• Pengertian Procedure Text
What is procedure text? Procedure text is a text
that explains, informs, or helps the reader on how
to make or use something.
Procedure text adalah teks yang memberikan
instruksi, menginformasikan, atau membantu
pembaca tentang bagaimana cara untuk
membuat atau melakukan sesuatu. Biasanya, jenis
teks ini diawali dengan frasa “How to…

sequence of steps. procedure text digunakan
untuk menguraikan satu per satu bagaimana
sesuatu dapat dibuat atau dicapai
Struktur Procedure Text
Structure of procedure text terdiri dari tiga bagian:
Goal
Goal merupakan struktur teks prosedur yang menjelaskan maksud atau tuajuan.
Materials
Materials merupakan struktur teks prosedur yang menjelaskan alat dan bahan
yang dibutuhkan.
Steps
Struktur teks prosedur berikutnya adalah steps, yang berisi langkah-langkah atau
instruksi dalam membuat atau melakukan sesuatu.
Kaidah Kebahasaan Procedure Text
1. Menggunakan Simple Present Tense
Procedure text harus ditulis dengan menggunakan Simple Present
Tense, hal ini dikarenakan dalam procedure text terdapat kalimat-
kalimat perintah mengenai cara membuat atau melakukan
sesuatu.
2. Menggunakan Kalimat Perintah (Imperative Sentences)
Apakah yang dimaksud kalimat perintah atau imperative sentences
pada procedure text? Imperative sentence selalu diawali oleh verb
1 dari action verb atau kata kerja yang melibatkan aktivitas fisik.
Jadi, kita tidak perlu memakai subject di awal kalimatnya.
. Menggunakan Kata Penghubung (Connectives)

Kata penghubung (connectives) digunakan dalam sebuah procedure text untuk
menghubungkan langkah-langkah di dalamnya supaya daftar instruksi yang dibuat
menjadi runtut dan mudah dipahami.
Contoh: Firstly, secondly, then, after that, dan finally.
4. MenggunakanKata Keterangan (Adverb)
Kata keterangan (adverb) digunakan untuk memberikan keterangan waktu. Ada 2 jenis
kata keterangan atau adverbs yang digunakan dalam procedure text, yaitu:
Adverb of time atau kata keterangan waktu yang menandakan berapa lama kita harus
melakukan sesuatu. Contoh: in 10 minutes, for 1 hour.
Adverb of manner atau keterangan cara bagaimana melakukan sesuatu. Contoh: slowly,
well, evenly.
Jenis-Jenis Procedure Text
1. Procedure text yang menjelaskan cara
mengoperasikan/menggunakan sesuatu
Contohnya seperti how to use an air fryer, how to use a dish washer,
how to use a camera.
2. Procedure text yang memberikan instruksi dalam melakukan
kegiatan tertentu
Contohnya seperti how to play the violin, how to create a website, dan
how to make rendang.
How to Make a Vegetable Salad with Peanut
Sauce
Ingredients:
• 2 potatoes - cut into quarters & boiled
• 2 eggs - boiled and cut into quarters
• Bean sprouts - blanched
• Long beans - cut into 2 inch long, blanched
• Firm tofu - pan fried/baked & cut into cubes
• Tempe - cut into slices & pan fried/baked
• Spinach - blanched & roughly chopped
• Cabbage - blanched and thinly sliced
• Cucumber - cut into cubes
• Chayote - boiled
Ingredients for Sauce:
• 100 gram fried peanut
• 1 clove garlic
• 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
• 2 red chili peppers
• 1 teaspoon brown sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon tamarind pulp
• 1/2 teaspoon of lime juice
• Salt to taste
• 1 cup hot water, depending on desired thickness
• Utensils that we need:
• Pot
• Colander
• Mortar and Pestle
• Serving dish , Slotted spoon
Steps:
1. Place fried peanut, garlic, brown sugar, chilies, and shrimp paste in a mortar. Grind with
pestle until everything is well mixed. Remove into a mixing bowl.
2. Add tamarind juice, lime juice, and half cup of water. Stir well and add more water to get
the consistency of peanut sauce to your liking.
3. Boil separately the cabbage, long beans, spinach and bean sprouts, potato and egg, then
put aside.
4. Blanch the rest of the vegetable and egg in boiling water and remove using a slotted spoon.
5. Place a portion of each salad ingredient into a serving plate/bowl. Serve the peanut sauce
and mix well. It can be served both warm or cool.

STEPS
• Turn the oven to 180C and line a 30 x 20 cm tin with
baking paper (or grease it).
• In a medium sized saucepan, put the butter and cocoa.
• Melt it gently and make sure you don’t boil it.
• Add the sugar and the vanilla, and stir it in well.
• Take the mixture off the heat and sift in the flour. Stir it in
well.
• Add the eggs, beating them in really well.
• If using them, add the chopped walnuts and stir them in.
• Spread the mixture in the tin. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes.

STEPS
• The Frame
• Dampen the cane to make flexible
• Carefully, bend the cane to desired shape then tie securely with thread

• Lay the frame on sheet of paper
• Trace around frame with pencil
• Cut covering approximately 1 cm larger than the outline
• Paint bird on covering (e.g. bowl)
• When paint is dry, place the frame on unpainted side.
• Now, fold edges of covering over the frame carefully, and glue them down.

• Cut 3 pieces of string, each 20 cm long.
• Secure one end of each string tightly to frame at the shoulders and tail of the bird.
• Then, tie the other ends in a knot.
SOAL PROCEDURE TEXT
Ingredients:
• 1 cup of white rice
• ¼ chicken or use any amount you want
• 8 cups of water
• 150 gr ginger
• 2 pieces green onion
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
• 2 tablespoons water
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 2 tablespoon chicken stock
STEPS
• Fill the bowl with water to wash the rice. Massage and mix the rice with your hands. Drain
the water. Repeat this step 2 or 3 times.
• Boil 8 cups of water. chop the ginger into thin slices and chop the green onion into small
pieces.
• After that, cut the chicken into thin slices. Place into a bowl to marinate. Add oyster sauce,
cornstarch, chicken stock and two tablespoons of water. Add two tablespoons of vegetable
oil and mix it for 30 seconds.
• Add the rice into the boiled water from earlier. Stir the rice around a bit. Cover the pot and
wait until it’s boiling again.
• Let it cook at medium heat for 30 minutes.
• While waiting for rice to cook, set the stove to high heat. Add the chicken slowly. Stir
constantly around 1-2 minutes.
• Add the ginger and one tablespoon of salt, and chicken stock. Stir it for around 30 seconds.
• Last but not least, turn off the heat and pour the jook into the bowl. You can garnish it with
green onions, peanuts or whatever you like.
