Merupakan inti dari akulturasi adalah
aktivitas komunikasi antarbudaya dan
pembelajaran budaya baru.
Dekulturasi
Pelepasan pembelajaran, setidaknya
beberapa elemen budaya lama harus
terjadi. Dalam arti bahwa tanggapan baru
diadopsi dalam situasi yang sebelumnya
akan membangkitkan yang lama.

Stress Adaptation
Ekspresi untuk Individu mulai berpikiran
mempertahankan kebiasaan terbuka, melalui kontak
lama saat bertemu dengan langsung dan tidak langsung
kebudayaan baru. dengan lingkungan yang tidak
dikenal, berusaha untuk
membangun dan memelihara
hubungan yang relatif stabil,
timbal balik, dan fungsional
dengan lingkungan.
Growth Dynamics
Pertumbuhan dalam sistem
internal idividu, seiring dengan
berkembangnya stress dan
adaptasi. Semakin tumbuh dan
berkembang, maka semakin bisa
beradaptasi, dan tingkat stress
makin kecil.

Individuation
Melibatkan definisi diri yang jelas dan
definisi orang lain sebagai individu
tunggal daripada anggota kategori sosial
konvensional. Dengan kapasitas ini,
seseorang lebih mampu melihat diri
sendiri dan orang lain berdasarkan
kualitas individu yang unik daripada
stereotip kategoris.
Universal-
ization
Universalisasi lahir dari kesadaran akan
sifat nilai yang relatif dan aspek universal
dari sifat manusia. Ketika orang maju
dalam proses transformasi identitas,
mereka lebih mampu melihat
kemanusiaan yang sama di antara budaya
dan etnis yang berbeda, dan menemukan
titik persetujuan dan saling melengkapi di
luar titik perbedaan dan perselisihan.
