)
- Diego wanted to know whether I had heard the good news.
(Diego ingin tau apakah saya telah mendengar berita baik tersebut.)
- Can I borrow your long ruler for a moment?
(Dapatkah saya meminjam penggaris panjangmu sebentar?)
- He’s smelling the white coffee.

Postpositive adjective adalah adjective (kata sifat) yang ditempatkan segera sete-

tanpa diselangi linking verb.

Adjective berfungsi untuk menerangkan noun. Biasanya posisi adjective di depan
noun yang diterangkannya (fungsi attributive). Ketika menerangkan noun, mungkin
digunakan lebih dari satu adjective. Pada situasi ini, kita perlu menggunakan adjec-
tive order (urutan adjective dalam bahasa Inggris berdasarkan kategori) untuk men-
empatkan setiap kata sifat tersebut pada posisi yang tepat.

A. Definisi
Conjunction adalah kata atau kelompok kata yang berfungsi menghubungkan dua kon-
struksi gramatikal yang sama yaitu: kata, frasa (phrase), atau klausa (clause). Kata atau
kelompok kata ini dapat dibedakan menjadi coordinate, correlative, subordinate, dan
adverbial conjunction (subjunctive adverb).
B. Macam dan Contoh Kalimat Conjunction
1. Coordinate Conjunction
Coordinate conjunction terdiri dari: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, dan so (fanboys). Kata
hubung ini sering digunakan pada compound sentence untuk menghubungkan dua
independent clause. Contoh kalimat:
• I love running and swimming.
(Saya suka berlari dan berenang.)
• She wants a house, but she can’t afford it.

Preposition adalah kata yang bersama objeknya (disebut object of preposition) men-
erangkan verb, noun, atau adjective. Object of preposition dapat berupa noun, pro-

The plane was late and detectives were waiting at the airport all morning. They were ex-

CHAPTER 9 PAST TIME
A. Definisi
Past time merupakan kalimat yang menggunakan keterangan waktu lampau, jadi semua
tindakan yang sedang dibicarakan sudah benar-benar terjadi atau tidak lagi dilakukan saat
tindakan itu dibicarakan. Berbeda dengan bahasa Indonesia, dalam bahasa Inggris, jika
kita membicarakan tindakan atau kejadian yang terjadi di masa lampau maka kata kerja
akan berubah sesuai dengan atauran yang berlaku. Perubahan kata tersebut dibagi men-
jadi dua yaitu ada kata kerja yang berubahnya beraturan (Regular Verb) dan kata kerja
yang berubahnya tidak beraturan (Irregular Verb).
Secara sederhana, past time dibagi menjadi dua; yaitu simple past dan simple past tense.
Berikut ini definisi dan contohnya:
1. Simple Past digunakan untuk membicarakan aktivitas atau situasi yang dimulai dan di-
akhiri di waktu lampau. Contoh:

A. Definisi
Futer time adalah tense yang membicarakan kegiatan atau tindakan yang terjadi di
masa depan. Dalam buku ini, future time dibagi menjadi dua; yaitu:
1. Simple future tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk
menyatakan bahwa suatu aksi terjadi dimasa depan, secara spontan atau
terencana. Simple future tense dibentuk dari modal auxiliary verb “will” atau
“shall” dan bare infinitive (bentuk dasar verb) atau dibentuk dari phrasal
modal “be going to”.
Contoh: He will win.
(Dia akan menang)
They are going to come.
(Dia akan datang)
2. Past future tense atau “future in the past” adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja
untuk membicarakan masa depan dari perspektif masa lalu. Past future tense
dibentuk dari modal “would” dan bare infinitive atau dibentuk dari auxiliary

tiwa yang benar-benar telah terjadi. Jadi, itulah kenapa disebut perfect. Dalam buku

1. Present perfect tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk
menyatakan suatu aksi atau situasi yang telah dimulai di masa lalu dan masih

A. Devinisi
Passive voice adalah suatu grammatical construction (bentuk gramatikal) dimana
subject kalimat tidak melakukan aksi, melainkan menerima aksi (sebagai receiver of
action). Aksi ditindaklanjuti oleh agent lain (sebagai doer of action) yang dapat dise-
butkan ataupun tidak.
Adapun past participle yang digunakan berupa kata kerja transitive. Past participle diper-
oleh dengan menambahkan -ed, -en, -d, -t, -n, atau -ne pada base form berupa regular
verb. Pada base form berupa irregular verb, bentuk past participle tidak konsisten.

CHAPTER 15 DEGREES OF COMPARISON
A. Definisi
Degree of comparison adalah bentuk adjective (kata sifat) atau adverb (kata keteran-
gan) yang menyatakan perbandingan. Ada tiga degree of comparison, yaitu: positive,
comparative, dan superlative degree.
B. Bentuk Degree of Comparison
1. Positive Degree
Ketika digunakan untuk menyatakan perbandingan, positive degree harus digu-
nakan bersama correlative conjunction as … as. Positive degree berupa bentuk standar
adjective dan adverb tanpa perubahan apapun.
• The task is not as difficult as you imagine.
(Tugas tersebut tidak sesulit yang kamu bayangkan.)
• The test was as easy as pie.
(Tes tersebut sangat mudah.) as easy as pie = extremely easy
• My brother drives as carefully as my father in the residential area.
(Saudara laki-laki saya mengemudi sehati-hati ayahnya di area perumahan.)
2. Comparative Degree
Comparative degree digunakan untuk membandingkan dua orang, binatang,
benda, atau hal. Kebanyakan adjective atau adverb yang terdiri dari satu suku kata di-
tambahkan akhiran -er, sedangkan dua suku kata atau lebih diawali dengan kata more.
Khusus untuk dua suku kata adjective dengan akhiran -y, akhiran tersebut dihilangkan
lalu ditambahkan -ier. Ketika berada di dalam kalimat, degree of comparison ini bi-
asanya diikuti kata than.
Contoh Comparative Degree:
adjective: cold-colder, patient – more patient, happy-happier
adverb: fast-faster, gently – more gently, slowly – more slowly

Superlative degree berfungsi untuk membandingankan tiga atau lebih orang,
benda, atau hal. Mayoritas satu suku adjective dan adverb didapat bentuk superlative-
nya dengan menambahkan akhiran -est, sedangkan yang lebih dari satu suku kata dita-
mbahkan kata most di depannya. Adapun untuk adjective yang terdiri dari dua suku
kata dengan akhiran -y, akhiran tersebut dihilangkan lalu ditambahkan -iest. Ketika be-
rada di dalam kalimat, superlative degree diawali dengan definite article the.
Contoh Superlative Degree:
adjective: cold-coldest, patient – most patient, happy-happiest
adverb: fast-fastest, gently – most gently, slowly – most slowly

SPEECH ON THE VALUE OF EDUCATION
Warm greetings to our distinguished guests, respected principal, teachers and my dear
friends!
Every child is born into this world with the “trailing clouds of glory from heaven”. And,
suddenly these little angels of God find themselves filled with fears, doubts and confu-
sion. It is here that the role of education gets highlighted. When these God’s angles
struggle with fears and doubts, education comes to their rescue and acts as sunshine by
removing darkness and helping them overcome their fears and clear their doubts. When
it happens, the world appears bright and cheerful and helps children in becoming good
human beings.
But education doesn’t come on its own as there is got to be an intermediary who can
impart knowledge and show them the right path. This is certainly the role a teacher plays
in our lives and he/she is the one who comes as an experienced person and helps chil-
dren differentiate between right and wrong. Of course, it’s the parents who act as a best
guide for the children and help them grow as a responsible citizen because gaining book-
ish knowledge is not enough. One has to go farther than this and when children learn
how to live their lives with dignity, conduct themselves, how to be humble and how to
treat others – it is then the education is considered to be complete and believed to be
serving its purpose.
Let me share with you a brief story on the Value of Education. Once there was a man
who was passing through the desert when suddenly he heard a voice calling on him by
saying, “Take some pebbles and keep them with you and tomorrow you will be both glad
and sorry”.
The man did the same and next morning when he searched into his pocket, he found
emeralds, rubies and diamonds. And at that time he was both happy and sorry. He was
happy because he had taken at least some and sorry that he didn’t pick more. This is true
of education also.
So my dear friends, let’s keep the value of education intact so that we do not feel sorry
the coming day. Education is that wealth which no one can steal but it increases the
more you share it with others. Having said that, it’s important to be fully vigilant of what
we are sharing with others in the form of knowledge as we should share
meaningful and life enhancing knowledge and not something that de-
stroys people and communities.
Education is the most powerful tool so use it wisely. If you are a
privileged person, help others by enlightening them, by teach-
ing them the difference between right and wrong and impart-
ing moral values. If education will be based on values and ethics,
strengthened by sound moral principles, then our generation
will grow up as rational beings. On the contrary, if education
will be founded on selfish reasons then no one can prevent
that society from its downfall and there will be chaos every-
where.
So let’s take the onus of imparting good values to our coming
generation and never lose sight of the primary aim of educa-
tion, i.e. to become good and responsible global citizens.

