Definition of Poem
Poem or rhyme is an English literary work in the form of writing written in beautiful
language. Usually, poems also have rhymes that are similar to or the same as one another. A
common mistake that often occurs is, people like to think that poem is a poem. In terms of
form, they are similar, but in fact poetry and rhyme are clearly different. A poem is written
intertwined with each word and the form of presentation is orderly and bound while poetry
is usually written in figurative language and has an aesthetic in its delivery.
Generic Structure
a. Stenza or usually called stanzas, stenza is a collection of lines that form a series
separated by 1 or more spaces. Stenza has no control over how many rows it
contains.
b. Line or line is a collection of words that stand in one line in contrast to a sentence, a
sentence is a group of words that begins with a capital letter and ends with a comma.
In the normal form of poetry there are several terms about the collection of lines that make

Example:
When the sun is then very tired and doesn’t want to sit and talk anymore
The lateness of the night then no longer gives ultimatums and fears
The chair on the terrace is then very comfortable when you are next to it
The pain became so heavy that when the sun came it still wanted him to sit up
I have moved

sad while looking at the sun and he tells about the longing he is experiencing.
Di kala matahari kemudian sangat lelah dan tak mau lagi duduk berbincang
Kursi yang ada di teras kemudian teramat nyaman jika kau disebelahnya
