FOREWORD

Prosedur instalasi ini diperuntukkan untuk turbin horizontal type francis. Prosedur yang dimaksud akan menjelaskan terkait proses
instalasi turbin tesebut.
Metoda yang dijelaskan berdasarkan pengalaman dari tim flovel, namun tidak tertutup kemungkinan setiap site erection memilki
improvisasi tersendiri menyesuaikan kondisi dan permasalahan actual dilapangan dibawah pengawasan tim supervise.
Pedoman ini bersifat general dalam proses erection turbin francis horizontal. Drawing dan sketsa dalam panduan ini diambil dari part/
bagian turbin yang digunakan sebatas referensi saja.
Rencana erection yang akan dilakukan, dibutuhkan beberapa hal terlebih dahulu, sebagai berikut :
1. Drawing terkait
2. Perjanjian
3. Schedule instalasi
4. Barang dan material
5. Perlengkapan dan alat –alat
6. Prosedur instalasi
7. HSE
Selain hal diatas, tim erection harus memhami terkait beberapa informasi detail dari, sebagai berikut :
1. Laying earthmat dan first stage embedded parts
2. Common base frame, draft tube & draft tube cone, spiral casing, distributor, butterfly valves, semua part
tersebut dikelompokkan kedalam under static water path equipments.
3. Runner and generator akan di assembly secara tersendiri, dikelompokkan kedalam Under rotary equipments.
Sedangkan shaft seal assembly merupakan bagian dari part rotated dan static.
4. Hydraulic system, cooling water piping and wiring of control akan dites setelah instalasi turbin, static dan rotary
parts selesai

2. Pre‐Conditions & Preparations

Mengacu pada schedule instalasi, pelaksanaan erection baru bisa dilaksanakan setelah first stage concrete selesai. Pada saat tahap
concrete, bagian untuk fondasi bolt turbine tersedia dan pastikan semua part yang tertanam di install berdasarkan dan mengacu pada
drawing.
Distributor turbin yang dikirimkan ke site pada umumnya dalam kondisi telah di assembly. Generator di instal
dan di alignment setelah instalasi turbin selesai.

2.1. Preliminary checking

 Sebelum memulai erection, pastikan semua civil work di power house telah selesai
 Periksa foundation cut out dan foundation pocket berdasakan drawing dan testing pengoperasian
crane serta sistem brake crane. Jika memungkinkan lakukan load test untuk crane di lokasi site
 Periksa level elevasi dari semua sole plates dan level floor
 Periksa axis penstock terhadap center line machine. Hasil pembacaan harap di record
 Periksa semua ketersediaan material di gudang atau tempat penyimpanan, hal ini sangat menentukan
kelancaran proses erection
 Periksa ketersediaan peralatan dari installer dan manpower skilled yang mereka miliki.
 For temporary, install drainage pump di drainage pit, jika tidak memungkinkan pemasangan drainage
pump secara permanen

2.2. Preconditions

The following preconditions to be fulfilled before commencement of the turbine installation;


 Tandai center line dari setiap unit (XX dan YY axis) dan tandai 1 titik elevasi di dinding atau pada position yang
fixed sebagai referensi untuk elevasi
 Tentukan center line dari penstock, yang telah di install oleh contractor sipil sebagai referensi center line
 Foundation pocket untuk anchor bolt pada common base frame harus di inspeksi terkait untuk memastikan
posisi telah benar.
• Note 1: Dalam hal untuk mencapai kesempurnaan fungsi setelah assembly, kebersihan adlaah prioritas selama proses
instalasi. Terkait hal diatas, komponen turbin harus di protect dari debu dan material yang bersifat kotor. Akan lebih baik :
selama instalasi part rotating, hanya pekerja dengan pakaian bersih dan sepetu bersih yang di izinkan meng akses site.

