UJI KOMBINASI ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN TITANUS

(Leea aequata L.) DENGAN POVIDON IODIN

ABSTRAK

Salahsatupendekatanuntukmengobatipenyakit infeksi adalah penggunaan

ekstrak tanaman, baik secara tersendiri atau kombinasi antibakteri dengan ekstrak
tanaman. Daun titanus (Leea aequata L.) merupakan tanaman yang digunakan
sebagai obat tradisional. Daun dan rantingnya digunakan sebagai antiseptik dan
pengobatan luka. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek sinergis antara
kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun titanus dan povidon iodin terhadap
Staphylococcusaureus,Staphylococcusepidermidisdan Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
PengujianinidilakukandenganmetodeKirbeyBauer.Kombinasi didasarkan
pada data KHM masing-masing sampel uji dan dikombinasikan sesuai metode
checkerboard dan disk diffusion testing. Konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun titanus
yang digunakan adalah 6,25 mg/ml dan Konsentrasi povidon iodin yang
digunakan adalah 0,5%. Hasil uji efektifitas antibakteri kombinasi dapat diketahui
dengan mengukur diameter zona hambat kombinasi yang dibandingkan dengan
hasil uji tunggal. Hasil uji efek sinergis menunjukkan peningkatan atau
membentuk seperti jembatan pada atau dekat persimpangan dari dua zona hambat
pencadang kertas sampel uji terhadap Staphylococcusaureus, Staphylococcus
epidermidis dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa yang diletakkan dengan jarak berturut-
turut 7,29 mm, 7,43 mm dan 7,45 mm.
Diameter zona hambat kombinasi nilai KHM ekstrak etanol daun titanus
dan povidon iodin adalah 8,15 mm, 8,3 mm dan 8,3 mm terhadap Staphylococcus
aureus,Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Hasil uji efek
antibakteri kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun titanus dan povidon iodin menunjukkan
tidak terbentuknya jembatan pada persimpangan dari dua zona hambat ataupun
tidak terbentuk zona hambat yang saling memanjang terhadap Staphylococcus
aureus,Staphylococcus epidermidis dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Hasil
kombinasi secara keseluruhan menunjukkan sifat indefferent.

 ANTIBACTERIAL COMBINATION TEST OF ETHANOL EXTRACT
TITANUS LEAVES (Leea aequata L.) WITH POVIDONE IODINE

ABSTRACT

An approach that could be used to cure various infection disease is by

using plant extracts, either itself or the combination plant extract and antibacterial.
Titanus leaf (Leea aequata L.) is one of the plants including traditional medicines,
its leaf and branches has been used as an antiseptic and wound healing. The aim
of this research is to determine the synergistic effect between the ethanol extract
oftetanusleavesandpovidoneiodineagainstStaphylococcusaureus,Staphylococcusep
idermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
This research used solid diffusion Kirbey Bauer method. Combination in
this research was based on MIC data for each sample test and combined according
to checkerboard and disk diffusion testing method. Concentration of the ethanol
extract was 6.25 mg/ml and povidone iodine was 0.5%. The combination
effectiveness could be determined by measuring the diameter of inhibition zone
extract combination compared with the single tests result. The result of synergistic
effect testing showed improvement or forming such a bridge near the intersection
of two inhibition zone of paper disk sample test against
Staphylococcusaureus,Staphylococcusepidermidisand Pseudomonas aeruginosa
were placed at a distance of 7.29 mm. 7.43 mm and 7.45 mm.
Diameter of inhibition zone combination between titanus extract and
povidone iodine are 8.15 mm. 8.3 mm and 8.3 mm
againstStaphylococcusaureus,Staphylococcusepidermidis and Pseudomonas
aeruginosa. The test result of the combination of ethanol extract titanus leaves and
povidone iodine indicate no formation of bridge occurre at intersection of two
inhibition zone or they don’t form a mutually inhibitory zone extends for
Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas
aeruginosa. The overall combination results show indifferent effect.
