 LATAR BELAKANG KEBIJAKAN MENGADOP ACI 318 2
• Indonesia mulai mengadop ACI 318 sebagai Code of Practice untuk pekerjaan
Beton Bertulang saat Pembaharuan Standar Beton PBI-71 di th. 1983;
• Saat itu naskah PBI-71 merupakan adopsi dari 2 sumber referensi, setengah
Code Eropa (mengenai material), dan setengah Code Amerika ACI 318 (analisis
dan disain);
• Dampaknya ada ambiguitas terkait dengan nilai keamanan aktual dari dari bangunan ge-
dung hasil disain yang menggunakan PBI-71;
• Pertimbangan mengadop ACI 318 secara penuh didasarkan pertimbangan
berikut:
• Bahasanya Bahasa Inggris,
• Selalu di-update thd code of practices yang telah disepakati (konsensus) setiap 3 tahun.
• Text books yang dasarnya ACI 318 mudah didapat dan jumlahnya banyak.

 MANFAAT MEMPELAJARI ACI 318M-14 3

1. ACI 318M-14 sengaja ditulis ulang dalam format yang lebih friendly untuk
mempermudah penggunaan ketentuan/provisi nya dalam pekerjaan disain dari
struktur beton bertulang;
2. Bahasan yang disampaikan dalam short course ini diambil dari:
a) Presentasi Drs. Poston & Tolan, international ambassador aci, yang disampaikan di short
course HAKI th. 2018;
b) Contoh dan bahasan dari ACI SP-17M(14);
c) Paparan konseptual tambahan yang didasarkan pada catatan pribadi terkait pola pikir dan
cara kerja perencana di Indonesia, dan
3. Provisi berisi ketentuan Teknis dalam susunan Bahasa Legal, dengan penje-

• The construction documents and inspection chapter clears up
something that has been an issue between engineers and
contractors for a while. 318 has always been written to the
engineer and not the contractor. However, specifications will
often require the contractor to meet requirements in 318. This
is difficult for contractors to do because they don’t have the
background on the design decisions that is required to properly
interpret and implement the provisions. 318 has always
required the engineer to communicate field requirements to the
construction and inspection team, but the passive language
sometimes created misunderstandings.
