Ilmu lingkungan (environmental science atau envirology) adalah ilmu yang
bertujuan untuk mempelajari dan memecahkan masalah yang menyangkut
hubungan antara mahluk hidup dengan lingkungannya.

Pendidikan lingkungan hidup adalah upaya untuk mengubah perilaku dan

sikap masyarakat, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan,
keterampilan dan kesadaran masyarakat akan nilai lingkungan dan masalah
lingkungan yang dapat menggerakan masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi aktif
dalam pelestarian lingkungan.

Aspek penting yang diterapkan dalam pembelajaran PLH adalah

kognitif dan afektif. Aspek kognitif meliputi proses pemahaman, dan
menjaga keseimbangan aspek-aspek yang lain. Materi PLH harus
diberikan sebagai materi yang harus diketahui dan dipahami oleh
mahasiswa, selanjutnya dikembangkan sendiri oleh mahasiswa. Aspek
afektif yang dapat diterapkan dalam PLH meliputi tingkah laku, nilai
dan komitmen yang diperlukan untuk membangun masyarakat yang
berkelanjutan (sustainable).

pembentukan sikap, kepribadian, perilaku, dan partisipasi nyata dari
setiap manusia di dalam usaha serta upaya pelindungan/
penyelamatan lingkungan hidup.
Perencanaan Pembelajaran Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup

PLH disajikan dalam bentuk terintegrasi.

PLH termuat dalam mata pelajaran lain seperti Pendidikan

Pancasila dan kewarganeraan, dan Pendidikan Agama.

Konten PLH disesuaikan dengan tingkatan/jenjang
