Students must realize the importance of the relationship between the individual and
society. Humans belong to society, and students are an important part of it. Students
cannot live completely isolated from social life. Even a student who is in school must
have relationships with other people who together make up society. They can play an
important role in improving and strengthening society. The simple fact is that we stand,
and divided we fall. Society is a manifestation of a unified existence, and students are
part of society. Therefore, men and women of all ages and professions should do their
best to serve society. Learning is the main job of students. However, being youthful and
energetic, they can engage in various forms of social work in their spare time, and in
times of crisis.

They should be enthusiastic about opening blood donation camps, setting up gyms,
blind schools, health centers, libraries, etc. Such companies benefit many, and help keep
society in good shape.

As a community point of view that has added value, students are able to play
themselves professionally and proportionally in society or in the world of
education. The role of students is not just learning activities in the lecture hall, in
the library and internet access that has to do with the disciplines they are pursuing
but more than that. Students who are not high school graduates who accidentally
are accidentally stranded on campus. Students have their own place in society, but
that does not mean separating themselves from society. Therefore, it is necessary to
formulate the role, function, and position of students to determine the direction of
the student's struggle and contribution.

There are many activities that students can do to realize the role of agent of change,
especially activities related to environmental issues. Students are not just agents of
change but students should become agents of empowerment after change who play
a role in the physical and non-physical development of a nation which is then
supported by the next student functions, namely social control, cultural control,
community control, and individual control so as to close the gaps. tyranny. Students
are not observers in this role, but students are also required to be actors in society,
because it cannot be denied that students are part of society. Ideally, students
become role models in society, based on their knowledge, level of education, norms
that apply around them, and patterns of thinking.

Gap
First,Kriswanto, et al (2021) shows that actions that students can take in the
community are educating and mobilizing the community to participate in the prevention
of Covid-19. ways to keep the environment clean and include managing the impact and
preventing the spread of disease vectors in the environment, it can be executed while
keeping the environment simple.

Second,Ananta, et al (2021) results show that we as students are aware of the

importance of unity and integrity in the campus environment and society. With this, it is
hoped that it can foster a spirit of unity and unity in students to face all possible threats
that may arise. happening on campus.

Third,Yasir (2022) shows that education is one of the keys to the success of
individuals, groups or a nation to realize the welfare and prosperity of its people.
Society in facing social change certainly requires preparation.

Fourth,Aufa, et al (2022) As a young generation who is insightful and has added

value, students can play a role in society and educational units, all the thoughts that
students have can change the paradigm that develops in a group and can lead to goals to
be achieved for the common good.

Fifth,Sati, et al (2021) In the life of the Indonesian nation, it is hoped that these
principles can be applied to students in the family, school, environment and national
life, so that they can become democratic citizens, responsible citizens, respect diversity
and persist in diversity. Citizens based on multiculturalism foster a diversity paradigm

while respecting differences, individual differences (body, gender, age, skin color, and
height), as well as cultural, social, religious, linguistic, ethnic and group differences.
Citizens based on multiculturalism play a very important role in advancing the diversity
of the Indonesian people, so that diversity will not be a source of conflict, but as a basis
for tolerance and mutual respect to build the diversity of the Indonesian nation.

Sixth,Bestari Laia (2022) This activity is very important for students and the
environment they live in because they are required to adapt to the environment,
atmosphere, place of residence and language used daily. For this reason, students are
able to have experience and knowledge about social relations and can apply the
knowledge they have in the midst of the local community. And the practitioner must
also follow the rules that apply in the area he occupies, participate in village activities
both outside and inside the KKN location. The implementation of KKN activities must
also be supported by the Sirofi Village community so that the village government is
able to facilitate all the needs needed by practitioners in carrying out their activities.