Hello Friends! It is so good to see all of you in front of my eyes. My graduation, Post-
graduation and Office friends all together at one place. For you people it might seem just
another thing but honestly for me, it is the heaven on earth.
Each one of you has given me tremendous memories and together we have cherished
best of the moments of our life. But how sad it is for me, that I happen to witness this in-
credible moment on the day when i am to bid you all a Good bye. Yes, it’s time for me to
say goodbye to Indonesia and unfortunately to you all as well. It is the destiny that has
played so well in making my path collide with all of you at some or the other moment,
but this same destiny has now planned to take me beyond the country boundaries and
make my future the best.
Anyways, I know none of us should actually be sad for this. It is just the physical day to
day connection that would be missing, but we all will be virtually connected way to
strong. We will be the living in the strong long distance friendships.
What a journey it has been, the days when we laughed together so hard are now
bringing tears in my eyes and the days that we fought and cried are now bring peace and
happiness within. We all have lived happily together with each other.
Our moments have been amazing. You all will anyhow be in touch with each other
physically as well, but it is the toughest moment for me to wave this goodbye to all of
you all together. I was always taught that dream big and work for it, this step of mine is
just a practical intake of this lesson. But, nobody along with this told me that when you
work for your big dreams, there might come times when you will have to let go a part of
you. I wish somebody told me, i would have not dreamt this big. Just kidding!
I know seeing me grow and prosper will make my friends way to happy, of course just
like the past days, i would always
love to listen when you say. Yaar,

Hon’ble Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and Dear Students – Warm greetings to
everyone!
As an alumnus of this school I am here to present before you a speech on importance
of teachers on the auspicious occasion of teacher’s day. Teachers are a backbone of any
society whether it is Indonesia or the world. I think you would believe me that whatever
we have achieved in our lives is all because of our teachers.
A teacher’s job is very challenging as they don’t only teach but they too need to do
their homework which includes checking your registers and pin pointing every mistake
that you have committed. This work becomes too challenging and responsible. If a
teacher’s eye is not able to catch even one mistake, then you all would commit the same
mistake again. The teacher needs to be too vigilant in order to correct your mistakes.
It is rightly pointed out that the first teachers in our lives are our parents, secondary to
them are the teachers in schools who act as a link between the school and the students.
They are the ones who recognize and understand our weaknesses and put all their efforts
to rectify those problems with us. We need teachers in every phase of our lives whether
in schools or in colleges. A teacher’s role is the one that nobody can understand. They
never let us know that they are facing certain issues in their lives. Once they enter the
classrooms then it’s just them and us. They have always kept their personal and profes-
sional lives separate and they never let their problems hamper our studies and educa-
tion.
They impart knowledge to the extent that every student understands the concept in an
easy and refined way. They mould us into better human beings that sometimes even our
parents fail to counsel us and they also go to the teachers to counsel us in the right man-

SPEECH ON WORLD HERITAGE DAY – 1
Good Morning Children – I hope you all are doing well in your studies and if there are
any issues related to your studies; then please feel free to come to my office. Today, I and
all the teachers decided to assemble all the children for the speech ceremony on World
Heritage Day. Since the day is around the corner, I wanted to enlighten our children on
this subject. As a principal of this school, I take the onus not only to make our children
perform well in studies, but also to enlighten them on such subjects that concern
mankind greatly.
World Heritage is described as the common wealth of mankind. This day is a brilliant
reminder of our rich cultural past and it becomes our responsibility to preserve our her-
itage not only for ourselves, but for the next generations to come. Undoubtedly, heritage
sites ought to be preserved and protected. They are priceless assets for mankind. The
date for the celebration of World Heritage Day is 18 April and it first began in the year
1982. ICOMOS, i.e. International Council for Monuments and Sites had started a sympo-
sium in Tunisia, the African country.
The calls were made in order to celebrate the “International Day for Monuments and
Sites” across the globe. The idea caught the attention of the people and the committee
members then gave approval to the suggestion. The proposal afterwards was introduced
at the UNESCO General Conference where a decree was passed in the month of Novem-
ber 1983.
Since that momentous day, the whole world began observing the “International Monu-
ments and Sites Day”, which is also called as “World Heritage Day” on 18th April. Our
sites and monuments can only be given protection through the joint efforts of the global
community. On the day of World Heritage, awareness campaigns are being organized for
enlightening the masses about the diversity of our cultural wealth and the kind of solu-
tion is needed to preserve and protect it. It is true that heritage sites are exposed to vari-
ous risk factors and hence we should do all that we can to the best of our capacity in
providing protection to these precious assets.
Interestingly, year after year a theme has been chosen to celebrate this day. Let’s say
for example, in the year 2010, “Agricultural Heritage” was decided as a theme. The whole
idea was to consider the evolution of man on this earth and its indispensable relationship
with nature. Agricultural heritage laid stress on various types of agricultural activities,
landscapes and systems and how they took shape as the human civilization progressed.
Thus, the World Heritage Day is observed in many ways. Visits to the sites and monu-
ments are planned with a view to highlight the importance of preserving these cultural
assets. When restoration works become successful, people
are often invited to pay a visit to these sites. There is also a
wide media coverage that throws light on impressive mon-
uments. Interviews and conferences are also held every-
where. Debates and discussions are organized and
exhibitions are also put up for a great visual treat. This day
is indeed a day for every respective citizen of a country to
feel proud of the great cultural assets of his/her nation.

To our esteemed chief guests and dear audience – Welcome to the 97th symposium of
our Radhakrishna cultural committee! I am your host for today – Rajeev Shukla – and
have been an active part of this committee from past four years.
Friends, since all of us are present here it is my great desire to deliver a speech on
World Heritage Day as somewhere I feel people experience a sense of detachment from
their national cultural heritage and globally as well. It is extremely important to inculcate
a feeling of pride at our national cultural wealth and preserve it for posterity so that the
coming generation can have the privilege of appreciating the cultural possessions of
his/her country.
Before I explain the importance of World Heritage Day, please let me first throw some
light on what a world heritage site actually is. A world heritage site is categorized as a
man-made or natural edifice or area, which is of global significance and a particular place
which requires special attention and protection. Such sites are officially acknowledged by
the UN as well as UNESCO, spelled as the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cul-
tural Organization. According to UNESCO, these sites are categorized as the World Her-
itage and hold extreme importance for humanity as well as command physical and
cultural significance.
This day, therefore, seeks to spread awareness about the challenges faced by the au-
thorities in preserving the world heritage sites. This present year 2017 has allowed the
communities to come together and celebrate the overwhelming influence of sustainable
tourism and how it can strengthen communities and inform the masses.
Please don’t get surprised when I say that there are about 1,052 world heritage sites.
Out of these, 814 fall under the cultural category, 203 are considered natural and 35 are
a mix of both. Nearly 55 sites are under constant threat, including the Jesus birthplace,
Church of the Nativity and Pilgrimage Route in Bethlehem.
There is ICOMOS, i.e. the International Council for Monuments and Sites which sug-
gests a number of ideas about how to celebrate this day of great global importance:
Encourage a visit to sites and monuments as well as allow restoration works may be
with free admission.
Publish articles in magazines and newspapers as well as send out a message on radio
and television.
Hang banners around chief traffic artery or town squares inviting attention of people
to this day and encouraging preservation of our cultural heritage.
Inviting national as well as international personalities, including the experts for inter-
views and conferences.
Organize discussions in city halls, cultural centers and various other public spaces.
Encourage publication of post-cards, posters, stamps and most importantly books.
Exhibitions through paintings, photos, etc.
Giving away prizes to people and organizations that have exceptionally contributed to-
wards the promotion as well as conservation of our cultural heritage as well as have
come up with an outstanding publication on this subject.
Encouraging such activities that raise awareness amongst the school going children as
well as youth.
Reintroduce a recently refurbished monument.
Thus, in many ways we can help preserve our cultural possessions and raise awareness
amongst the people on a global platform.

Good morning to the Excellencies, Principal Sir, Sir, Madam and my dear friends. My
name is … I study in class … Today, we are here to celebrate a most important day, world
environment day. I will recite a speech on the history of world environment day and its
necessity to be established. I have especially selected this topic because of much impor-
tance of it for our better future.
World environment day is a day especially celebrated to know and solve all the envi-
ronmental issues. It is also known as the Environment Day, Eco Day or WED. It is a great
annual event focusing on the issues of environment and trying to solve them completely.
It is being celebrated for years worldwide with lots of creative activities and enthusiasm
to bring positive changes in the environment. It aims to protect the natural environment
forever on the earth for the healthy possibility of life.
It is celebrated annually on 5th of June since 1973 however declared in 1972 by the
United Nations General Assembly during the opening of conference on Human Environ-
ment to raise the global awareness about declining condition of the environment as well
as tell people about the importance of healthy and green environment on earth. The an-
nual celebration of it depends on the particular theme of the year (declared by the UN)
which focuses on implementing some new and effective plans to save the environment.
My dear friends, this event is celebrated globally in more than 100 countries because
this issue cannot be solved individually by one country. It is a global issue and needs to
be solved globally by the involvement of all the countries worldwide. It is run by the
United Nations Environment Programme whereas its annual celebration is organized by
the different host city every year declared by the United Nations. The host city of this
campaign in 2016 was Angola. First time it was celebrated in 1973 with the theme of
“Only one Earth”.
It aims to engage and draw attention of millions of people including political and
health organizations from different countries across the world to make new plans and im-
plement them accordingly. It is very necessary to address the issues like wastage and
losses of food, increasing global warming, deforestation, pollution, industrialization, etc
in order to control the negative environmental changes. Its celebration focuses on carbon
neutrality, forest management, managing greenhouse effect, promoting bio-fuels produc-
tion, use of hydro-power to produce electricity, encouraging people to use solar water
heaters, use of solar system, pro-

