Definisi mitokondria

Discuss the significance of cell division and study carefully the process of mitosis

Gradien Proton : Konsekuensi dan perannya dalam mitokondria.

Konsekuensi utama dari gradien proton sel adalah produksi ATP. Dalam mitokondria, rantai
transpor elektron merupakan salah satu proses dalam menghasilkan ATP melalui serangkaian
proses respirasi seluler yang disebut dengan fosforilasi oksidasi. Dalam proses ini, Elektron
ditransfer dari kompleks protein penerima electron I menuju ke kompleks protein penerima
electron IV. Kemudian dihasilkan ATP melalui proses yang disebut dengan kemiosmosis.
Karakteristik penting dari membran bagian dalam

Membran dalam mitokondria memiliki ciri penting yaitu bentuknya yang berlipat lipat yang
membentuk krista. Bentuk yang berlipat lipat ini sangat penting untuk memperluas permukaan
dari membran dalam mitokondria, sehingga permukaan untuk pertukaran Proton menjadi lebih
luas. Membran yang berlipat lipat ini dapat menampung protein transport lebih banyak, sehingga
waktu yang diperlukan untuk menjalankan fosforilasi oksidatif menjadi lebih efisien.

Membran dalam mitokondria terdiri dari lapisan fosfolipid bilayer. Setiap fosfolipid mengapung
bebas di dalam lapisannya, tetap bersatu karena sifat hidrofobik pada ekor dan ujung setiap lipid
menahannya dalam orientasi tetap. Jika lubang dibuat pada penambatan, lipid lain kemungkinan akan
mengalir ke celah tersebut untuk mengisi celah tersebut. Meskipun membran akan terganggu dan
gradien proton (produksi ATP) akan terpengaruh, hal ini hanya bersifat sementara, karena rantai
transpor elektron dan protein pembawa akan membentuk kembali gradien tersebut dan produksi ATP
akan dilanjutkan. agar lubang pada membran bagian dalam mitokondria dapat dibuat dan
dipertahankan, fosforilasi oksidatif akan berhenti, dan oleh karena itu produksi ATP akan
berkurang sekitar 90%.

sehingga menyebabkan Aritmia.