Seventh,Haryati (2022) Environmental health problems are closely related to

people's living behavior. Environmental and air pollution, the risk of disease and the
disruption of the beauty of the environment can occur due to improper waste disposal
behavior. Waste management in Kendari City, especially in Kambu Village, is still a
problem that is increasing every year. Education and active involvement of the
community in the application of Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) are expected to be
one solution to this problem. This community service aims to increase awareness,
willingness and ability of the community to implement PHBS in order to create a
healthy environment. This activity was carried out in Kambu Village, Kambu District,
Kendari City from August to September 2021 with the target of the activity being
community members and the local government by carrying out main strategies in the
form of advocacy, atmosphere building and community empowerment.

Eighth,Yustikasari, et al (2022) The current education model refers to a system

aimed at empowering the community, and thus is expected to improve the quality of
humans as individuals through education. How the community living in the university
environment can optimally and effectively utilize their abilities and participate in the
challenges of living in a social environment. Universities play a role in improving

Nineth,Irayanti, et al (2022) is how the role of the family in creating a young

nationalist generation in the era of the rapid development of globalization and the
busyness of parents in shaping the spirit of nationalism of the younger generation. The
research was conducted in three villages in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi,
namely Napoosi village, Lalousu village and Rumbia village using qualitative research

methods. This study reports that the involvement and role of the family, especially
parents, is very important in creating a young nationalist generation in the midst of

entry of various foreign cultures that are not in accordance with the culture and noble
values of the Indonesian nation. The presence and assistance of parents and family as
role models and guides is found to be very important to become a patron of integrity in
the life of the nation and state of the younger generation in realizing their ideals and
developing their nationalism. The young generation must be given space to explore their
abilities in society positively by directing them to be active in organizing to provide
knowledge, skills and characters that develop positive attitudes of the younger
generation in social life.

Tenth,Zaelani, et al (2022) Provide opportunities for every citizen to plant trees

by using used bottles and gallons as pots or containers, holding afternoon exercise
activities with children, distributing hand sanitizers and masks to the surrounding
community, making places hand washing through the use of used buckets as containers
or places, and various other activities. In addition, conducting parenting workshops for
local mothers to provide knowledge in parenting patterns.

Emphyrical Reason

"The Importance of the Role of Students in Environmental Change in the

Ciledug Society" because the Ciledug area really needs students to be able to participate
in cleaning and preserving the environment. Humans are social creatures who help
each other to help each other, and humans must have awareness in protecting their
environment, therefore I took the topic and went into the field to help each other to
preserve the environment.

2. Who is responsible for protecting the surrounding environment?
3. What actions are taken by residents to protect the environment?

Method
This instrument method uses qualitative methods, because this qualitative research
method is a research method to examine the observations and observations of an object.
This method is often used in social science research with the form of analysis and
conclusions that depend on the sharpness of research analysis. Data collection
techniques are carried out in a combined way by emphasizing the meaning of
generalizations.

The environment is a unit that includes the state of natural resources such as land, water,
solar energy, minerals, and flora and fauna that grow on land and in the ocean. The
environment based on UUPL No.23 of 1997 is a spatial unit with all objects, power,
circumstances, and living things including humans and their behavior that affect the
survival and welfare of humans and other living creatures.

The environment is a place where humans live, and is one of the factors that can affect
human life. The environment can change all activities of human life, ranging from
lifestyle, behavior, mindset and even one's personality. A healthy environment will have
a positive impact on residents. Meanwhile, a healthy environment according to WHO
(World Health Organization) is a condition that includes physical, mental and social
health which does not only mean a condition free from disease and disability. human
life. The environment can change all activities of human life, ranging from lifestyle,
behavior, mindset and even one's personality. A healthy environment will have a
positive impact on residents. Students are the younger generation who have the most
significant role in changing an environment. Students are considered agents of change,
where they become someone who brings change and is imitated by the community. They
must influence other people to do good things that can have an impact on other
countries, starting with living clean from waste.

This research was conducted in Ciledug District, North Paninggilan Village. The
people in the area are very friendly and willing to take part in greening the environment
in the area. Although not all participated in these activities. And in that area, people do
reforestation, this reforestation makes crafts from plastic bottles for flower pots. Not
only that, the community also does community service such as cleaning the gutters so
that they are not clogged with plastic waste and cleaning up the environment in the
area. The community is very enthusiastic in participating in this activity.
