a.Opening (10’)
Preparing students to follow the learning process such as praying,
checking students’ attendance, and preparing textbooks;
Motivating students contextually according to the benefits of learning about
oral and written transactional interaction texts that involve asking and
giving information related to suggestions and offers in daily life, for
example when students want to ask their friends the suggestions of
interesting movies for being watched on holiday.
Asking questions related to the material to be studied, for example: "Have
you ever asked for suggestions to your friend or given suggestion to your
friend?", Give the students time to give the answer.
Describing learning objectives or basic competence to be achieved; and
conveying the scope of the material and an explanation of the description
of activities based on the syllabus.
b.Main Activity(110’)
Students are asked to make groups.
Students are asked to see several videos about asking for and giving
suggestions and offers in English.
Asking and questioning related social functions, text structures and
linguistic elements used in videos that involve the activity of asking and
giving for information regarding suggestions and offers.
Identifying the expressions used to give and request information regarding
suggestions and offers in the video.
Students in groups read, discuss, and analyze the videos related to
structure, linguistic featurs, and expressions in asking for and giving
information about suggestions and offers and writing the results of their
discussion.
Each group groups the expressions in the video that are used to ask, give,
and respond to suggestions / offers.
Each group presents the results of the discussion about functions,
structures, and linguistic elements and expressions used to ask and give
information about suggestions and offers.
After listening to the presentation, the teacher explains about social
functions, the structure of the text, and the linguistic features and
expressions of asking and giving suggestions/offers.
c.Kegiatan Penutup (15’)
Providing feedback on the learning process:
"Well done everyone. It was a great discussion and most of you involved
involved in the discussion. How do you feel during the lesson? Is there
anyone want to say something? "
As a closing for learning activities, the teacher invites students to review
about suggestions and offers. The teacher asks several students to give
examples of suggestions and offers using expressions they have learned.
The teacher invites students to reflect on today's learning activities and tel
what must be prepared at the next meeting.
Providing the task of searching the schedule of films in theaters from the
internet / newspaper to be brought to the next meeting
Delivering plans for learning activities for the next meeting.
The teacher ends learning by praying and saying “see you next time!”

Students individually complete expressions that are suitable for the related
situation about asking and giving suggestions / offers on the worksheets
given to students.
In group, students discuss expressions that have been written by each
member related to the used to ask and give suggestions / offers.
Each member revises the expressions that are deemed inappropriate
which is written based on the results of discussion and then includes it in
the portfolio map.
Students issue a movie schedule that has been assigned in the previous
meeting.
In pairs, students are given time to design conversations about asking for
and giving suggestions / offers briefly about good films to watch on
weekends. Then the conversation was demonstrated and recorded using a
cellphone to be collected to the teacher through WA.
I. Follow up
1. Remedial
Peserta didik yang belum mencapai KKM (75) diberi tugas untuk mencari
beberapa video asking and giving suggestions and offers dalam bahasa
Inggris kemudian menuliskan list ungkapan untuk meminta dan memberikan
saran dan tawaran dalam bahasa Inggris. Setelah 1 minggu guru
mengevaluasi kemajuan kompetensi peserta didik dalam topik saran dan
tawaran dengan meminta membuat teks berisi topik tersebut. Kemudian guru
melaksanakan penilaian remedial.
2. Pengayaan
Bagi peserta didik yang mempunyai nilai di atas 75 diberi pengayaan berupa
tugas mandiri untuk membuat video pembelajaran/tutorial mengenai
ungkapan-ungkapan yang dapat digunakan untuk meminta dan memberikan
saran/tawaran dalam bahasa Inggris; emudian mempublikasi dengan l
diposting di youtube.
