Pada traktor tangan, jenis tenaga penggerak yang sering dipakai adalah
motor diesel. Selain motor diesel, ada yang menggunakan motor bensin atau
minyak tanah atau kerosin. Dengan menggunakan satu silinder, daya yang
dihasilkan kurang dari 12 Hp. Pada kerangka dipasang motor penggerak
dengan empat buah baut pengencang. Tujuannya adalah untuk memperoleh
keseimbangan traktor dan untuk menyesuaikan ukuran v-belt yang
digunakan. Engkol digunakan untuk menghidupkan motor diesel, sedangkan
untuk motor bensin dan minyak tanah menggunakan tali starter (Wikipedia,
2017).

V. CARA KERJA
1. Netralkan semua tuas seperti terlihat pada gambar
2. Pastikan bahan bakar tersedia dank ran bahan bakar pada posisi open
3. Posisikan lever accelerator sedikit diatas posisi idle
4. Posisikan decompression lever pada posisi A
5. Tarik handle starter secara perlahan sampai terasa berat/mentok dan stop

6. Release handle starter sampai mentok cover (foto 2)
7. Posisikan decompression lever pada posisi B
8. Tarik handle starter posisi lurus dengan kuat
9. Bila engine belum bias running ulangi mulai dari no 4