weather conditions. Such herbicides are toxic to the bees and other pollinators. Decline
in the population of bees will also affect the food supply as they responsible to pollinate
around 250,000 species of plants and 90 food crops.
Ever increasing rate of climate changes is snatching the chocolate from us. The main
cause of difficulty in producing cocoa is continuous rising temperature and change in
weather patterns. High temperature causes evapotranspiration from the cocoa trees
means lack of water from the trees which ultimately lowers cocoa production. Its produc-
tion will diminish more by 2030.
High temperature, extremely changing weather conditions and depleting water supply
are causing rust and fungus which inhibiting the production of coffee. The production of
seafood is also in danger and decreasing due to the global warming. Numbers of water-
species, fishes including planktons are on the way to extinct. King corn is also saying us
bye-bye because of the huge climatic changes and global warming. Deforestation at
large-scale is pushing many plant species like palm oil, etc towards extinction.
Dear friends, we need to do something effective in order to reduce the rate of climate
change as well as save many natural resources for better life on the earth in future. 3R
techniques (reduce, reuse and recycle) can be very effective in lessening the impact of
our bad activities over natural ecosystem. We should start from small but effective steps
like switch to organic food from inorganic food, use of natural fertilizers over chemical
fertilizers, reduce use of electricity, reuse things, recycle wates, stop deforestation, save
wild animals, etc to reduce the rate climate changes. Our positive steps will really help in
solving environmental issues in near future.

Greetings of the day everyone. Our organization has specially organized this health
checkup campaign today. Before we all get busy with campaign, let me talk to you all
about the reason behind arranging this.
Today this campaign is being arranged on the occasion of the World Health Day. This day
just like today is always celebrated on 7th April. World Health Organization has necessar-
ily declared this day as the World Health Day so as to make sure that people get to be
aware about the health issues and concerns. We as individuals owe this responsibility to
ourselves to ensure that we live a healthy life by adopting healthy lifestyle and healthy
habits.
People nowadays don’t take their health and the related issues too seriously as they
know how easy it is to visit a doctor and take one dose of medicine and get back to the
perfect health. They should realise that this medication deep down deteriorates our level
of immunity and makes it more prone to such diseases. Natural health and wellbeing is a
very crucial thing to be maintained throughout.
With the changing trends, corporates have specifically established their NGOs and corpo-
rate associations so as to address one of the major issues of health that exists in the soci-
ety at present. There is no age bar on whose health is more at the stake of being
impacted by natural and personal deeds. Children, senior citizens, students, women,
men, etc everybody has this concern at stake for themselves. We all should ensure the
adoption of best healthy habits for ourselves and our near and dear ones.
A healthy diet and regular exercise routine is the best combination that one can adhere
to for leading a healthy and well versed life. Proper nutritional habits of eating should be
adopted since childhood for children so that since starting they have a strong immune
system for being future life.
World Health Day dedicatedly provides us all with an opportunity to come together for
one day every year to focus on actions that can improve the health of all our people and
side by side address all the key concerns of the health taking the verge of majority of
people at present.
We all should make it our habit to everyday, think about the habits that we opted for that
day; from how much water we drank to did we exercise to the urinary habit that we
adopted, etc. It is only in our hands to make our life healthy and have a great immune
system.
To all those who at present consume medicines for high blood pressure or any other dis-
ease should focus on how to get rid of them through natural work and natural deeds for
healthy life.
Now let’s get started and see our improvement areas and focus on how can be better our

Good morning everyone. Thank you for taking out time and being present at this seminar
session. We all are gathered here to talk about this special day of human rights.
This day is celebrated as a token to all those who stood up for someone’s rights. Human
rights means the rights which every human being owns. Though, till date after years of
defining these rights also a few people are not utilizing them and a few people are all set
to violate them. It is high time for people to actually stand for their rights. We all have
been given right to vote, right to speech, right to education, right to earn and many
more. These rights have been allotted to human beings after many debates and issues. It
is our responsibility and right to avail each of the right introduced for us.
There are many human rights specifically announced for the special classes of humans
like people with disability, SC ST, etc. We all should support these people to witness their
rights so that they can avail benefits from them. At present, there are about 30, yes; 30
human rights declared. These rights are very determined and to the point for the welfare
of the humans. A few of the top rights that I would name here are: Right to equality,
Freedom from discrimination, Right to education, Right to social security, Freedom from
belief and religion, etc.
The things that we scream for our social security, education of poor and many more are
already addressed by the council and have been declared as a human right for every-
body. It is our responsibility to withstand these and create awareness amongst all for ad-
hering and availing these rights for their good and well-being. Each of these rights were
declared in year 1948 by the United Nations for the global understanding of how to treat
individuals.
10th December every year is celebrated as the Human Rights Day. This day is acknowl-
edged as the worldwide declaration of human rights and ensure its continued existence
and remembrance as a common standard for all nations. I am very sure that just like me
there are many people who are not aware about these human rights. Many might not
even know there exists something like this and many might be aware but don’t know
how important these are and how to deal with these.
My focus about these rights would be to educate the people especially kids about human
rights and how it’s our responsibility to learn and exercise them and spread the word.
These rights should necessarily be a part of their curriculum so that they while growing
up know what their rights are as per their existence and how important is it for them to
work on these.
I would request you all to please create awareness about our human rights amongst all
and ensure that on this day we can arrange a seminar slot or a special session for recall-
ing these for our existence rights every year. Thank you for being a part and encouraging

Good Morning Friends!
Thank You for taking out time and joining me at this meeting today. I wanted to share
an important invitation that has come from the Local Government to our Organisation.
We have been invited to support the government and join the ‘Clean Indonesia Mission’.
The campaign is run all over the town and will be launched on December 10 which is also
the Human Rights Day. The campaign has been run for past one year with little or no
progress in the town. Thus, we have been invited to get involved and help in fulfilling the
mission by obtaining better results.
Human Rights Day is the best day for its launch as the day is basically celebrated for
honoring the rights of people. It calls on everybody to stand up for self and other’s rights.
Likewise, living in clean environment and surrounding is everyone’s right and it is impor-
tant for staying healthy too. Disrespect and Insolence for basic human rights continues to
exist in almost every part of our country. People litter without any value and care for oth-
ers. I have myself seen most of the educated people, especially in parks and gardens lit-
ter carelessly despite the availability of dustbins, etc.
I strongly feel that we must restate our common humanity; noble deed doesn’t always
need financial or physical support. In fact, wherever we are, we can make a difference.
On the street, in our neighborhood, at parks, schools, work, in public transport, etc. It’s
time for each one of us to take a stand for our and other’s rights and together we can
certainly make a difference. A small step can make a big difference. We will go to every
school and college to share thoughts on cleanliness. We will also get hoardings and ban-
ners printed and hanged at the streets, parks, etc. to make people aware about the bene-
fits of keeping the surrounding clean.
Not necessarily our gesture has to be grand; a simple step such as understanding the
difference between wet and dry litter and throwing those accordingly in the correct dust-
bin would save so many lives. It’s important to make people understand that litters not
only pollute the environment, but it also spreads several diseases such as Dengue,
Malaria, and Chikungunya.
It’s a grand mission and I have already given my confirmation to the
government about joining it; I am looking for volunteers who can
support me throughout. I would like to make you aware that this is
going to be a charity work, thus you won’t get any payment apart
from off-course appreciation and recognition. Also, I’ll be requiring your
presence on Saturdays and Sundays when the office is closed. This may
sound too much to ask for, but it’s going to last for 3 months, so
your cooperation is highly solicited. There is no pressure on you
guys at all, though it’s absolutely a voluntary deed. We have plans
to begin this work next week; interested people may send me a

Good evening my dear friends, I welcome you all to this special seminar organized on
the Human Rights Day!
How often do we all say that women are treated differently from men, how unsafe
women are in the society, majority of the population is uneducated, there should exist no
white people and black people difference, etc. etc. What all does this mean?
This means that we all humans want men and women to be treated equally, we want
social security for women and all others, we want everybody to be educated and we
want to discrimination. We all want to make this happen. Just like these mentioned be-
fore and many more are the rights that we wish for.
These human rights have been laid down after many efforts and discussions for human
beings to satisfy their basic needs. Human rights are those rights which are necessary for
a dignified and a decent living of humans as well as human existence and adequate de-
velopment of human personality. Human rights are essential for the development of the
human personality in society, where he lives.
Out of the entire audience present here, I am pretty sure that a few of them might not
be completely aware about the 30 human rights universally announced by the United
Nations in the year 1948. In order to safeguard the humans and their well being, 30 spe-
cific human rights were announced. 10th December is officially celebrated as the day of
human rights.
Every human right should be utilized and be adhered to. We all owe the responsibility
to spread the message of these rights amongst all the people.
Among all the rights, for me the most crucial is the Right to Education one. For me it is
the birthright of everyone to get the education. There are numerous benefits of getting
the education. The one who is educated has the power of changing their own lives and
the lives of others as well. Right of education is the one that has the foremost impor-
tance. We all should be well aware of each of these rights, many efforts have been put in
decades before to list down and propose these rights. At present there exists a crucial
step of protection of these human rights.
We all should understand that the human rights are those rights that are fundamental
for the living of human beings and for the normal human existence. For every country’s
government and citizens it is very very important to protect and maintain the human
rights. It is their fundamental duty. We all should avail our rights and should dedicatedly
work for creating the awareness amongst the population about these rights. Each of the
30 listed human rights are necessary for our well being and existence in the society. I re-
quest you all to please share the message with your near and dear ones to spread the ex-
istence of these rights.

