Week 4/ Sesi 5
Group 9
1) Hannifin CNG Fuel Dispensers needs to purchase replacement equipment to streamline one of its
production lines for a new contract but may sell the equipment before its expected life is reached
at an estimated market value for used equipment. Hannifin CNG Fuel Dispensers perlu membeli
At MARR = 15% per year, select the better option using a future worth analysis over (a) the
expected usage period, and (b) the maximum life, when the salvage values are expected to be
50% of the market values for used equipment. Are the selections the same for both plans?
Tabel 2. Alternatif Pilihan
Note: Tambahkan nomor kelompok saudara pada besarnya interest rate / rate
return yang ditentukan. Misal (kelompok 2, rate = 6% + 2% = 8%)
Kelompok 9, rate = 6% + 9% = 24%
Option D E
first cost -$ 620.000 -$ 770.000
AOC -$ 15.000 -$ 21.000
expected market value $ 8.000 $ 10.000
expected use (years) 3 6
max life (years) 4 8
2) A chemical engineer is considering two sizes of pipes for moving distillate from a
refinery to the tank farm. A small pipeline will cost less to purchase (including valves
and other appurtenances), but will have a high head loss and, therefore, a higher pumping
cost.
Which pipe size is more economical at an interest rate of 1% per month on the basis of
an annual worth analysis? Assume the salvage value is 10% of the first cost for each
pipeline at the end of the 10-year project! Ukuran pipa mana yang lebih ekonomis
dengan tingkat bunga 1% per bulan berdasarkan analisis nilai tahunan? Asumsikan
ditentukan. Misal (kelompok 2, salvage value = 10% + 2% = 12%)
Kelompok 9, rate = 10% + 9% = 19%
Option A B
First cost -$ 1,7 juta -$ 2,1 juta
Operation cost (month) -$ 12.000/month -$ 8.000/month
Operation cost (years) $ 144.000 $ 96.000
n (years) 10 10
i (% years) 1% 1%
Salvage Value 19% 19%
Untuk Pipa A:
FV(A) = FV(i%,n,,P)
FV(A) = $1.875.223,47
PV(A) = $876.703,79
FV(B) = FV(i%,n,,P)
FV(B) = $1.833.446,24
