This study aims to determine changes in social life and changes in income and economic life of farm
workers after the existence of PT Lonsum Balombessie.
The population in this study were 150 rubber farm laborers who were scattered in Jawi-jawi Village,
Bulukumpa District, Bulukumba Regency. Determination of informants in this study using purposive
sampling technique (deliberately) by taking as many 15 people rubber laborers with the
consideration that the informants are people who live in the area of the rubber plantation company
PT Lonsum Balombessie.
The results showed that the impact of the existence of the rubber plantation company PT Lonsum
Balombessie on the social economy of farm workers before and after the company was able to
increase the provision of educational facilities, housing, and public facilities and other supporting
infrastructure. There are job opportunities that increase income and improve living facilities for farm
workers.
