Perbedaan antara Angel Investor dan Venture Capital

Perbedaan pertama antara Angel Investor dan Venture Capital adalah Angel Investor
berinvestasi dengan menggunakan uang pribadi dan juga melakukan penilaian sendiri atas
investasi tersebut. Angel Investor sendiri dijelaskan sebagai High Net Worth Individuals
(HNWIs) yang merupakan individu-individu dengan aset keuangannya melebihi satu juta
dollar. Para Angel Investor ini biasanya melakukan investasi pada tahap seed/start-up yang
merupakan tahap awal sebuah bisnis, dimana bisnis tersebut biasanya berusia kurang dari
18 bulan. Selain memberikan uang, Angel Investor juga akan bersedia memberikan nasihat
beserta tuntunan untuk para entrepreneurnya jika dibutuhkan karena biasanya para
investor ini menyukai terlibat dalam proses entrepreneurial. Sedangkan untuk Venture
Capital sendiri adalah sebuah lembaga atau pihak ketiga yang menginvestasikan uang dari
pihak lain sehingga mereka memiliki kewajiban untuk menghasilkan keuntungan tertinggi
atas investasi tersebut. Oleh karena alasan ini, Venture Capital biasanya melakukan investasi
pada bisnis yang sudah masuk pada Later Stage dimana produk atau servis yang
diproduksi sudah tersedia secara luas. Perbedaan lainnya dengan Angel Investor adalah para
investor disini tidak bisa ikut menentukan keputusan investasinya.

The Difference between Angel Investor and Venture Capital

The first difference between Angel Investor and Venture Capital is that Angel Investors
invested their own money with their own judgment in their investment. Angel investor is
explained as High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) which are individuals with financial assets
excess of $1 Million. Angel Investors usually investing their money for business in
seed/start-up stage which is the initial stage of a business and the business is established
less than 18 months. Other than giving out their money, Angel Invetors are willing to give
advice and guidance for entrepreneurs if needed because they like being involved in the
entrepreneurial process. As for Venture Capital, they are an organization or a third party
that investing someone elses money, so they have obligations to make the highest possible
return on their investments. Because of this reason, Venture Capital usually invested in a
business that currently in the Later Stage where the products and services are widely
available. Other difference with Angel Investor is that the investors that using Venture
Capital have no say in the investment decisions.
