 APA ITU THALASEMIA ?

Thalasemia merupakan suatu sindrom kelainan darah yang diwariskan (inherited) dan merupakan kelompok
penyakit hemoglobinopati, yaitu kelainan yang disebabkan oleh gangguan sintesis hemoglobin akibat mutasi di
dalam atau dekat gen globin. Kelainan hemoglobin pada penderita thalasemia akan menyebabkan eritrosit mudah
mengalami destruksi, sehingga usia sel-sel darah merah menjadi lebih pendek dari normal yaitu berusia 120 hari
(Marnis, Indriati, & Nauli, 2018).

keadaan yang terjadi pada Thalasemia jenis ini sering
seseorang yang sehat disebut Cooley Anemia dan
namun orang tersebut dapat terjadi apabila kedua
mewariskan gen Thalasemia orangtua mempunyai sifat
pada anak-anaknya. pembawa Thalasemia
(Carrier).

Merupakan jenis
thalassemia yang
mengalami penurunan
sintesis dalam rantai
alfa.
 ETIOLOG
I
Thalasemia merupakan penyakit anemia hemolitik
herediter yang diturunkan secara resesif, ditandai oleh
penurunan produksi globin pada hemoglobin. Dimana
terjadi kerusakan sel darah merah di dalam pembuluh
darah sehingga umur eritrosit menjadi pendek (kurang
dari 100 hari). Kerusakan tersebut karena hemoglobin
tidak normal (hemoglobinopati) (Amin Huda, 2015)
 MANIFESTASI KLINIS
1. Anemia 
2. Menghambat pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak
3. Masalah tulang 
4. Pembesaran limpa
5. Diare
6. Sesak Nafas
 Pemeriksaan Penunjang
1. Darah tepi
• HB, gambaran morfologi eritrosit
• Retikulosit meningkat
2. Pemeriksaan khusus
• Hb F meningkat : 20 %-90% dari Hb total
• Elektroforesis Hb : hemoglobinopati lain dan mengukur kadar Hb F
• Pemeriksaan predigree: pemeriksaan terhadap kedua orang tua pasien
thalasemia mayor
3. Pemeriksaan lain: rontgen tulang tampak perluasan sumsum tulang sehingga
trabekula tampak jelas
