PENERAPAN KESELAMATAN PASIEN BEDAH (SURGICAL PATIENT SAFETY) FASE
TIME OUT DI RUANG INSTALASI BEDAH SENTRAL (IBS) RSUD dr. ZAINOEL ABIDIN
BANDA ACEH TAHUN 2023
ABSTRAK

Keselamatan pasien menjadi salah satu dimensi dalam mutu pelayanan kesehatan sebagaimana yang
dipaparkan oleh Institute of Medicine. Survei terbaru tahun 2017 ditemukan sekitar 21% pasien
memiliki pengalaman kesalahan medis. Sebuah penelitian dilakukan di 11 rumah sakit dari 5 negara
terdapat 52 insiden patient safety yaitu Hongkong 31%, Australia 25%, India 23%, Amerika 12% dan
Kanada 10%. Data insiden keselamatan pasien di Indonesia tahun 2007, sebanyak 145 insiden DKI
Jakarta yang menempati urutan tertinggi yaitu 37,9 %, sedangkan di Aceh 1,07%. Pembedahan
merupakan salah satu tindakan medis yang penting dalam pelayanan kesehatan. Surgical Safety
Checklist adalah sebuah daftar periksa untuk memberikan pembedahan yang aman dan berkualitas
bagi pasien serta merupakan alat komunikasi untuk keselamatan pasien yang digunakan oleh tim
profesional di ruang operasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan
dengan kepatuhan perawat dalam penerapan surgical patient safety fase time out di ruang IBS Rumah
Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Pemerintah Aceh. Jenis penelitian bersifat kuantitatif dengan
metode korelatif, dengan pendekatan cross sectional study. Jumlah populasi 93 orang perawat. Teknik
pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling sebanyak 93 orang. Alat pengumpulan data yaitu kuesioner
dengan cara ukur angket. Waktu dan tempat penelitian dilakukan pada 1 s/d 5 Juli 2019 di IBS Rumah
Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Pemerintah Aceh. Hasil analisa data secara bivariat
menunjukkan ada hubungan antara pengetahuan perawat dengan dalam penerapan surgical patient
safety fase time out dengan nilai (p=0,000), masa kerja, (p=0,003), serta motivasi (p=0,06).
Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan, masa kerja dan motivasi berhubungan dengan
kepatuhan perawat dalam penerapan surgical patient safety fase time out di ruang IBS Rumah Sakit
Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Pemerintah Aceh. Diharapkan kepada seluruh perawat yang
bertugas di IBS Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin Pemerintah Aceh untuk lebih
meningkatkan kepatuhannya dalam hal safety pasien untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan
keperawatan.

FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH NURSES’ ADHERENCE IN IMPLEMENTING PATIENT

SAFETY IN SURGICAL TIME OUT PHASE IN IBS ROOM OF dr. ZAINOEL ABIDIN
PUBLIC HOSPITAL IN 2023

ABSTRACT

Patient safety is one of the elements in measuring the quality of health services as explained by the
Institute of Medicine. The latest survey in 2017 indicates that 21% of the patients have experienced
medical errors. A research conducted in eleven hospitals in five countries has recorded the incidents
related to patient safety including in Hong Kong (31%), Australia (25%), India (23%), United States
(12%), and Canada (10%). In 2007, there were 145 incidents in Indonesia with Jakarta in the first
place (37.9%) while Aceh got 1.07%. Surgery is one of crucial medical treatments in health service,
and a surgical safety checklist consisting of safe and quality steps of a surgery as well as a
communication tool used by a professional team in a surgery room is important The purpose of this
research was to identify the factors associated with nurses’ adherence in implementing patient safety,
especially in surgical time out phase in IBS Room of dr. Zainoel Abidin Public Hospital of Banda
Aceh. This quantitative research was conducted with a correlative method and a cross-sectional study
approach. A number of 93 nurses were chosen as the samples by using a total sampling technique.
The data were collected by using a questionnaire from July 1 to 5, 2019 in IBS Room of dr. Zainoel
Abidin Public Hospital of Banda Aceh. The results of univariate and bivariate data analyses show that
the nurses’ knowledge (p=0.000), years of service (p=0.003), and motivation (p=0.06) were correlated
to the implementation patient safety, especially in surgical time out phase. Hence, it is suggested that
the medical workers develop their adherence regarding the patient safety in order to enhance the
quality of nursing care.