3. Elevation of the unit

Ketika supplier turbin memulai pekerjaan erection, titik axis dan elevasi dari koordinat powerhouse dan posisi
penstock yang digunakan sebagai referensi berdasarkan kondisi exist. Titik rerferensi setiap center line unit harus
ditandai dan dilakukan oleh Surveyor atau kontraktor sipil berdasarkan protokol yang ada. Titik referensi yang telah
ditetapkan ini akan digunakan sebagai acuan Instalasi ME package.

3.1. Main axis of the unit

Positioning / penempatan spiral turbin (spiral casing) menentukan tingkat presisi elevasi dari semua equipment turbin
dan generator. Secara teoritis, centerline horizontal dari turbin merupakan referensi Axis (garis tengah) samahalnya
dengan Centerline shaft (poros) sebagai referensi elevasi. (contoh, EL. 487.20 m). Secara praktis, namun, centerline
sulit untuk ditetapkan secara pengukuran.
Hal penting lainnya, alignment yang tepat dari inlet pipe spiral case dengan memperhatikan titik koneksi dari penstok berdasarkan
elevasi dan posisinya. Horizontal centerline dari spiral case harus di alignment dengan centerline horizontal dari penstock.

Oleh karena itu, deviasi titik sumbu axis inlet pipe secara teoritis pada bidang horizontal dan vertikal harus diukur dan
dicatat.
3.1.1 Setelah pemeriksaan gap antara pipa penstock dan sprial casing, harap di record / dicata.
3.1.2 Kemudian, periksa jarak dari inlet pipe, BFV (butterfly valve) & U/S pipe
3.1.3 Potong pipa penstock or U/S pipe yang terhubung ke BFV sebagaimana yang ditunjukkan di drawing / dapat
disesuaikan, (jika dibutuhkan) untuk mengakomodasi proses assembly.

4. Assembly Procedure
Sebelum erection, Installer untuk mempelajari semua instruksi dan petunjuk untuk memperlancar penggunaan crane. lakukanlah Load
test sebelum melakukan pengangkatan atau pemindahan peralatan yang berat.
Proses concrete untuk peralatan powerhouse akan selesai dalam 3 tahap, sebagai berikut :

1st stage concrete (refer to drawing no‐ F0P1112‐1830502 and Sketch‐1A & 1 B)
2nd stage concrete to be done after base frame erection. (refer to drawing no:‐ F1P1112‐1830503 and Sketch‐2)
3rd stage concrete,To be done after Draft Tube erection & Generator Alignment(refer to drawing no:‐ F1P1112‐1830504

 Bersihkan permukaan lantai dimana frame akan ditempatkan.


 Sebelum instalasi dari base frame, periksa semua fondasi anchur dan pockets pada posisi yang sesuai.
 Pertama sekali,tentukan posisi dari base frame
 Base frame dikirim dalam dua bagian, yakni upper base frame dan lower base frame. bagian tersebut
perlu di alignment secara terpisah. dan di welding dengan main frame di lapangan setelah alignment
spiral (refer sketch - 1B)

Sketch‐ 1 B
 Level dasar secara terpisah yang paling dekat sekitar ± 1mm sesuai titik sumbu axis
horizontal.
 Gunakan spirit level untuk pengecekan base frame
 Semua anchor bolt harus diwelding dengan rebar saat concrete.
 Sekarang, base frame bisa di concrete dan menunggu curing time dan setting secara
permanent. (Refer – sketch 2)

4.2. Installation of the Horizontal Spiral Casing

 Refer drawing no. F1P1112‐1811601 (Spiral assembly) and sketch No‐ 3A , 3B & 3C.
 Setelah casing dikeluarkan dari packing, periksa check assembly turbin untuk memastikan
kerusakan fisik
 Periksa dan bersihkan spiral casing dan jika dibutuhkan cek gap guide vane saat kondisi tertutup
 Sumbu utama axis generator ditetapkan dan ditnadai dengan bracket dan bench marks
 Turunkan casing turbine secara perlahan kelantai power house menggunakan crane.
 Setelah peletakan spiral casing pada frame, cocokkan semua centre lines & elevation dengan
menggunakan jacking secara vertical movement dan lateral movements