CLEANLINESS SPEECH – 1
Good morning to the sir, madam and my friends. My name is … I study in class … Today,
I will recite a speech on cleanliness. I have especially selected this topic because of much
importance of it in our daily lives. Actually, the means of cleanliness is the complete ab-
sence of dirt, dust, stains, and bad smells at home, working places or surrounding areas.
The most important purpose of maintaining cleanliness is to get health, beauty, remove
offensive odor as well as avoid the spread of dirt and contaminants. We clean our teeth,
clothes, body, hair on daily basis in order to get freshness and achieving cleanliness.
Cleanliness
We use variety of products and water to clean different things accordingly. What we
see with our eyes is that, cleaning helps us to remove dirt and bad odor. However, what
we do not see with our eyes is that, cleaning also removes harmful microorganisms (like
bacteria, virus, fungus, algae, etc) from the things. It keeps us healthy and away from va-
riety of diseases especially caused by the harmful microorganisms. According to the germ
theory of disease, cleaning means the total absence of germs. In some industrial
processes, it requires exceptional cleanliness which is achieved especially in the clean
rooms. Presence of dirt and bad odor may decrease the power of our immune system.
Commonly, there are two types of cleanliness, one is physical cleanliness and another
is internal cleanliness. Physical cleanliness keeps us clean from outside and gives us feel-
ing of wellbeing with confidence. However, internal cleanliness keeps us mentally peace-
ful and away from anxiety. Internal cleanliness means a mind absence of dirty, bad and
negative thinking. Keeping the heart, body and mind clean and peaceful is the complete
cleanliness. However, we also need to keep clean our surround-
ing areas so that we can live in a healthy and clean environ-
ment. It will keep us away from the epidemic diseases and
give us the feeling of social wellbeing.
There is a very old saying that “cleanliness is next
to godliness”. It is well said by the John Wesley.
Cleanliness should be given a priority in all the
homes from the childhood so that a little one can
practice it as a habit and can be benefitted all
through the life. Cleanliness is like a good habit
which not only benefits a person, however; it
benefits the family, society and country and
thus whole planet. It can be developed at any
age however best to practice it from the childhood. I, as
a child requesting to all the parents that please help your
kids to practice this habit as it is you who can give this
country a good citizen.

ing in class … standard would like to speech on cleanliness at this event. Cleanliness is a
good habit; it keeps us happy physically, mentally, socially and intellectually. It is very true
that cleanliness begins at home. The sign of cleanliness is a well managed place whether
it is a home, working place, school, college, government or private buildings, hotel,
restaurant, airport, railways station, etc. The level of cleanliness should be high which is
possible if everyone shows his/her effort. It is not the act of one person. It needs regular
support and proper understanding from the end of each person.
Cleanliness attracts positive energies towards it and it can impress anyone. Cleanliness
level becomes generally high in the developed countries because of the good citizens,
strict government rules, high education level and proper understanding of the people. A
person with good habits can change the environment of a home however a country with
good citizens can change its future as well as the environment of whole planet. In order
to show our real potential all through the world, we have to maintain cleanliness all
across the country. It is the only thing which can earn respect because a big land, power,
and rich natural resources does not matter in the lack of cleanliness.
The maintenance of cleanliness in any country depends on the education level,
poverty, and population of the country. The most important factor is education as good
education can reduce the poverty level and provide relief from the over population. If the
citizens of the country will be educated they can well maintain the cleanliness all through
the country. They can pass good habits to their next generation also. Number of cleanli-
ness drives has been run by the government of Indonesia however never get much suc-
cess because of high level illiteracy. The most recent cleanliness drive named as Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan run the Indonesian PM, Narendra Modi, is quite successful.
It is very serious topic and we have to maintain cleanliness in our country, which can
be better started from our homes, if we really want development in Indonesia. We have
to understand that our country is our home and then no problem will be there. As being
the citizen of the country, we all are responsible for cleaning any dirty place we see. We
should keep our roads, tourist places, historical places, schools, colleges, office buildings,
etc very neat and clean.

Hello All, Good Evening!
Thanks for coming here and being a part of this discussion. It feels an honour to see
you all from different fields gathered here. Today’s discussion is on one of the most rele-
vant topics ‘Unity in Diversity’ that is ‘Bineka Tunggal Ika,’ that is synonymous with In-
donesia.
Today, I would like to share my view on what exactly this term ‘Unity in Diversity’
means. Doesn’t it feel strange when we hear the word Unity – which means being one
and Diversity – which means differences, together in one phrase. Yes, it does feel! It
makes us wonder how it is feasible that there is a common factor to seemingly heteroge-
neous things.
It is completely true that Unity in Diversity means the integration of differences; it
means the oneness or togetherness in spite of the presence of diverse or different con-
cepts. In the simplest way if I say, it means collating multiple types of things as one.
The best example of explaining Unity in Diversity is talking about the country ‘Indone-
sia’. Just one word Indonesia, and massive number of things quickly come to our mind.
Isn’t it? Yes, indeed! Different castes, different cultures, different religion, different lan-
guages, different customs, different foods and what not! Clubbing of these varied or di-
verse things in one umbrella is the assimilation of differences and suits so well as an
example of: Unity in Diversity.
Binding people of all religions in the bond of humanity is one of the greatest character-
istics of Indonesia that fits the best as a point of clubbing the differences together at one
angle. Visit any office, any school any market or any institution in Indonesia and you see
the bundle of traditions or castes sitting and working right next to each other, in a spirit
of wholeness.
Each diverse bits and pieces united in one bundle – Indonesia. This diverse spiral in In-
donesia leads to it being one of the most famous tourist spot and attracts continuous

Good Morning to all my dear Students!
As I keep hearing stories of discord and clashes amongst the students of my class from
other teachers, it becomes really embarrassing for me. There-
fore, as your class teacher it becomes my responsibility to
prevent you from doing so. The reason why I have taken this
extra period of yours is to groom you on the practical front
and teach you besides your school syllabus. Though ini-
tially I was very furious and thought to call the parents of
each one of you and give everyone a tight thrashing,
but later on I realized that these rising cases
may be due to the negligence on my part and
inability to devote enough time on you other
than your studies.
So today I am here to deliver a speech on Unity is Strength. I am sure you all under-
stand the importance of unity as you have become quite mature now. Don’t you? And, if
you do then you should also understand that these fights and clashes are absolutely
pointless as these only worsen the situation and spoil the beauty of any relationship.
Thirdly, any outsider can take benefit from the fights and clashes taking place between
two individuals. Haven’t you heard the story of an old farmer who had three sons?
It goes like this – there was an old farmer who was on the verge of death. He had three
sons who used to quarrel a lot amongst themselves. One day he called all his sons and
gave a stick to each one of them to break, every son managed to break the stick. Then,
he gave a bundle of sticks to his eldest son and asked him to break it. He couldn’t do it
and likewise the farmer gave the bundle to his remaining sons who also failed to break it.
Then he told his sons, ‘just like, anyone can easily break a single stick, it is also easy to
destroy a single individual. So if you choose to live separately after my death, anyone
would take advantage of your situation and harm you. But if you all choose to live to-
gether quite like this bundle of sticks, then none of your enemy will be able to harm you.
After hearing this, all his sons promised to live together for the rest of their lives’. So the
moral of the story is Unity is Strength.
This situation applies to you as well. If all my students will live in unity, then none
would be able to point a finger on my class and take advantage of the situation. In fact,
you all should live in harmony and if any situation of conflict arises try to resolve it peace-
fully. No fight can be big enough which cannot be resolved through discussions. Discus-
sions prove really helpful because then you tend to find a solution to avoid such
problems again and life becomes peaceful for everyone. Always remember that never be-
come a laughing stock for others and always try to pacify the situation with non-violent
means.
Now, I sincerely hope that each one of you would take my words seriously and try to

