Kata Pengantar

Mulai tahun ajaran 2016/ 2017 SMA Negeri 1 Kota Sukabumi


menyelenggarakan program pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Sistem
Kredit Semester (SKS). Pada tahun pelajaran 2017/ 2018 sesuai dengan
terbitnya peraturan baru yang mengatur tentang penyelenggaraan SKS di
SMA maka SMAN 1 Sukabumi menyesuaikan pola SKS dari SKS pola lama
menjadi SKS pola baru yang di dalamnya terdapat pola pembelajaran
menggunakan unit kegiatan belajar mandiri (UKBM).
UKBM sebagai perangkat belajar bagi peserta didik untuk
mencapai kompetensi pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada pembelajaran
dengan menggunakan Sistem Kredit Semester (SKS) sekaligus sebagai
wahana peserta didik untuk menumbuhkan kecakapan hidup Abad 21
seperti berpikir kritis, bertindak kreatif, bekerjasama, dan berkomunikasi,
serta tumbuhnya budaya literasi dan Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter
(PPK). Melalui UKBM kita juga dapat mengembangkan strategi
pembelajaran mandiri yang membantu peserta didik mencapai
ketuntasan belajar. Untuk itu, UKBM sangat penting untuk
dikembangkan oleh guru mata pelajaran pada sekolah penyelenggara
SKS.
Mengingat hal tersebut di atas, Tim Pengembang Kurikulum (TPK)
SMAN 1 Sukabumi telah selesai membuat Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar
yang dikhususkan untuk kalangan sendiri di lingkungan SMAN 1
Sukabumi untuk kelas x Semester Ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2018/ 2019
dengan harapan dapat membantu terlaksananya penyelenggaraan
pembelajaran SKS di SMAN 1 Kota Sukabumi.
Kami Ucapakan banyak terima kasih kepada semua pihak yang
telah membantu dalam suksesnya pembuatan UKBM ini. Kami menyadari
banyak kekurangan dalam penyusunan UKBM ini. Oleh karena itu, saran

Using to be and to have


To be is also known as a linking verb showing existence or the
condition of the subject. It links between the subject and object. In
Indonesian it means ‘adalah’ or has no meaning at all.

On this occasion, allow me to make an introduction
about myself. My name is Riki Satria. I am the first of three
children. I was born in Bekasi 14 July 2002. Currently my
family and I live on Jalan Nangka number three Tangerang.
Speaking about hobby, I have a musical hobby. I can play
guitar since I was at 4th grade. And now I have created four
songs. Because of love of music, I have a dream to make a
band and share stage with Coldplay. Hopefully my dream can
come true.
I have two siblings who are still at elementary school.
Their names are Ninik and Nina. They are twin. As a first
child, I have to guide my siblings to grow well. My father

Simple Present Tense expresses daily habits or usual
activities. The simple present tense also expresses general
truth or fact. In sum, the simple present tense is used for
events or situations that always, usually, or habitually in the
present.

Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world. It


was built by a Muslim Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife
at Agra.
Taj Mahal is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz
Mahal. The mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comprising of a main
gateway, an elaborate garden, a mosque (to the left), a guest house (to the
right), and several other palatial buildings. The Taj is at the farthest end of
this complex, with the river Jamuna behind it.
The Taj stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its
four corners truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural
design uses the interlocking arabesque concept, in which each element
stands on its own and perfectly integrates with the main structure. It uses
the principles of self-replicating geometry and a symmetry of architectural
elements.
Its central dome is fifty-eight feet in diameter and rises to a height
of 213 feet. It is flanked by four subsidiary domed chambers. The four
graceful, slender minarets are 162.5 feet each. The central domed chamber
and four adjoining chambers include many walls and panels of Islamic
decoration.

Lawang Sewu is an old building in Semarang, Central Java,


which is the office of the Nederlands-Indische Maatschappij or NIS
Spoorweg. It was built in 1904 and completed in 1907. The
monument is located on the roundabout that used to be called
Wilhelminaplein Young.
Local people call it Lawang Sewu (Thousand Doors)
because the building has many doors. In fact, the doors are not
up to a thousand. The building has many windows high and wide,
so people often think of it as the door (mace).
Ancient buildings and magnificent two-storey is used as an
office after independence named Djawatan Repoeblik Indonesia
Railways (DKARI) or PT KAI now. In addition once used as the
Office of National Infrastructures Regional Military Command
(Kodam IV / Diponegoro) and Regional Office Ministry of
Transportation Central Java. At the time of the struggle this
building has its own history that is when the battle took place five
days of events in Hyderabad (14 October to 19 October 1945).
This old building became the location of a great battle between
youth AMKA or the Young Railway against Kempetai and
Kidobutai, Japan. Thus, the Semarang City Government by
Decree No. mayor. 650/50/1992, Lawang Sewu included as one of
102 ancient or historic buildings in the city of Semarang that
should be protected.
Currently the old building has undergone a phase of conservation
and revitalization undertaken by the Conservation Unit PT objects
and historic buildings Railway Corporation.

Work in pairs. Read the text carefully. Then circle the

The great pyramid of Giza is the name given to the oldest and
largest of all pyramids located in Giza, the third-largest city in Egypt.
This pyramid also known as the Pyramid of Khufu as it was built for the
fourth dynasty Pharaoh of Egypt, Khufu. This historical building of
Egypt is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and remains in
the list until now.

With its base size (230.4 meters) and its height (146.5 meters)
this pyramidal construction considered to be the tallest building in the
world for more than 3.800 years. It was estimated by the scientist that it
took 20 years to build the pyramid. The whole building was formed by
using 2.300.000 stone blocks which arranged into 210 layers from the
bottom to the top. Each stone block has average size of 1 to 1.5m with
the weight of 6.5 to 10 tons for each large stone.

Egyptologists believe that the function of the pyramid is to be


used as a tomb for the Pharaoh. There are two entrances that we can
use to enter the pyramid. Both of them is located on the east side of the
pyramid. Once we entered the building, we will find three chambers
inside the great pyramid. The lowest chamber is called the subterranean

chamber, the highest chamber is the King’s chamber, and the one in the
middle is the Queen’s chamber. You will also find a passage called the
grand gallery connecting the Queen’s chamber and the King’s chamber.

Ampera Bridge is a vertical-lift bridge in the city of Palembang, South Sumatera,


Indonesia. It is not only a landmark of the city but also reflects the nation’s

Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world. It was
built by a Muslim Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife at Agra.
Taj Mahal is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal.
The mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comprising of a main gateway, an
elaborate garden, a mosque (to the left), a guest house (to the right), and several
other palatial buildings. The Taj is at the farthest end of this complex, with the
river Jamuna behind it.
The Taj stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four
corners truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural design uses the
interlocking arabesque concept, in which each element stands on its own and
perfectly integrates with the main structure. It uses the principles of self-
replicating geometry and symmetry of architectural elements
Its central dome is fifty-eight feet in diameter and rises to a height of 213