Sketch ‐3A (PICTORIAL VIEW OF SPIRAL CASING ASSEMBLY)

Center inlet pipe harus dialignment berdasarkan center pipa penstock. Hal ini bisa menggunakan bolt, jacking, support
danlainnya.
 Periksa elevation inlet dari spiral
 Periksa verticality dari kedua sisi yakni bagian mekanik spiral casing dan bagian extension dari flange
menggunakan plumb line(perangkat untuk memastikan verticality) dan alat ukur lainnya, initnya harus benar
benar vertikal.(as shown in fig. 3B)
 Periksa jarak dari ujung spiral ke ujung penstock dan harus berdasarkan drawing
 Semua parameter yang dialignment harus direcord / dicatat pada lampiran protocol

Posisi tegak lurus (perpendicular) dari setiap komponen diperiksa menggunakan piano wires disepanjang sumbu utama,
menggunakan plumps, untuk memeriksa verticality dan horizontality dari spiral casing berdasarkan gambar dibawah, jarak referensi
harus sama antara A = A, B = B, Elevation X = X & Elevation Y = Y. Setelah aligment spiral case secara horizontal, penyesuaian

alignment secara vertikal harus disesuaikan, kunci spiral casing ke bagian base frame, tambahkan welding anchor bar jika
dibutuhkan untuk stiffner / perkuatan yang lebih baik.

 Ketika elevasi di adjust menggunakan levelling jack dan levelling deck, spiral casing dikunci di posisi
adjustment ini

4.3. Installation of Draft Tube

 Setelah spiral casing dipasang dengan benar dan dikunci dengan kuat, draft tube cone harus diturunkan
dan di letakan di posisi lubnagnya, draft tube bend (bagian yang melukuk), harus diereksi dan dibaut
dengna spiral casing
 Setelah semua draft tube bend dikencangkan, angkat draft tube cone, dan kencangkan dengan sisi
bawah draft tube bend

 Periksa semua parameter untuk kelengkapan assembly, spiral case, draft tube bend, cone, selanjutnya
cone dikunci dan diwelding dengan tambahan support
 Dudukan fondasi dan area lainnya pada spiral casing dan draft tube cone sebagaimana yang
diperuntukan untuk concreting seperti yang ada pada drawing, namun pekerjaan concrete untuk spiral
casing dan draft tube cone juga bisa dilakukan setelah erection dan alignment generator.
 Lepaskan draft tube bend untuk erection dan alignment generator setelah spiral casing dan draft tube
cone di kunci dengan benar

4.4. Installation of Butterfly valve/MIV


Reference Drg No‐ T1C6000‐7220001 Main assly. And Sketch‐5
 Instalasi MIV or BFV bisa dimulai setelah masa curing time dari concrete spiral casing ataupun sebelum
concreting dari spiral casing jika spiral casing telah dikunci dan disupport dengna benar.
 Spiral, MIV dan draft tube bisa diconcrete sejalan untuk menghindari ketidak sesuaian sewaktu concrete,
adjust levelling dan center line generator
 Check verticality dan level elevation dari spiral casing dan bersihkan permukaan flange spiral casing,
pastikan tidak ada bagian yang menonjol (seperti partikal yang nempel)
 Masukkan loose flange kedalam bagian pipa downstream MIV sebelum diturunkan
 Bersihkan the sole plate setelah aligning dan sebelum penurunan MIV
 Ukur jarak antara pipa penstock dan flange dari flange spiral casing
 Ukur kebutuhan panjang dari MIV dan juga upstream dan downstream pipe.

