ANALYSIS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION SYSTEM MANAGEMENT IN INCREASING
INTEREST LIBRARY READ THE COMMUNITY,
(A STUDY IN THE OFFICE LIBRARY,
ARCHIVAL, AND DOCUMENTATION
REGENCY NORTH NIAS)
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine how the implementation of management information system in
the library management to increase public interest in libraries, archives, and documentation of
regency North Nias, as well as the management of library collections, and management services in
the library users to utilize the facilities and amenities available in the library.
Forms of research is qualitative descriptive. Source of data used consists of information,
location, event or activity, documents and archives. Sampling technique used is purposive
sampling. Data collection techniques used were interviews, the method of collecting data by
conducting a question and answer directly to the respondent, and the observation that the method
of data collection direct observation on the object of research.
In this study, data analysis technique is to collect the data extracted from the research.
Data reduction in this process the data is classified, directed, and dispose of unnecessary data.
Presentation of data which is an assembly of information organization, the description in
narrative form that allows conclusions of the study can be done. Decision-making and verification
of data in order to fairly steady and truly accountable.
The results show that the data processing management information system implementation
in the library to increase public interest in libraries, archives, and documentation of Regency
North Nias are as follows:
1. The library provides a collection of books about science, magazines, newspapers, and other
information that are build into a more positive direction.
2. Providing services to the public library patrons, so it feels comfortable to read.
3. Libraries, archives, and documentation of Regency North Nias seeks to increase public interest
to make the event "Reading Week" held 1 (one) time in every month.
4. Libraries, archives, and documentation of Regency North Nias have a means of transport to
deliver books and reading that are mild to members distant residence, known as a mobile
library.
5. Libraries, archives, and documentation of Regency North Nias adopts the system of lending to
members open access is a way to borrow that allows users to sign in the collection room.
