Tree Analysis (FMEA)
FMEA is also one of the management systems that is widely used in various
automotive companies in the world. Those whose work positions are directly related to
the product or process should thoroughly understand this term. With this FMEA method,
you can analyze problems that will later arise in a product that will later be made or a
process that will be carried out. Because the problem that has the potential to arise has
been found first, then later you can determine how to prevent it. In the industrial world,
FMEA is a method of analyzing potential failures that is carried out before designing a
product that is realized or before mass production.
There are several reasons why FMEA is widely used, some of the purposes of FMEA are
as follows:
2. One of the tools that must be able to prove that a company has made an analysis
system on failure prediction systematically and legally.
1. The implementation of the method requires considerable input, since more details of
the process lead to geometric improvements in the analyzed area, and the number of
influencing events grows accordingly.
2. Fault Tree Analysis is a Boolean logic diagram, which shows only two conditions:
working and failing.
3. It is difficult to estimate the failure state of part of the parts of the process, since the
use of methods generally indicates that the process is either in good condition or in a
state of disrepair.
Various estimates of the risks that occur can be calculated by utilizing the RPN
formula, namely:
The last value needed is the detection value, because defects from this short are
still easy to check using the visual method, then the value is 1. For this reason, the
severity value will be multiplied by occurrence and multiplied by detection, then the
result is 10 x 8 x 1 = 80. So, the suggestion of improvement that can be done is to
standardize the settings of the soldering machine itself.