Sketch‐5 (MIV ASSEMBLED WITH SPIRAL CASING)

 Terkait ppanjang potongan additional dari penstock atau dari upstream pipe MIV (potongan disesuiakan dengan
batasan yang tersedia pada upstream MIV pipe.
 Turunkan MIV diatas base plate (sole plate) dan adjust elevasi dan center line w.r.t spiral
 Pastikan permukaan gap antara downstream pipe dan flange dari spiral casing seimbang.
 Kencangkan bolt pada fondasi MIV dengan memperhatikan gaps sekita 10 mm antara downstream pipe MIV dan
spiral casing, sperti yang ditunjukkan (Refer Drg. No. T1C6000‐7220001 )
 Kencangkan bolt penghbung loose flange dan spiral casing
 Buat temporary support ke pipa sisi upstream
 Persiapakan pengelesan kahir dengan penstock
 Buat secara paralel gap sekitar 2 hingga 4 mm antara bagian ujung BFV dan penstock; pengelesan yang sesuai
Clits ditunjukkan oleh gambar untuk menghindari pergeseran dan kesalahan alignment selama pengelesan joint
pipa. Lakukan juga tag weld secara diagoanal pada arah yang berlawanan. Sebelum memulai melanjutkan
welding joint pipa.
 Selama proses welding, tetap periksa level elevasi dan center line dari center MIV
 Dipastikan menjaga, axial margin 5 mm dan jarak bebas (floating clearance) sekitar 5 mm antara sleeve dan
waher MIV dibagian telapak (bawah) dan assembly angkur (Refer Drawing No:‐ T1C6000‐722000 ), Setelah
pengelasan, release the MIV for foundation bolt concreting.
 Check kembali alignment MIV setelah curing time dari fondasi

 Remove elbow draft tube seperti yang ditunjukkan sketch 6A dan 6B dan periksa
verticality dari spiral casing dari kedua sisinya dan periksa level ele vasi
menggunakan s piral pada center line nya.
 Pelepasan draft tube bend dilakukan dalam dua phase
 Pertama, dismantle remove the cone -1 (intermediate piece), seperti gambar 6A,
dibawah.

 Selanjutnya, remove the cone -2 dengna melepeaskan bolt flanged disisi downstram disk, seperti gambar
dibawah

 Rotor dan stator dikirimkan secara terpisah, Mohon mengacu pada manual book generator untuk prosedur
assembly (Rotor treading)
 Final alignment dilakukan dengan menggunakan taper wedges (sim plate) pada base plate. Dua taper
wedges (sim plate) ditumpuk. Bila perlu gunakan jacking bolt saat final alignment.
 Sebelum menempatkan generator diatas baseframe nya, pasang shaft seal pada bagian shaft generator
sesuai urutan yang ditunjukkan pada drawing no. F1P1112-1813201, jika part shaft seal terdiri satu bagian.
In case, part shaft seal terdiri dari dua bagian dapat di install kemudian.
 Tempatkan generator pada tempat yang pas dan align hingga up to 90 – 95 % dengan bnatuan jacking bolt.
Support harus ditempatkan diantara gap base generator dan common base frame. Align shaft generator
sejajar dengan spiral casing dan jaga elevation, center distance, gaps dan sesuaikan dimensi sesuai drawing
dan tinjau juga pada sketch 6C.

 Align shaft rotor wrt, spiral casing yang, telah dialignment menggunakan dial gaug dan catat hasilnya pada
protocol test

4.5 Installation of Runner


 Runner mounting harus sejajar dengan shaft generator
 Bersihkan runner dan angkat runner menggunakan mounting device dengan crane
 Masukkan runner secara perlahan ke draft tube yang disisi turbin. Selama proses memasukkan, pastikan
tidak merusak labyrinth.
 Setelah runner masuk seutuhnya ke shaft generator, remove mounting device

 Lepaskahn penutup bagian bawah dengan menggunakan special handling device, seperti yang ditunjukkan

