1 DESKRIPSI RISET
Penelitian di bidang green diesel ini terus dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan beragam lemak
nabati dan hewani untuk mendapatkan bahan bakar hayati dan dapat diperbaharui (renewable). Pr
oses pembuatan green diesel menggunakan metode catalytic hydrocracking, percobaan dilakukan
dengan mensintesis katalis dan mengujinya untuk menghasilkan green diesel dari minyak buah m
aja dan biji kapuk randu.
Riset ini terdiri 3 tahap; (1) Persiapan Bahan baku minyak dan pembuatan Katalis non-logam m
enggunakan proses sonokimia, (2) Karakterisasi Katalis dan bahan minyak nabati, (3) Proses cata
lytic hydrocracking minyak nabati. Adapun analisa untuk karateristik katalis yaitu, XRD, BET, A
AS, dan TEM. Sedangkan untuk analisa produk green diesel dengan GC-MS. Riset ini diharapkan
dapat memberikan energi alternatif produk bahan bakar yang identik dengan bahan bakar fosil, se
hingga dapat menambah diversifikasi sintesis sumber energi baru dan terbarukan.

Green diesel sendiri merupakan bahan bakar generasi kedua dari biofuel yang menggunakan
minyak nabati.
 Bersumber dari bahan terbarukan (renewable energy)

 Mengurangi ketergantungan pada bahan bakar minyak
 Ramah Lingkungan
 Dapat memproduksi energi tanpa meningkatkan kadar CO2 dalam udara
 Menghasilkan jenis bahan bakar biogasoline (C5-C9), biokerosene (C10-C14) dan
biogasoil (C15-C18).
