The Aceh Tsunami Museum is located on Jalan Iskandar Muda Street, Banda Aceh, and is
open daily (except Friday) from 10.00-12.00 noon, and 15.00-17.00 West Indonesia Time. The
Museum building has adopted the traditional raised Aceh House, while at the same time it
Stepping inside, one will find a narrow corridor with water flowing from either side accompanied
by a scary rumbling sounds,reminding of the devastations made by the 2004 tsunami. The
Museum also features an electronic simulation of the Indian Ocean earthquake, pictures of the
casualties, and stories and testimonies of survivors. Building the museum had cost about IDR70
billion, and consists of 2 floors. The first floor is an open space area which serves as wave as big.

souvenirs shop. Some of the simulation showcased here are an earthquake resistant building and a
model of the earth’s crust. There is also a room displaying tsunami disaster paintings and
diorama.

Weh Island is located in the Andaman Sea, where two groups of islands, the Nicobar
Islands and Andaman Islands, are scattered in one line from Sumatra to the north up to
the Burma plate. The Andaman Sea lies on an active moving small tectonic plate
(microplate). A complex geological fault system and volcanic arc islands have been
created along the length of the sea by the movement of the microplate.
The island lies about 15 kilometres (9 mi) off the northernmost tip of Sumatra. The
island is small at only 156.3 km2 (60.3 sq mi), but mountainous. The highest peak is a
fumarolic volcano, 617 metres (2,024 ft) high. The last known eruption is estimated to
have occurred in the Pleistocene age, as a result which the mountain partially collapsed
At a depth of 9 metres (30 ft), close to Sabang city, underwater fumaroles emerge from
the seabed. At Gapang Beach (Gapang is name of a kind of a tree), one hour from
Balohan Port to the west, there are also underwater fumaroles which are suitable for
diving and are called Hydrothermal Point. The water like a diamond. a volcanic cone is
found in the jungle. There are three solfatara (mudpot) fields on the island: one is 750
metres (0.5 mi) southeast of the summit and the others are 5 kilometres (3 mi) and 11.5
kilometres (7 mi) northwest of the summit, on the western shore of Lhok Perialakot bay.
There are four islets surrounding Weh Island: Klah, Rubiah, Seulako, and Rondo.
Among those, Rubiah is well known for diving tourism, because of its coral reefs.

Komodo island is located between Sumbawa and Flores, along western Nusa Tenggara Timur, and
is popular for the presence of giant Monitor Lizards known as Komodo Dragons. The island is arid,
rugged and barren and forms a part of the Komodo National Park and Marine Reserve. Aerial views
prove that it is in arguably, among the most beautiful places in Indonesia.The best time to visit the
park is during the dry season, which runs from April to December Besides spotting endangered
Komodo dragons, a range of activities can be enjoyed at the Komodo National Park such as go for
kayaking, diving, trekking or the guided island tours.Around Komodo Island can be relatively easy,
but to get to Komodo, you first need to travel to Bali and then to Labuan Bajo by either plane or
boat, and finally to Komodo Island by boat. A couple of local air lines fly from Bali to Labuan Bajo
on Flores Island