Step - 2

Seperti yang ditunjukakn pada Fig 7A & 7B, perangkat special lifting harus digunakan untuk instalasi runner. Perangkat ini
untuk pemasangan (mounted) runner. Runner dinaikkan menyesuaikan posisi vertical dari pernagkat dengan
menggunakan crane power house dan menurunkan serta menggeser shaft generator untuk fixing position

Sketch – 7B (RUNNER MOUNTING ARRANGEMENT)


 Runner mempunyai taper bore dan harus di mounted on sleeve yang merupakan bagian. Shaft rotor generator.
 Kira kira hampir 90% dari pemasangan / pemasukkan runner ke shaft rotor generator, sisa 10%, cara mounting
akan dilaukan menggunakan hydraulic pressure (Refer sketch 7B)
 Mount hydraulic sesuai drawing dan arahan specified menggunakan guideline runner mounting.
 Seperti yang tunjukkan sketch – 8, special runner dilepaskan. Dan alat ini nantinya bisa digunakan untuk
dismantle runner.

Sketch‐8 (RUNNER DISMOUNTING ARRANGEMENT)

Setelah mounting the runner, gap labyrinth dicek kembali sesuai drawing assembly turbin (F1P1112-1815601) and sketch
– 9, dan jika dibutuhkan, re-adjust generator untuk memastikan equal gap.
Penutup flange draft tube cone bagian atas, di pasangkan kembali dan draft tube bend di install dan dikencangkan
pada bagian penutup cover dan draft tube cone

4.7 Shaft Seal Assembly Procedure


1. Shaft seal assembly dilakukan setelah alignment generator dan turbin, karena semua part / elemen dari
shaft seal terdiri dari 2 bagian.

2. Bersihkan semua permukaan pada bagian yang akan menempel dari kedua pieces tersebut, untuk menghindari
kebocoran.
3. Pasang / insert seal sesuai gambar
4. Pasang semua part yang termasuk dalam assembly dari shaft seal dan sesuaikan urutan pemasangannya,
sebagaimana yang ditunjukkan dalam drawing.

5. Auxiliary System

5.1. Cooling water system


Cooling water inlet diambil dari pond. Dan terdapat duplex filter sebagai penyaring aiar yang masuk. Colling
water dibutuhkan untuk pendingin bearing oli dan shaft seal

5.2. Bearing Lubricating oil system


Generator bearing oil lubrication di design secara berkesinambungan menyuplai lubrication oli ke bearing
generator dari rotor generator.
Refer Hydraulic schematic diagram, Drawing No. F3P1112‐183303 (1/2) & (2/2) & control philosophy attached
for detail information.
5.3. Oil Pumping Unit (OPU)
OPU dibutuhkan untuk pengeoperasianturbin dan bfv secara normal dan emergency.
Ref. Drawing No. F3P1112‐1833001 (Hydraulic schematic control diagram, for turbine and BFV control).

5.4. Drainage & dewatering (DDS)


In order to meet drainage and dewatering requirement of units, a common drainage system and separate
dewatering system shall be provided. Ref. Drawing No. F3P1112‐1832501 (for Drainage System).

A common Cooling water system for 2 units shall be provided to meet cooling water
requirement of Generator bearing lub oil heat exchanger and shaft seal for each unit. It
is proposed to meet the pressure and flow requirements water shall be taken from the
penstock of upstream of MIV. Application, description & scheme are given below. This
description is to be read with Drg. No. F3C1112-1842001.

1.0 APPLICATION

Cooling water is required for following purpose.


1.1 Heat Exchanger of Generator Bearing lub oil system.
1.2 Shaft Seal.

2.0 DESCRIPTION

For applications stated above, pressurized cooling water is required. Water for this
purpose is tapped from penstock of upstream of MIV. A ball valve is provided at the
takeoff point of the penstock and a common header shall be made.

A Globe valves is provided in common header line, which shall be used for
regulating the flow. A pressure gauge shall be provided in common header line for
local indication.

