mendapat 17A1 sekali gus menjadikan beliau pelajar cemerlang SPM
keluarga bahagia pemangkin kecemerlangan anak-anak.
CONTOH KARANGAN
My Favourite Teacher
Watching Mr Lim get into his car is educational; and watching him
get out of it is even more so. Mr Lim, the teacher of Secondary 1, weighs
more than a 100 kg and his car is an old mini.
At first sight one would think that it would be impossible for him to
get in; but he does so with amazing agility and grace. No sooner does
he get out of the car when we see a flock of school children running to
greet him as if he were a film star. He will then make his entry into his
classroom like a VIP on a visit.
Mr Lim is the oldest teacher in the school and has been teaching
there since its founding in 1955. He has been teaching Secondary 1 for
all these years and has taught thousands of students. Among the
students he has taught are several top civil servants, two army generals,
two cabinet ministers and our school principal. In spite of all his
achievements, what makes Mr Lim my favourite teacher, and the
favourite teacher to many others too, is the fact that he really cares. He
cares about all of us equally. He does more than just teach us.
Every year, after one month of fasting, Muslims celebrate Hari Raya
Puasa which falls in the month of Syawal. All Muslims celebrate the day with
great joy. In the morning, they go to the mosque to pray. Then, on returning
home, they receive guests and relatives who come to pay them a call.
Days before, the women folk make many varieties of cakes, cookies and
sweet meats. They also cook 'rendang' curries and prepare 'satay' to go with the
'ketupat'. Homes are decorated with many coloured lights all over the garden.
Small lamps are lit and placed along the driveway.
The town is usually crowded with Muslims dressed gaily and going
about. They visit their friends and relatives while some go to the cinemas or to
the Lake Gardens. Many, however, go back to their 'kampungs' to celebrate the
festival with their parents. It is also a time for family reunions. Everyone
rejoices during this festive season.
You recently went an expedition with your classmates to Langkawi. You have
been asked to write a letterto your cousin about your visit to Langkawi Island.

Dear Zarina,
How's life? I hope you are in the best of health. How's my beloved Uncle
Johari? I miss him too.The reason I write this letter is to tell you about my
expedition to Langkawi. Guess what? We just came back from Langkawi . I
went there with 25 of my classmates and my class teacher. Mr, Zaid had kindlly
accompanied us for the 3 day-trip. You should have joined us. It was such an
awesome experience!
Well, on the first day, we arrived at Langkawi in morning after a short
flight. Then, we were taken to Langkawi Geopark, a UNESCO World Heriatage
Site where we could see magnificent rock formations. We were taught the
history of the place and some fossils of fish could also be sighted. This is a
wonderful opportunity to understand geogical aspect of the island at the
Geopark.
After visiting Geopark, we were taken to Pulau Dayang Bunting which
about an hour boat ride. I forgot to mention that the boat ride itself was so
exciting and adventurous. Upon arrival at the island, we were greeted by
monkeys and soon, we saw a breathtakinng lake, with its gree clear water. Not
forgetting the fish spa where thousands of catfish nibble at your feet when you
lower feet into the water. Again, this is a new experience for me. Other than
that, we could really enjoy the beautiful scenery of the island.
The next day, we went to Underwater World where we saw the penguin,
giant fishes, colourful onemones and all sorts of marine life there.I'm sure, it's
heaven for fish lovers. One advantage of this trip is I could learn about
themarine life. Well, on the final day, we went to Mahsuri Tomb and Padang
Mat Sirat to relive the legend of Mahsuri. It was a good experience since I
managed to see the historic sites and understand Mahsuri legend better. Other
than that, I also learn about the importance of being true to our words and do
not spread false gossips since these can lead to horrible consequences. I also
managed to make friends with some other tourists visiting the site.
Okay, I guess I have to have to pen off now. Hope to see you in the next
letter. Please convey my love and regards to my uncle and aunti. Take care!
Love,
Rosni
A Camping Experience
I couldn’t sleep the night before. I was just too excited. This was my first
time on a camping trip. I had packed my backpack 3 days ago. There was a list
of things that were required from everyone such as sleeping bags, torchlight,
matches, Mars Energy Bars and not forgetting mosquito repellants.
Around 8am the following day, we arrived in our school bus at the
foothills of Gunung Ledang which is famous for its many myths and also
beautiful camping spots. There were 20 of us. We were all in our school scouts
team accompanied by two teachers and our guide, an Orang Asli man called
Adun. First we went to register ourselves at the rangers office before starting
our hike.
It was a wonderful, cool morning. Adun pointed out to us various types of
edible wild plants and told us to 'respect the jungle' by not littering or thinking
bad thoughts. 2 hours later we reached a waterfall. It was a perfect spot to set up
our tents. By the time we finished setting up the tents, it was lunch time. Adun
showed us how to gather firewood and lit up a fire. He made a makeshift stand
over the fire and hung a pot of icy water from the waterfall to boil. While
waiting to cook rice, our teachers said we could all go for a quick swim in the
waterfall. We had so much fun together! After a simple of rice and sardines, we
rested for a while. In the evening, our teachers took us exploring around the area
and gather more firewood before nightfall.
At night, after dinner, we lit a big fire and sat around it. Our teachers
talked about jungle survival tips and later we played games. Then Adun told us
a few mystical stories about Gunung Ledang. Some were scary and a few of us
kept looking behind our backs at the dark jungle. By 10pm our teachers asked
us to go to sleep. Some of us couldn’t sleep so ended up chatting quietly in our
tents till wee hours of the morning. We went home the next morning, tired but
happy.
