Preventing Better Than Treating 'may be familiar to our ears.

In this article, the context is intended to better prevent

disease by immunization rather than having to experience the disease first.

As we know that immunization is giving vaccines to someone as a form of preventive action against certain
diseases. Vaccines help the body to produce antibodies. These antibodies function to protect against disease. The
vaccine not only keeps the child healthy, but also helps eradicate serious diseases that arise in childhood. By doing
immunization we also make prevention of the spread of diseases to the people in the environment around us.
Immunization is needed as a primary prevention effort that contributes greatly to the success of decreasing
morbidity and mortality in children under five.

Some considerations for immunization for children are:

1. The vulnerability of babies / children to an illness
2. The immunity of the baby / child
3. Contraindications
4. Consideration of complications
5. Cost of expenses, if the child has been affected by the disease then the costs incurred are certainly greater than the
costs for immunization)
6. Benefits and safety of vaccines
Immunization carried out on schedule will get optimal results and get an immune response regularly by considering
maternal antibodies, epidemiology etc.

Currently vaccines available in Indonesia are:

1. BCG for tuberculosis
2. Hepatitis B
3. Hepatitis A
4. DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus)
5. Polio
6. Measles
7. Rubella
8. HIB (Haemophilus Influenza B)
9. Influenza
10. Pneumococci
11. Human Papilloma Virus
12. Rotavirus

The purpose of vaccination or immunization is to reduce the number of people with a disease that endangers health
and can even cause death to sufferers. After we know the importance of immunization there are still other opinions
from the public, in some articles that I have read, there read Anti Vaccination / Immunization. Certainly, this article
is very contradictory to the importance of immunization. The anti-immunization movement has spread in the media,
even at seminars in universities. In my opinion, if some ordinary people read the article, of course they will believe,
because the article seems to be really based on research evidence that profit the names of experts, but when viewed
carefully the opinions of the experts are not as written, so that cause misunderstanding. Which will later make a few
people will not immunize their children. On this occasion I invite all of you to not be affected by the Anti-
Vaccination / Immunization article. Actually what is a vaccine? The vaccine itself can be interpreted as a small
number of antigens, antigens containing weakened viruses. In the body's defense system there are memory cells that
have resisted the vaccine, which later when there is an attack from the real virus, the body's defense system is easy
to attack because it has been trained when there are weaker antigens before. But remember, that does not mean the
vaccine is a virus, or something that is harmful to the body. Vaccines are only weak antigens that came before, so
that the body is ready to fight the real virus when the virus attacks. After knowing what vaccines are, also the
importance of vaccination and immunization. I hope the audience will understand and be able to immediately
immunize all your children who have not been immunized for certain diseases. Hurry up before it's too late. As we
know it is better to prevent than cure. So, let's care for children by giving immunizations according to the schedule
because if the child is healthy then both the child and the parents will be happy.