1 No. Duplex coarse basket filter (500 micron) is provided in common header line
for coarse filtration of the water. Normally one element of duplex coarse basket
filter remains in circuit and other shall be standby.

After Duplex coarse basket filter (500 micron) 2 nos. Pressure reducing valves (1
main+1 standby) are provided in the common header line to reduce the inlet pressure
(penstock pressure) to 3.0-4.0 bar (system pressure). Isolation valves (Gate type)
shall be provided before and after Pressure reducing valve for isolation purpose
during maintenance. A Pressure relief valve is also provided for the safety of the
system in the event of malfunctioning of pressure reducing valve. A pressure gauge is
provided after pressure reducing valve to indicate the reduced system pressure.

1 No. Duplex fine basket filter (100 micron) is provided for supplying water to Shaft
Seal & Generator Bearing lube oil heat exchange. Normally one element of duplex
fine basket filter remains in circuit and other shall be standby. Duplex filter are basket
type & manually change over, back flashing also can be done by manually operating
the back flash valve. A pressure gauge is provided in line for local indication after fine
filter to indicate the system pressure.

After bifurcation line, an electrical actuated Globe valve is provided for each unit to
automatic ON/OFF the flow in each unit. A pressure gauge and a switch is provided
in line for local indication to indicate the unit system pressure and give low
switching contact to control panel in case of low pressure.

2.1 Shaft seal

To prevent the entry of operating water in to shaft seal area, filtered water supplied
to shaft sealing arrangement. Supplied water shall be partly mixed to operating
water and get drained through shaft seal draining pipe which leads to drainage
sump.

A globe valve has been provided to control the flow in this line. A pressure gauge shall
be provided in shaft seal line to display pressure locally and a pressure switch and
flow indicator with switch shall be provided in shaft seal line to give low switching
contact to control panel to give contact in case of low pressure/flow.

2.2 Generator bearing lub oil heat exchanger

The cooling water to Generator Bearing lube oil heat exchanger shall be supplied for
the cooling of Lubrication oil. A Globe valves is provided, which shall be used for
regulating the flow to heat exchanger. A pressure gauge is provided in the inlet of
the heat exchanger to monitor the inlet pressure.

A ball valve with blind plug shall be provided at outlet of heat exchanger for
flushing. A flow indicator in the outlet line of heat exchanger is provided for the local
indication of flow. The discharge from the Generator Bearing lub oil heat exchanger at
outlet is conveyed to the tailrace.

3.0 Control System:

A suitable control system shall be provided in LT distribution panel which is located


in Control room.

The actuator shall be suitable for 240 V ± 10%, 1 phase /400 V ± 10%, 3 phase, 50
Hz AC supply.

Piping shall be steel electrical welding (ERW) type of medium class, as per IS: 1239.
Various control & check valves shall be of cast steel of pressure rating 16 kg/cm2.

(A) General Requirement

1. Spares and accessories to be supplied with main oil pumping units only. Loose supply
items of main OPU to be properly packed and supplied with OPU.
2. All pressure switches to be set at supplier’s works at the values specified.
3. Accumulator is to be charged with N2 at the required pressure during testing at works
for no leakage test and its functions. Accumulator to be discharged before dispatch.
4. All the functional requirement of OPU and pressure test is to be carried out at supplier
works and report is to be submitted prior to dispatch.
5. Dispatch list is to be sent prior to dispatch indicating the loose items of main OPU
also.
6. Pressure test is to be carried out at 180 bar for 30 minutes with side source of supply
for no leakage.
7. Supplier has to supply the hydraulic circuit with bill of material, assembly drawing,
electrical wiring diagram etc. for approval.
8. Nut driver operated TB to be provided.
9. ACP 46.0 shall be provide as the actual valves are fitted with respect to solenoid
operation (a & b).

witnessed by FEPL

¾ Functional test including the emergency operation through the accumulator.


