Jati ( Tectona grandis ) Kayu jati
merupakan kayu yang selalu menjadi
primadona di pasaran terutama dalam
daftar buruan industri-industri
perkayuan.
 JATI MULBI
Jati Kultur Jaringan tumbuh sangat
baik di iklim tropis Indonesia, terutama
di daerah-daerah yang tanahnya
banyak mengandung kapur. Selain itu
tanaman ini juga tumbuh di daerah
yang memiliki musim kering yang nyata
(3 – 5 bulan), curah hujan 1.500 –
2.000 mm/tahun dan temperatur 27 –
36C.
Jati Kultur Jaringan dapat tumbuh baik
pada dataran rendah sampai dataran
tinggi sampai ketinggian 800 m dpl.
Tanah yang baik yaitu tanah aluvial
dengan pH 4.5 – 7 dan yang terpenting
tidak tergenang air.

Tanaman jati memiliki pertumbuhan relatif lama namun mempunyai nilai komersil (ekonomi) yang
cukup tinggi. Jati adalah salah satu jenis tanaman jati yang memiliki pertumbuhan lebih cepat
dibanding tanaman jati lainnya. Jati juga tahan terhadap beberapa serangan dari hama maupun
penyakit..

Cara Penanaman dan Pemeliharaan Tanaman
Jarak tanam untuk sistem monokultur adalah 4 m x 4 m,
sehingga populasi per hektar adalah 700 tanaman.
Pada 2 minggu sebelum tanam lubang diberi 2 kg pupuk kandang dan 100 gr
dolomit.
Penanaman dilakukan dengan meletakkan bibit ditengah-tengah lubang
tanam, kemudian ditimbun sampai dengan leher batang berada pada per-
mukaan tanah.
Pemupukan dilakukan pada saat penanaman, 3 bulan dan 6 bulan setelah
penanaman, selanjutnya setiap enam bulan sekali hingga tahun ke-2.
Pemupukan dilakukan dengan memberikan 100 – 200 gram NPK per pohon.
Kebersihan dari gulma seluas canopy harus dijaga dengan melakukan pen-
dangiran 3 bulan
6 bulan setelah penanaman pada saat akan melakukan pemupukan.
Pruning, pemangkasan tunas samping dilakukan sampai ketinggian 6 m dari
permukaan tanah.