Morning to one and all!
I, Budiman Santoso, student of Class-XI, have prepared a speech on “Unity is Strength”,
which I would like to deliver today in front of you all. You must be wondering about the
occasion behind this speech ceremony of today, but let me clear your doubts first. There
is no occasion as such, but considering the increasing cases of violence and terrorism in
our state and country at large, I had a great desire to address the subject called Unity is
Strength and engage my fellow students in discussion. Moreover, we also come across
many violent cases of dissension all around us and realizing that people these days are
becoming really short-tempered and are losing out on ethical and moral values, it’s high
time that we sit down and realize which direction we are heading towards.
Our country India is known to be a multicultural land where people from different reli-
gious, cultural and social background live in harmony. However, the irony of the situation
is such that our very own country is replete with the rising incidents of communal vio-
lence, strife, terrorist activities, etc.
Every day in news we come across horrifying incidents of violent behavior, bloodbath
where so many innocent people lose their lives. It’s high time we remind ourselves of the
age-old maxim called Unity is Strength and stop unleashing violence on our motherland.
After all, do we not know that “United we stand, divided we fall”?
Our country would never emerge as a stronger and developed nation unless its sad
state of affairs get better and people understand that violence never solves any problem,
but aggravates it. Besides, man is a social animal and cannot live in isolation. He/she
would require the company of others to validate his/her existence. One man cannot do
everything. He/she cannot handle multiple things at a time and so other work will have
to be undertaken by him in support of others. For instance, if a teacher teaches students,
then who would sow crops and feed people, who would stitch clothes, who would look
after patients, who would protect our country’s borders, etc.
So it certainly calls for unity and team-work. It is not possible for a person to live with-
out taking the help of other people. Hence, everyone must work in harmony and also
give support as well as encouragement to each other. If people will continue to remain
rigid and uncooperative, then the foundation of our society would crumble down and
our nation will never be able to project itself as a strong nation at par with the powerful
countries of the world. Unity is what gives power to each and every individual and helps
in building a powerful nation; on the contrary situation of discord eats away a country’s
well-being and makes it regressive.
Let’s sensitize ourselves on this serious issue and pledge to free our motherland from
violent and barbaric acts of behavior.

SPEECH ON DRUG ABUSE 1
Dear Students – Warm Greetings to all of you! I welcome everyone to the school semi-
nar hall.
Today, we are here to discuss about the fatal consumption of drugs and how it is de-
stroying the lives of our youth. But before the discussion begins, I would like to deliver a
short speech on drug abuse and would like to enlighten our students on this sensitive
subject matter.
Drugs, as we all know, are an illegal matter which some people drink, smoke, inject or
eat for the mental as well as physical effects that it leaves. There are several students
who consume drugs out of fun or for various other reasons. People who deal in the sell-
ing of drugs create a network and mainly target students in order to make them addicted
to drugs. Initially, the drugs are sold to the students for free and gradually when they get
addicted to it, they start buying and consuming it. In fact, the students also eventually
become a part of their network and start dealing in it.
It is observed that students start consuming drugs out of stress or unfair expectations
of their teachers as well as parents. Lack of emotional support and disorder in their fami-
lies make them vulnerable and increase their dependency on drugs. They use it in order
to calm down their state of mental agitation. Other than this, it is poverty that compels
some students to become a part of the selling and dealing network of drugs and derive
their pocket money. Therefore, it becomes like a vicious circle of the drug addicted stu-
dents from which they seem to find no escape unless the society comes for their rescue.
Sadly, the students fail to realize that the consumption of drugs has a severe impact on
their physical and mental health, such as they start experiencing mental disorder, their
intelligence level decreases, experience deadly diseases and untimely death. When one
completely succumbs to the temptation of drugs, it gets very difficult for him/her to re-
cover from its impact except in the centers for drug rehabilitation where they gain a new
life, but which involves a high cost. In fact, there are many cases too where even rehabili-
tation centers fail because of the worst condition of the patients.
I, therefore, request all the students to refrain themselves completely from the con-
sumption of drugs before it destroys their health, future and takes away their lives. Don’t
even try to touch or come close to them. Drugs can even destroy a complete generation.
So think wise and act smart. Shape your future which seems bright and full of achieve-
ments. The drugs that doctor prescribes to his/her patients must only be taken in order
to combat a specific disease otherwise the government must take strict measures to ban
its illegal trade in the market and save our youth from destruction.
I want to conclude by saying that drug abuse should be an absolute ‘No’ for all and I
sincerely hope that our students will never ever try to consume drugs and will com-
pletely stay away from its use. Remember that our country needs you as you are its fu-
ture and harbinger of progress.

Good Morning Friends – Welcome to the campaign for drug addiction ban.
It feels extremely great to see how the members of our organization are working hard
in order to make every day count and reach out to the masses for spreading awareness
about the drug addiction or drug abuse. Since day one and today it’s the 77th campaign
of our organization – we haven’t really ever thought that we will grow this big, i.e. cur-
rently we have more than 200 people working for us and have gained a mass appeal. The
response so far has been really good and we have been able to transform the life of the
people for good, who earlier have been living under the influence of drugs.
So today I would further like to appeal to the masses to refrain themselves from using
drugs and live a healthy life. Drug addiction or drug abuse is described as an excessive
dependency on a substance, which inevitably becomes the compulsive need of the per-
son using it. This need becomes so compulsive that without that substance the person
cannot live his life like a normal person does. And, when such a substance is stopped
being available in the market then that person is believed to be suffering from substance
withdrawal.
The addiction of drugs has become one of the serious social problems in many devel-
oping as well as developed countries and it undeniably proves to be the principal ob-
struction in the all-round development of the people, society, country and the world at a
large. Our country is a progressing country and it is already afflicted with so many other
grave problems, such as unemployment, poverty and illiteracy that the problem of drug
abuse makes the situation even worse here as it further makes our economy regressive
by destroying the lives of its youth.
Even sadder is the fact that several drug addicts cannot afford to make a purchase of
expensive drugs so much so that in the end they have to resort to such activities as theft
in their homes. These people are not born thieves, but their addiction to drugs makes
them heinous and propels them to commit crimes in order to feed their body with drugs.
People can become addicted to drugs because of various reasons, some of which are
mentioned below:
In order to de-stress themselves
When a person is under the influence of drugs, he/she forgets everything and enters
into a trance-like state. However, it is only later that people realize that the use of drugs
is only aggravating the problem and not really helping them in getting rid of the stress.
Out of peer pressure
Many times, people start taking drugs because their friends are addicted to them.
However, once they start taking it, it becomes really difficult for them to get rid of this
habit.
Style Statement
Many teenagers these days think that the habit of drinking, smoking and even drug ad-
diction is what helps them look cool and create a style statement in the front of others.
However, it’s only when these people get trapped in its vicious circle that they realize the
irreparable they have caused to their lives.
Teenagers and every person for that matter must understand that the habit of drug
abuse not only greatly affects their body and mind, but also finishes their bright future.
So we should strictly say ‘No’ to drugs and save our lives as well the lives of our loved
ones by spreading awareness in our surroundings.

Good morning to the excellencies, respected teachers and my dear colleagues. I would
like to speech on a very important topic “save water” today at this special occasion. As
well all know that how the water is important for the continuation of life on the earth. It
is the most basic need of everyone (human being, animal, plant and other microorgan-
isms). Water is the unique source of life, without water we cannot imagine the life here.
Life on other planets is not possible just because of the absence of water. It is considered
as the most important among other known celestial bodies. Almost three-fourth area of
the earth is covered by the water and it constitutes around 60-70 % of the living world. It
seems that water is endless renewable source on the earth because it is regenerated and
redistributed all over the earth through evaporation and rain. It arises a question in our
mind that if water is renewable source then why we should worry for water and try to
conserve it.
Save Water
Actually, there is only 1% of the water on the earth which is usable to us. And other
water bodies have unusable water to us such as 97% salty sea water, 2% water in the
form of glaciers and polar ice caps. Only 1% water is here for us over which a huge popu-
lation all over the world is depended for the survival. Death is more possible in the lack
of water than the lack of food. It again arises a question in our mind that why we are so
late in realizing the need of water saving and conservation. Since the life of each and
every living things on the earth depends on water, then scenario will get worse if useful
water become dirty or started reducing. A water looking fresh and drinkable from out-
side can be mixed with the harmful and toxic ele-
ments through various sources like industries,
factories, sewer, etc and cause illness and death
if ingested by animals, plants or human beings.
Here are some tips which really will help us to save
water:
Parents should aware their children about the need of
water conservation. They should avoid buying recre-
ational water toys (which require constant stream of
water) to their children.
Everyone should be aware of the water
shortage rules and restrictions and strictly fol-
low in their own area.
Every employee should be active for the water
conservation at their own work place and encour-
age their employer to promote water conserva-
tion in other effective ways.
There should be water conservation awareness
and tips for every starter in the orientation

ties, water management of district) any problems related to water loss through broken
pipes, errant sprinklers, open hydrants, abandoned free-flowing wells, etc.
• Water conservation awareness should be highly developed and promoted especially
in the schools to aware children means future of the nation.
• School students should be assigned to prepare projects on water conservation or
given this topic during any competition like debate, discussion, essay writing or speech
recitation.
• It should be promoted at tourism level so that tourists and visitors can be aware of
and understand the need for water conservation.
• As being educated citizens we should encourage our friends and neighbors to join
the water conscious community.