¾ Pressure test at the mentioned test pressure for 30 minutes.
¾ Dimensional check.
¾ Nitrogen leakage test.

1. INTRODUCTION:
In order to meet drainage and dewatering requirement of units, a common drainage system
and separate dewatering system shall be provided.

This description is to be read in conjunction with schematic diagram no. (Drawing no.
F3C1112-1841001) for Drainage System and (Drawing no. F3C1112-1841002) for
Dewatering System.

For location of the drainage sump and dewatering sump, refer Power House layout drawing no.
F3P1112-1830101.

2. DESCRIPTION:

(2.1) Drainage System:

The drainage system is common for 2 units.

The leakage water from power house, equipment leakage and shaft seal shall be conveyed to
the drainage sump and then the water shall be pumped to EL. 492.00 m (i.e. above Service
Bay level).

Water from drainage tank shall be pumped to tailrace by 2 nos. of Submersible Pump. The
drainage system mainly consists of two nos. of Submersible pump with pipes, non-return &
isolating valves, pressure gauge and level switch etc.

Pump #1 shall be started when the water level reached to the level at EL 483.25 m. In case,
Pump #1 is not working or not able to cope-up the discharge requirement resulting rise of water
level in the sump at EL 483.75 m than pump #2 shall starts. If further, the dewatering
requirement of drainage sump shall not cope-up due to any reason, alarm signal provision is
also provided for very high water level EL 484.25 m in the drainage tank, which shall be
used for the shutdown of unit. Pumps shall be stopped when the water level reached to lower
level EL 482.75 m in drainage tank.

To control the above operation, a set of level switches are provided in sump to give signals
for auto operation through local control panel. A pressure gauge shall be provided in
common header line for local indication. A check valve at each pump outlet shall be provided
to maintain unidirectional pump flow and a gate valve at each pump outlet shall be provided
for isolating purpose.

Piping shall be steel electrical welding (ERW) type of medium class, as per IS: 1239.
Various control & check valves shall be of cast steel of pressure rating 10 kg/cm². The material
of pump casing shall be Aluminium alloy and impeller shall be stainless steel.

(2.2) Dewatering System:

The Dewatering system shall be provided to dewater all hydraulic portions from penstock to
draft tube gate. Dewatering System consists of two nos. mobile submersible pumps common
for two units, with flexible hose pipe, check valve & cables etc. A check valve at pump outlet
shall be provided to maintain unidirectional pump flow.

For dewatering of the penstock and spiral, isolating valves are provided at the upstream and
downstream of MIV. Initially water shall be dewater to tailrace through draft tube up to the tail
water level and rest of the water shall be pumped after closing the draft tube gates and pumping
from draft tube opening.

Whenever it is required to dewater the unit’s mobile submersible pumps shall be lowered in the
draft tube opening and unit can be dewatered. For longer life of the pump motor set portable
submersible pumps shall be kept in to store instead of kept in to water.

A mobile submersible pump-motor set with PVC flexible pipe is provided. The material of
pump casing shall be Aluminium alloy and impeller shall be stainless steel.

3. CONTROL SYSTEM:
A local control & indication panels for drainage system is provided. Following controls &
indications shall be provided:

(i). The switchgear and controls shall be suitable for automatic and manual operation of
pumps.

(ii). The switchgear and controls shall comprise direct on line motor starters, relays, protection,
phase sequence protection device, auto/manual selector switch, push buttons, indicating
lamps etc.

(iii). The selector switches shall be provided for mode change over auto-manual operation and
pump main-stand by role etc.

(iv). Start / stop push buttons for local control and hooter (230 V AC operated).

(v). Emergency stop push button switch.

(vi). Sufficient no. of M. C. B for incomer feeder.

The motor shall be suitable for 400 ±10% V, 3 phase, 50 Hz AC supply.

For dewatering, submersible pump-motor set 02 nos. with starter box and socket pin for
connection of set is provided.
