D. Tujuan Pembelajaran

Setelah proses pembelajaran siswa dapat:

1. Memahami struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan untuk melaksanakan


fungsi sosial teks ilmiah faktual (factual report ) dengan menyatakan dan
menanyakan tentang teks ilmiah faktual tentang orang, binatang, benda,
gejala dan peristiwa alam dan sosial, sederhana, sesuai dengan konteks
pembelajaran di pelajaran lain di Kelas XI
2. Mengidentifikasi struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan untuk
melaksanakan fungsi sosial teks ilmiah faktual (factual report ) dengan
menyatakan dan menanyakan tentang teks ilmiah faktual tentang orang,
binatang, benda, gejala dan peristiwa alam dan sosial, sederhana, sesuai
dengan konteks pembelajaran di pelajaran lain di Kelas XI

 Pengertian Factual Report


Factual report adalah sebuah teks yang mendeskripsikan sesuatu berdasarkan fakta atau terdiri
dari facta fakta,bukan sebuah teks yang terdiri dari teori teori atau pendapat pribadi.

 Social Function of Factual report.


Fungsi dari Factual Report adalah untuk mempresentasikan tentang sesuatu,Factual report
biasanya mendeskripsikan sesuatu secara menyeluruh, yang dideskripsikan bisa berupa alam
atau buatan manusia

 Generic Structure of Factual Report.


1. General Classification  Sebuah statemen yang mendeskripsikan secara umum atau
deskripsi umum dari sesuatu yanga akan ditulis.

2. Description  Menceritakan tentang fenomena apa yang akan didiskusikan secara lebih
khusus , contohnya bagian bagiannya, kelakuan atau habitatnya, atau secara khusus
mendeskripsikan benda atau fenomena tersebut.
*Report Text merupakan laporan berupa teks yang
menyajikan informasi mengenai sesuatu, apa adanya dari
hasil penelitian atau analisis yang sistematis.
*Report text adalah salah satu jenis dari 13 jenis tulisan
yang ada dalam ilmu bahasa Inggris.
*Report Text juga termasuk ke dalam descriptive text
yang berfungsi untuk menjelaskan sesuatu baik itu
makhluk hidup, benda, hingga fenomena umum.
*Sementara untuk descriptive text lebih
menerangkan fenomena dengan lebih khusus.
*Sebagai contoh, kalian akan membahas mengenai
sepeda. Maka pada descriptive text, kalian akan merujuk
ke jenis sepeda tertentu seperti sepeda gunung lengkap
dengan penjelasan ciri khususnya.
*Berisikan beragam fakta – fakta ilmiah.
*Judul teks nampak lebih umum atau tidak mendetail.
*Memakai Simple Present Tense.

*Memakai kata benda umum. Contoh: Anjing pemburu, bukan


menggunakan kata benda tertentu seperti anjing kita. (Hunting dogs ><
My dog)
*Memakai kata kerja terkait untuk menjelaskan objek. Seperti to be [is,
am, are: present], seem, look, taste serta yang lainnya.
*Beberapa pemakaian kata kerja tindakan ketika menggambarkan
perilaku. Contohnya: Tikus tidak dapat terbang/ rat cannot fly;
*Pemakaian timeless present tense untuk mengindikasikan kondisi biasa
“often, usually, always”.
*Pemakaian istilah teknis/ istilah – istilah yang meliputi teks report itu
sendiri. Contohnya mengenai “music” maka, istilah – istilah musik di
dalam teks tersebut harus ada.
*Pemakaian paragraf dengan kalimat topik untuk mengatur kumpulan
informasi; penamaan topik yang diulang sebagai fokus awal klausa.

phenomena in our life. It is used as a way to gain better understanding of different phenomena.
( Suatu teks berdasarkan fakta yang menyedikan informasi tentang berbagai fenomena pada
kehidupan kita. Penulisan ini digunakan sebagai cara untuk mendapatkan pengertian yang lebih baik
atas fenomena yang berbeda )

Topics, or subjects, found in information reports can be about one specific thing or a group of
things. Some examples of topics might include:

Giraffe is the highest animal in the world. Its height can reach 4.8 to 5.5
meters and its weight about 1360 pounds. Giraffe has a unique characteristic. They have a
very long neck and two small horns on its head. Giraffes have big brown eyes and
protected by thick and long eyebrows. Her body is covered with a unique pattern that is
attached by brown spots all over their body.
Just like camels, giraffes can survive without drinking for long time because
giraffes can rely on the water contained in leaves they eat. Giraffes are very selective in
choosing food. They always eat young leaves that grow in the tree tops. Their tongue
shaped like a knife help them to cut branches which are very hard.
Female giraffes can start pregnant at the age of five years, with a gestation
period of 15 months. Commonly female giraffe bear one baby, but sometimes two babies
at once. Giraffes bear its baby with a standing position. When the baby is about to be
born, they just drop it to the ground from a 1.5 meter of height. Baby giraffe can stand
with about 20 minutes since being born, and begin breastfeeding within an hour of birth.

Jasmine is a native flower to some tropical areas in South Asia, Africa and Australia. In
India, some varieties of Jasmine are used for religious purposes.
The flower can grow up to 3 meters high and 2 meters wide. It releases its fragrance mostly
after the sun sets especially nearing the full moon. Therefore, it is often associated with
soothing night- time moods.
The planting of Jasmine is started by putting some cuttings in 3 inch posts within 4 weeks.
After the roots grow, they are put into 6 inch pots. The soil in the pots should be kept moist
but possible for the water to go through it for optimum growth.
There are some important advantages of Jasmine. In medication, this flower is often used for
soothing headaches, stimulating brain, and restoring balance. Its extract is also widely used in
the making of perfume.

Ojek “motorcycle taxi” began appearing in Jakarta after becak was banned in 1994. Ojek
service began as a people’s initiative to provide an alternative transportation for people who
used becak from main roads into housing complexes. There is no government license or
control for ojek. By the law, all motorcycle passengers should wear helmet so ojek drivers
should have a spare for their passengers to wear. Ojek tends to congregate at t-junctions on
main roads and near smaller roads that are not serviced by bus routes. Ladies should have a
careful position in taking ojek. Also, if the women wear a dress, they have to sit side wise on
the back of the vehicle. You have to bargain before you get on and ask a local people about
the usual price.

In order to be fit and healthy, people need to take part in sports. Doing sports can make

morning to make their bodies fresh. It is not only a simple sport to do but also cheap. The young ones
enjoy games like football, badminton, tennis, etc. They often participate in different kinds of sports.
There are a lot of people who only enjoy watching sports competitions or matches on
TV. They are even willing to spend much money to watch a football, boxing or tennis match. We call
them spectators.
Football and badminton are the most popular sports in our country. Almost everyone