SAVE WATER SPEECH 2
A very good morning to the respected teachers, my dear friends and other gathered
people here. As we are here to celebrate this occasion, I would like to speech on the
topic of save water. Now-a-days, lack of useful water in our surrounding areas is the most
serious topic which needs to be working out urgently. Three-fourth of the earth surface is
covered by the water however there is lack of drinking water on the earth (only 1 %). The
level of drinking water on the earth is getting down and dirty because of various indus-
trial sources day by day. It is very serious matter that we are losing the useful water on
the earth. Each human body consists of 75% water which make clear that how the water
is important for us as a prime elements and responsible for life on the earth. Water circu-
lates itself in the universe through the process of evaporation and rain.
A well developed human body contains an average of 42 liters of water however suf-
fers dehydration at a very small loss of 2.7 liters. He/she starts feeling weak, irritable, fa-
tigue, dizziness, nervousness, headaches, etc. We all should improve the habit of water
saving and conservation in our home and outside. Here are some points which can help
us in save water outside the doors:
•We should use water according to the need and requirement and never over-water
our lawn they need watering every 5 to 7 days (summer season), every 10 to 14 days
(winter season) and almost not in the rainy season.
•We should water the lawns especially in the early morning or late evening because
due to the low temperature and low wind speed it can not be lost through evaporation
and totally used by the plants.
•We should not water the streets, driveways or sidewalks, all are wastage of water.
•We should use water-efficient methods of irrigation (micro and drip irrigation, soaker
hoses, etc) while sprinkling over plants or other place.
•If a lawn cut higher, it encourages roots of the plants go deeper and holds more soil
moisture thus require less water from outside.
•We should never fertilizes (or only sometimes according to need) our lawns because
it increases the need of more water.
•Sprinklers or hoses can not be left unattended as they may loss approximately 600
gallons of water in few hours.
•Car washing should be done on the green ground or lawn otherwise prefer commer-
cial car wash as they recycles water.
•We should avoid ornamental water features like fountains in the lawn as show piece.
•There should be filter system in the individual swimming pools.
•Mulching technique also helps plants to retain soil moisture for long time.
•We should try to plant some native and drought resistant plants, grasses, ground cov-
ers and shrubs in the lawns as they do not need more water to survive.
•There should not be any leakage in the water pipes in the home and in case of leak-
age, hose washers can be used between spigots and water hoses.

Dear Employees!
It’s a rare occasion that I get to interact with all my employees under one roof the way
that I am doing today. There is nothing special in the present day and behind our coming
here; however as a director of the company I realized that there ought to be no commu-
nication gap between me and my employees. Secondly, if there is any concern or issue
with any one of you then please feel free to put it across the table. The management
would certainly try to resolve it or would bring the necessary changes in the organization.
Amidst the growing recession period, I would request everybody to join hands to-
gether and work unanimously towards the betterment of our company. In fact, we
should consider ourselves fortunate that we have a job at hand and good growth
prospects. Look at those who are not fairly employed or are unemployed despite a good
educational background.
Do you know that the count of people, who are without a job, is increasing day by day
in our country? According to experts, this is mainly owing to the economic slowdown as
well as sluggish expansion in business activities that have brought the doom of employ-
ment generation.
Ideally, it’s the government that should expedite its growth measures in order to facili-
tate skill-based training activities so that the gap between demand and supply of work
skills can be filled and necessary qualification can be given. This can also help resolve the
long-term issue of unemployment.
Though there are people who remain unemployed by choice and are not willing to
work, this will not be termed as unemployment. Unemployment is that situation when a
person wishes to work, but is not able to find for himself/herself a qualified job. There is
no doubt that our nation is grappling with this grave issue of unemployment. Unfortu-
nately, many engineers, doctors, graduates or even post graduates are either unem-
ployed or underemployed. Due to rising unemployment, the nation is merely wasting its
human resource or is not able to unleash its benefits entirely.
In India, the rate of unemployment is depicting a growing trend since 2011 when it
was 3.5 percent. Gradually, it increased to 3.6% in the year 2012 and further rose to 3.7%
in the year 2013. Since then, the percentage is never seeing its decline. In fact, it has also
been observed that at every stage of education, particularly at the higher levels, rate of
female unemployment has always surpassed male employment.
The most important step that our government should take is to enforce strict popula-
tion control measures and encourage its people to have small families. Then, some
scrupulous measures should be taken to improve the quality of Indian education system.
Our education system should be more focused on developing skills or providing practical
training rather than confining itself to theoretical knowledge.
Then, new possibilities of employment should be created by setting-up small-scale and
cottage industries. When people will be self-employed, they will not run after for jobs
and would rather be able to employ others in their start-ups.
Now, may I invite the opinions of my employees on this issue of unemployment and
also some concrete suggestions to combat it.

Good Morning to our Respectable Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and My Dear Stu-
dents!!
As you all know that our school has joined hands with other schools in the area for
Clean Campaign, it has been considered appropriate to kick start this campaign right
from our own institution where we as students will also get the encouragement to main-
tain cleanliness around us. But before we talk any further on this topic, let’s first under-
stand what cleanliness is all about?
The term ‘cleanliness’ implies absence of dust, dirt, garbage, foul smell, stains, etc. You
must have realized that most Indian places whether it’s a lane, street, railway station,
government office, hospital or a bus stop look unclean and unpleasant to our eyes. In ad-
dition, the littered garbage, defaced walls and overflowing sewage result in the spread of
diseases and clogging of water on the roads, which further aggravate the situation. The
death toll rises as more and more people succumb to the diseases and die in the absence
of proper treatment and care.
So to avoid this crisis, the natives of our country should put efforts towards maintain-
ing cleanliness not only in their homes and working places, but in their surroundings too.
A hygienic and clean environment creates happy souls and a fulfilling life. There is a fa-
mous idiom that says charity begins at home, likewise cleanliness of a city; village or
town should first begin from people’s homes.
In fact, villages have become proactive in order to ensure cleanliness of their environ-
ment and hygiene of people inhabiting those villages. Other than public toilets, personal
toilets too have been constructed in order to avoid defecation at open places. In fact, ef-
fective measures are being taken up for managing dirty water and solid waste. So when
village folks are putting in concerted efforts, why we people living in well-developed
cities should lag behind in this campaign? Please understand that cleanliness is as essen-
tial to human existence as oxygen, water and food. Also, it’s a foundation of discipline
and hallmark of success because if a person can’t keep himself/herself and the immedi-
ate surrounding organized and clean, then how he/she would contribute towards the
success of others. It’s not possible to maintain a healthy relationship with people in the
absence of a clean environment. At least, a minimal level of cleanliness such as taking
shower regularly, washing your hands after using toilet, protecting your feet from dust,
throwing garbage in the dustbin, etc is expected from everyone.
Cleanliness is monumentally important and must be practiced daily. If we will keep
ourselves and our surroundings clean, it will help in nation building exercise too because
it will then encourage more and more foreign tourists to visit our land and appreciate its
beauty, nature and living surroundings. Of course, no one wants to visit a foul land. So
adopt a lifestyle and nurture a surrounding where there is no threat to nature and the liv-

A very good afternoon to the respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends!
As we all know that today we have gathered in this hall to spread awareness among
the future generations regarding terrorism which is one of the major problems faced by
the entire world.
Terrorism is the illegitimate act done by the group of people to create terror among
common people. I cannot explain terrorism in words because it has very deep roots
spread all over the world. This has become a matter of utmost concern which is aggregat-
ing day by day all across the globe. It is one of the ways that are being used by the politi-
cians, business industries and numerous social organizations for achieving and
accomplishing objectives including social, religious, personal and political.
Terrorism has a huge influence on our country’s youth. It’s not only about our country
but the entire world is facing terrorist attacks. Major causes behind this hike in the terror-
ism level are the different religions and ideologies of people living in this world.
Today people are living under the fear of terrorist attacks in the whole world because
this epidemic has spread from groups to countries. To exemplify, Iraq and Iran are the
countries which are fully under the trap of terrorism. People from Islam community es-
pecially, are getting trapped in this mess of violence.
Terrorist usually deploys machine guns and bombs in their attacks and areas like rail-
way stations, airports or concert halls are there main targets of attack. To epitomize, we
can have a look at countless incidents like an attack in Belgium or other attacks on the
Western European locations where many civilians were killed. If we talk about Indonesia,
on 7th, March 2005 Bali was attacked with bombs by the terrorists where more than 100
innocent people died. Such incidents are being spotted all over the world and thousands
of innocent civilians are killed every year.
There are numerous ways to fight terrorism. The foremost thing is, to have an interna-
tional team always on call to respond to such kinds of threats so that there is minimal
loss of human life and property. Apart from this, gun control is another possible solution
to global terrorism. This will eventually limit the weapons retrieved by the terrorists.
Recognition of the terrorist organizations can also help in avoiding any kind of future ter-
rorist attacks.
It is high time that we all should realize that every person has its own perspective,
mindset, beliefs and religion. As long as we have differences in our own world, terrorism
will persist. We need to equal out these differ-
ences first, which will eventually level the rate of
terrorism in the world. By compendium, I would
say that it’s not a problem that only one country
can solve, but we all need to join our hands to
solve this burning global issue.

