 Definisi
Proses penuaan adalah suatu proses menghilangnya
secara perlahan kemampuan jaringan untuk
memperbaiki diri atau mengganti diri dan
mempertahankan struktur dan fungsi normalnya
sehingga tidak dapat bertahan
terhadap jejas (termasuk infeksi) dan memperbaiki
kerusakan yang diderita
(Darmojo, 1994).

Proses menua didefinisikan sebagai perubahan yang terkait

waktu,bersifat universal, intrinsik, progresif dan detrimental. Keadaan
tersebut dapat menyebabkan berkurangnya kemampuan beradaptasi
terhadap lingkungan untuk dapat bertahan hidup (Nugroho, 2008).
 Perubahan Fisiologis Pada
Lansia

Makin lanjutnya usia seseorang maka

kemungkinan terjadinya penurunan
anatomik dan fungsional atas organnya
juga semakin besar. Adanya introduksi
hukum 1% menyatakan bahwa fungsi
organ akan menurun sebanyak satu
persen setiap tahunnya setelah umur 30
tahun.

bukan pada tampilan organ
atau organisma saat
istirahat,namun pada
bagaimana organisme
dapat beradaptasi terhadap
stres dari luar.
Menurut Boedhi Darmodjo (2004) menjadi tua
bukanlah suatu penyakit atau sakit, tetapi
adalah suatu peningkatan kepekaan atau
berkurangnya kemampuan adaptasi yang
sering dikenal dengan geriatric giant, dimana
lansia akan mengalami 13 i, yaitu:

8. Infeksi mudah terjadi
9. Impaksi (konstipasi)
1. Imobilisasi 10. Iatrogenesis (kesalahan
2. Instabilitas (mudah jatuh) diagnosis)

dan integritas kulit

SISTEM PENCERNAAN
Perubahan fisiologis pada lansia di sistem pencernaan
ialah perubahan
atrofik pada rahang sehingga gigi lebih muda tanggal.
Perubahan atrofik juga
terjadi pada mukosa, kelenjar dan otot-otot
pencernaan. Perubahan morfologik
tersebut akan menyebabkan perubahan fungsional
sampai perubahan patologik,
diantaranya gangguan menguyah dan menelan serta
perubahan nafsu makan.
 SISTEM KARDIOVASKULER

Lansia mengalami penurunan kemampuan dalam memompa darah

sehingga menurun kontraksi dan volumenya. Keadaan tersebut
ditambah dengan
penurunan elastisitas serta meningkatnya resistensi pembuluh darah
perifer sehingga tekanan darah pada lansia rata-rata meningkat.
 Sistem Pernafasan

Kekuatan otot-otot pernapasan mengalami

penurunan,elastisitas paru menurun,kapasitas
residu meningkat sehingga menarik napas lebih
berat.
