GUNUNG KIDUL ENVIRONMENTAL HERO
Suswaningsih decades of dedication to the
environment have finally paid off. The results of his
efforts to cultivate critical land not only directly
benefited the community, but also brought
Suswaningsih to the highest award in the
Mrs. Suswaningsih
environmental field, namely Kalpataru in the
environmental service category.
Suswaningsih transformed large areas of land by herself and with her
hard work, with the aim of building resilience in critical land
conservation, building food security, and utilizing local food sources.

Since 19996, Suswaningsih has worked on 5 Ha of land, which started on

arid, barren and rocky land, turning it into greenery that is rich in
benefits. Suswaningsih develops food and wood crops, as well as local
plants.
With various woody plants, food crops using an intercropping
system with an area of ​903.7 meters, as well as conservation
development land covering an area of ​203 Ha.

The use of yard crops for consumption of chilies, mustard greens,

eggplant and other consumption plants, as well as the processing
and use of manure, is also carried out. Suswaningsih, over the years,
has diligently cared for this large area of ​barren land, making it lush
green again due to her tireless hard work.
Suswaningsih is known to many people because of her persistence
and hard work over the years in noble efforts, fertilizing barren land
for people who need it, maintaining the balance of the earth's
ecosystem.

And in October 2021, he received the Kalpataru Award in the

Environmental Service category. Kalpataru is an award given to
those who have contributed to environmental preservation in
Indonesia. This means that brilliant results do not just appear,
persistent and patient dedication is needed to achieve brilliant
results