Honorable Chief Guest, Respected President of the College, Respected Professors and
Dear Friends – I, on behalf of the entire college would like to thank you all for taking your
time out and being a part of this important discussion. Like every year, this year too we
have selected the topic, i.e. Global Terrorism, which is a matter of great concern not only
to our nation but for the whole world at large.
Global terrorism is described as the activities involving violence and crime with the in-
tention to promote religious or political ideologies across the world. Global terrorism
mainly consists of violence, threats and intimidation for pressurizing the government, In-
ternational group or community in general.
Global terrorism may occur in various forms such as attacks on foreign land, suicide
bombings, etc. The act of global terrorism accomplished in 2001, popularly known as
9/11 best defines the act of horror and dreadfulness. The World Trade Center in New
York was attacked by the members of some international terrorist groups which took
away many lives as a result. Though such act of terrorism on such a large scale is less
commonly seen, suicide bombers is highly common act of global terrorism that kill many
civilians and creating an atmosphere of fear and panic.
The main purpose of the terrorists is to spread terror and achieve their objective by
creating disharmony and chaos and by killing more and more innocent people. The ter-
rorists would normally select crowded areas so that maximum people get hurt and killed.
Global terrorism results in a large number of deaths along with numerous people getting
injured. Many people suffer the post-traumatic anxiety and stress especially if they have
been the eye witness to such act of terrorism.
When global terrorism occurs, it not only affects the country where it might have oc-
curred, it also affects the neighboring country along with creating economic imbalance
and increase in inflation rate worldwide. While terrorism is the burning issue today, it is
also a matter of discussion as most of the youths today are getting negatively influenced
by the people who spread terrorism for their own benefit. Though the reasons of terror-
ism may vary, the effect is always hazardous such as deaths and bloodshed.
Such act of terrorism and brutality should be avoided also because it doesn’t benefit
anyone in anyway; instead it only creates confusion, death toll and disorder worldwide.
Government must take appropriate actions as more and more youths are getting influ-
enced towards such activities. More aggression and less patience are been observed in
today’s youth. They adopt the path of violence and terrorism and create imbalance and
disharmony locally and on national and international level, if they are not heard or if
their wishes do not get fulfilled.
While efficient military interventions have helped in reducing the effect of terrorism in
some countries; the ever-growing intensity and impact of violent activities in certain
countries have resulted in an increased number of terror induced fatalities.
By taking proper actions and by spreading awareness, the government collectively with
organizations that work for humanity causes, etc can help minimize the anger of disori-

ented youths and stop terrorism.
Stricter defense measures at the border and global understanding and cooperation are
required for preventing the anti-social elements succeeding in their crimes. Though ter-
rorist acts accomplished by individual are irregular and unpredictable, they follow certain
familiar statistical patterns. This can help the government in recognizing the commonali-
ties between terrorist groups, their modus operandi, tactics, pattern and the impact of
counter-terrorism operations.
While this topic is debatable, I would like to rest my speech with the hope that every-
one listening to me, especially the youths would join hands in fighting terrorism and cre-
ating harmony across the world.

Ladies and Gentlemen – Warm Greetings to you all!
Welcome to the speech ceremony of today, and the topic today is ‘Family Planning’. As
we all know that there is a critical need to understand the significance of family planning
given the exponential rise in our country’s population. It has in fact become a nationwide
concern because the resources for the survival of human beings are scarce in comparison
to the fast growth rate of the population of our country. The increasing population will
not only slow down our country’s progress, but will also retard its economic and social
growth. It is indeed a scary scenario which is quite similar to the situation of a fast ticking
time bomb.
When we became an independent nation, our country’s population was hardly 30
crores, but thereafter within that half-a-century span, the population multiplied to al-
most hundred crores. Given this rate of growth, the population is being predicted to dou-
ble by the end of 2020. Whereas on the one hand, population is growing day after day,
there is a great threat of our natural resources becoming exhausted.
There had already been a raging debate on this issue and now it is high time to put
into practice the small family norm and making it compulsory for every citizen of this
country. The immediate benefit that we all can realize is in the form of a faster growth
rate of our country. Whatever level of progress takes place in our country; it will never be
adequate to meet the demand of our fast increasing population.
Since the benefits of development are reaped by everyone, it would result in the eradi-
cation of unemployment and poverty. This will also have a greater impact on the welfare
of its people who would be able to enjoy a better living standards as well as medical facil-
ities. It is certainly a matter of disgrace that a country like ours having a population of
one hundred crores could not bag single gold medal in the Olympic games held at Sidney.
This throws great light on the physical well being of the people of our country where
needless to say many are plagued by ill health and suffer from malnutrition.
However, this problem is not too big to be resolved. In fact, several European nations,
including China has been able to curb the growth rate of their popula-
tion by strictly implementing the scheme of family planning. The
fruits of their family planning schemes are for the world to see. They
not only enjoy a great living standard, but also give birth to more
champions in the field of both academics and sports.
The danger posed by rising population can be averted
by strictly implementing family planning schemes. How-
ever, this must involve the conscientious efforts of each
and everyone. We are expected to rise above our narrow
religious confines to be able to make such schemes a suc-
cess. Posterity is not going to forgive us, if we do not live up
to this call.

Warm Greetings Everyone – Welcome to the family planning and health scheme pro-
gram organized by the state health ministry.
Our state government has decided to undertake many more such programs with a
view to control the ever growing population. The history shows that earlier the couples
had to count on prayers for family planning because there were many couples who didn’t
had any knowledge of birth control techniques and they end up becoming parents of so
many children. Secondly, there were so many couples who couldn’t realize their dream of
achieving parenthood. It was not until 20th century that the only way to prevent giving
birth to children was realized to be a great deal of self control. However, in the present
times multiple family planning options have been discovered.
The term called “family planning“ is generally used in the context of “birth control”.
But there is an important point to note that family planning doesn’t only imply the use of
contraception. Family planning takes into consideration planning the birth of your child
according to the couple’s convenience preferably by putting a considerable amount of
gaps in between births so that both mother and child can be healthy.
Family planning involves sex education, contraceptives and natural techniques of fam-
ily planning. Contraceptives comprise barrier methods, such as condoms, diaphragms
and hormonal birth control. It also involves surgery (vasectomies for men or hysterec-
tomies for women) or intrauterine devices (place inside the vagina of a woman during in-
tercourse). Sex education helps families by educating youth about how the reproductive
system functions, how contraceptives are used, about birth control and truth related to
pregnancy.
The techniques of natural family planning impart women, including their sexual part-
ners how to keep a track of their fertility cycles. Couples can either abstain themselves
from sexual activities or use a protective method during fertile times in order to avoid
conceiving. Learning about the fertility cycle of a woman can also help such couples who
face challenges with preferred beliefs.
The WHO and other local as well as global health organizations are keen to find ways
to increase people’s knowledge about family planning and also encourage others to use
contraception along with other resources to make family planning effective. The organi-
zations are mainly keeping an eye on low-income communities and helping in the devel-
opment of such countries where family planning is not much prevalent. Such
organizations offer low-cost services related to family planning as well as sex education
for uninsured as well as low-income group patients.
Everyone is therefore requested to take a step forward and spread awareness about
family planning schemes, especially amongst the underprivileged and marginalized sec-
tions of society. If our nation cannot keep a check on its rising population then it cannot
grow in all the quarters and we will always be counted in the list of developing nations.
The aim of family planning is that population can be controlled, at the same time em-
powering the couples to achieve parenthood as and when they desire.

tion is the tool which removes all the differences among us and makes us capable to go
ahead together. It makes our challenging paths of the life very easy to lead. Getting qual-
ity education is like yoga and meditation as it requires concentration, patience and dedi-
cation. Without education, there is no difference between human beings and animals.
Education is a powerful tool capable to solve all the social, personal and family problems.
It is like a medicine which has capability to treat almost all the diseases. Getting educa-
tion is not only means to get good job, it means to make a good personality, to be
healthy and fit, to maintain hygiene, to be happy all time, to behave well to others, to
tackle all challenges of life and so many.
Education is most important to all of us to lead a happy life. Earlier the education sys-
tem in India was so poor and undisciplined. The kids of rich people were allowed to study
however kids of poor people were not allowed to study in the same school or college.
Poor people were forced to do labour in the fields only, which was the main reason of
discrimination among people in society, inequality, gender inequality, and lots of social is-
sues because of the lack of good education. Low level of education for poor people made
them vulnerable to the economic and political exploitation in their own country. There
has been made adequate provisions for the poor people in the Indian constitution in
order to remove inequality and ensure the empowerment and participation of people of
all levels equally.
The right for proper education is the birth right of everyone, restricting one from get-
ting proper education is the crime. Education helps us to understand between good or
bad, right or wrong and help us in taking decision in the favour of right ones. It helps us
in everything of wide range of problems. We can solve
the mysteries of this universe. Education is like magic
which helps us to learn all the magic to stay happily
on this planet. It keeps us free of all doubts, superstitions
as well as removes away all the social evils affecting the
society. Better educated people can safeguard their fam-
ily and nation in more secure and easy way.

sion, I would like to speech about the education and its values in our lives. Education
means a lot to us, without education we are nothing. We get motivated towards the edu-
cation from our childhood by our parents and from teachers when we start going to
school. If one is getting proper education from childhood, doing a best investment of
his/her life. Education is not only means to read, write or learn, it is the way to live posi-
tively and live life happily. It benefits everyone related to the person such as personal,
family, neighbours, society, community and country. It is the best tool to remove poverty
and inequality from the society. It provides everyone critical skills and technical knowl-
edge to serve better in their own life, family society and country.
Education provides better opportunity in future for viable economic growth. It helps us

us from the many diseases as well as helps fight the spread of communicable diseases
like HIV/AIDS, infections, etc. It helps to make future bright in all aspects. It gives proper
understanding to us to tackle to many problems all through the life. Through the proper

for any nation to go ahead, grow and develop among other strong nations. Well edu-
cated people of any country are the most precious assets of that country. Education is
the way to reduce mother and child mortality rate by improving their health.
Education brings transparency, stability, good governance as well as helps to fight
against graft and corruption. Still, in many backwards regions the meaning of education is
nothing. They are so poor that they spend their whole day in earning only two times
food. They understand that earning money from childhood is good instead of wasting
money in education. Education is really an amazing tool which raises income, improves
health, promotes gender equality, mitigates climate change, reduces poverty and so
many. It helps in making a peaceful environment at home or in office. Education provides

Respected Managerial Staff and My Dear Teachers – Warm Good Afternoon to all!
I, Krishna Avasthi, one of the founding members of our ABC NGO Group, welcome
everyone to our community hall. As you all know that we have successfully completed a
year and are now in the mode of expanding our group – this news gives me immense
pleasure and I am sure to all of you present here. There is no doubt that we have given
our sweat and blood to this NGO group and now our happiness knows no bounds after
seeing it flourish.
Therefore, on this wonderful occasion I had a great desire to deliver a speech on the
Value of Education because its education that drives us and makes us to give birth to
such NGO groups as ours and educate the deprived masses. However, there are some
loopholes in the way our NGO works and please allow me to point out those so that we
can make ourselves better than what we were yesterday.
Initially, from teaching 10 students to now looking after the education of 50 children –
it is clear that we are slowly and gradually bringing in more children so that many kids
can get benefitted out of it. Education is clearly a very valuable tool, if used well. By giv-
ing our kids quality education, we can empower them and raise them from their meager
existence. Education is the only thing that will remain with them for their lifetime and
will help them grow as a strong individual.
But I would like to say something else too. Even though we are doing really good and
are getting a positive feedback from the children, but I still feel that something is missing
and that is extra-curricular activities. For me, the true value of education lies not just in
reading books and appearing well in exams, but it’s also about its practical application.
We should not make our students merely robots, who just learn what we teach them in
classrooms and do nothing creative on their own. For this, we need to introduce other
activities for them besides academics, such as Dance, Singing, Painting, Poetry Writing,
Sculpting, etc. Of course, it is not possible for us to give our students all these facilities
due to the lack of funds, but we in some way or the other can surely work towards it. In
this way, our students will achieve an over-round development of their personalities.
Let’s also try and inculcate good values in them and develop in them the spiritual angle
so that they grow up not as self-centered individuals,
but someone who can give it back to society and con-
tribute towards the growth of humanity. I know
the way we are progressing on our path; we will
make our children strong and confident individuals
who will be able to deal with any tough situations while keeping
their morality intact with them.
This is all I have to say and now I would request everyone

Dear Children – Good Morning to everyone! How you all are doing?
I hope your studies are going smooth and you are enjoying your academic year in
terms of the extra co-curricular activities. There is a lot of enthusiasm and energy in the
young generation of today. This exuberance and energy is certainly evident in our each
and every student and hence not only as a principal of this school, but also as your well-
wisher, I want you to tap this energy and channelize it towards the right direction. It is
good to be a part of sports and other cultural activities that take place in our school, but
it is also important to develop a good reading habit.
So the reason behind paying a visit to your classroom is not only to discuss your con-
cerns, but also to encourage you in developing your reading habits. It is often said that
books are our best friends and it is indeed true because the knowledge that we derive
from reading books will remain with us forever intact and help us in our personal as well
as professional growth. I don’t see many students visiting library and reading books
there, which I see as a major cause of concern. The habit of reading books is very impor-
tant because it will help you become a better person. If nothing more than at least read
biographies of legendary people, whose lives are a source of inspiration for others and
can also inspire you in profound ways.
Other than being a source of inspiration, books also give us knowledge. Despite the
fact that technology has changed our lives in many ways and of course the way we read,
it has also better enabled us to easily reach out to diverse sources of knowledge with the
help of reading.
We must note that book reading transports us to a different world altogether where
we come across people with different languages and cultures from all over the world.
While reading different characters, we become one of them and try to relate with them
in many ways. Whatever we read, we of course try to take out the best from them and
different places, such as Middle East, Asia, Europe, America, Africa and the list just goes
on. Our minds also get exposed to humongous amount of knowledge that lies bare in
books and which helps us connect with deep thinkers as well as a variegated mix of emo-
tional hues.
Not only knowledge, but we also derive entertainment from reading books. Short sto-
ries, novels, travelogues, poems and even comic books provide us with thorough enter-
tainment. It also relaxes our mind because we then leave our worries behind and
become one with that virtual world. Most importantly, it engages our mind in a way that
perhaps no other medium does. Reading ignites our imagination and we become co-cre-
ators of that virtual world so much so that we also start animating stories in our minds.
Believe it or not, but this is indeed a healthy exercise for our brain.
I therefore urge all my students to inculcate this habit of book reading and make the
most of your time.

Dear Society Members and Children – I warmly welcome you all to my house! Hope
everyone is looking forward to the time when the construction of library would be com-
plete and it will then be furnished with a lot of interesting books for reading.
Today therefore I invited you all so that I can deliver a short speech on books and en-
courage everyone, children in particular to make the optimum use of our society library. I
also invite your suggestions and advice on how we can make this library a better place for
all. If anyone feels the lack of something, please feel free to reach me anytime. You are
also requested to spread the word in our neighboring societies so that they can also get
the advantage of it. The library membership is free for the society members and for the
outsiders it would be Rs. 1,000 for a year. I hope the library and its resources would be
best utilized without causing them any harm.
Now coming to the important habit of reading books, it is indeed a great habit and
books should be treasured. There are even such libraries, which have preserved ancient
manuscripts. These manuscripts enable us get to our roots and act as a window to allow
us travel back in the historical time and derive knowledge out of it.
However, with the giant leap in technology, digital libraries have replaced actual li-
braries in the physical world out there. These digital libraries just require pressing of but-
tons and with mobile phones and tablets being so handy anyone can access such libraries
anytime, anywhere, even while traveling. The only difference that we feel is instead of
turning pages after pages in case of a book, touch screen method is employed in phones
and tablets. Yes, it has brought a sweeping change in the world and has changed the way
people have been reading books in the previous times, but reading as a habit has still
held sway on the people’s minds.
However, at the same time we should not divert from our old habit of reading from ac-
tual books. Getting to feel the pages of books while reading has a different feeling alto-
gether and buying good books is indeed an excellent investment that will never go waste.
As John Milton, the great poet once said, Milton “A good book is the precious life-blood
of a master spirit, embalmed and treasured up on purpose to a life beyond life.”
Good books act as a beam of light that illumines our world and shows us the right
path. In the Bible, we do observe the author of a Psalm reiterating this fact, “Your word is
a lamp to my feet and a light for my path!”
It is therefore advisable to make a collection of
good books not only at your home, but library too so
that more and more people can be benefited out of
it. Make good books your companion and see what

school days. Our experiences would be a life lesson for you dear students. School is the
place where you all spend half of the day enjoying extracurricular activities including
dance, sports, plays, dramas etc. These activities prepare you all for the challenging real

where we learn how to behave to others and other skills however school education is
very necessary to be successful in practical life. Through school education we learn and
develop personality, mental skills, moral and physical powers. Without proper education,
one gets lack of all educational benefits in his/her life. Education is the only key to suc-
cess in personal and professional life. Education provides us various types of knowledge
and skills. It is a continuous, slow and secure process of learning which helps us in obtain-

Dear Friends – I hope this day finds you in the best of spirits!
Today on the speech giving day, I – Pratishtha Singh from Class-VIII (B) – would like to
deliver a speech on My School Life. I am sure we all will have something or the other to
say about our school lives. Isn’t it?
The very word ‘School’ carries a lot of emotions with it and we are transported to a
world where we spend half of our day studying, reading and writing, then enjoying other
co-curricular activities too such as sports, dance, music, etc. We imbibe a lot in the
school environment where our personalities and characters are shaped and we are pre-
pared for the nation’s building exercise. The foundation of our early years is very impor-
tant as it informs our future and this very foundation is being laid down by our school. I
am in VIII standard at present and so far my journey in this school has been excellent; in
fact whatever I am today I owe it all to my school.
I want to thank my parents for sending me to one of the best schools of our town and I
also want to thank our hon’ble principal and teachers for being so considerate all the
time and always working for the better prospects of their students. I especially want to
thank my class teacher for being so patient and kind with us and always showing ready
nature for resolving our queries. My school life has been best so far and there are no
laments or regrets for anything. My school has given me a lot many things, i.e. it has
made me confident, independent and knowledgeable. The fact that I have brought home
awards and trophies in Science and Maths subjects in Olympiad as well as inter-school
competition; reveal a lot about my schooling and the hard work that my teachers have

There is no reason to doubt that if such school as ours continues to thrive all across the
