“Sistem keamanan tidak ada pada runtuhnya Powerl Trench. Berbagai persyaratan harus dipenuhi untuk menggali
parit sedalam 1.5 meter atau lebih dengan aman. Penggunaan Trench Shiled/Box adalah salah satu persyaratannya.
Trench box dapat mencegah keruntuhan tanah.- perwakilan dari Administrasi Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja
(OSHA).

Penyebab umum runtuhnya galian parit antara lain:

▪ Kemiringan slope dinding yang tidak tepat
▪ Banjir/genangan hujan.
▪ Tanah yang tidak Stabil.
▪ Kelalaian.

Standar OSHA 1926.651 mengharuskan semua galian parit sedalam 1,5 m atau lebih menggunakan salah satu sistem pelindung berikut:
▪ Membuat Slope (kemiringan) pada dinding galian parit
▪ Membuat Bench (terasering)
▪ Menopang dinding parit dengan shoring hidrolik dan;atau support-lain nya
▪ Menggunakan Trench Box

DC/2019/07 Cheung Chau Sewage Treatment

Client: Build King

Location: Hong Kong
Products: Tubeshor

This 56x27m excavation was constructed with 4 layers of

tubeshor basement propping. Key features were unsup-
ported spans in excess of 30m, screw jack end fittings that
allowed fine length adjustments and flat jack pre-loading of
up to 20 struts per day.
Combined these features have saved the contractor weeks
of installation time against a tight construction schedule.

Location: London

Burnout Pack
A re-development of a sloping site in Croydon, required
a contiguous pile retaining wall on the two uphill sides to
allow the site to be excavated safely.
Altrad RMD Kwikform supplied its hybrid hydraulic tubular
shoring system, Tubeshor which suited the needs of the
project due to the systems unrivalled axial load capacity and
high axial stiffness.

DC/2018/03 Sha Tau Kok Sewerage

Treatment Works Phase 1
Client: Build King
Location: Hong Kong
Products: Tubeshor
Tubeshor struts were provided here due to rising steel
costs and a lack of available manpower during the covid
pandemic.
Four layers of struts replaced traditional structural steel
saving the contractor months on their schedule due to the
speed of installation on site and reduced welding and king
post installation requirements.

HY/2018/02 Central Kowloon Route - Kai Tai

East
Client: Good Mind Engineering, APYJV
Location: Hong Kong
Products: Tubeshor
For construction of a cut and cover tunnel on the Central
Kowloon Route, RMD provided 2 different sizes of Tubeshor
struts to span the 25m opening.
As no intermediate king post support was required, the
tunnel could be constructed much faster, with RMD struts
themselves installed in less than 2 days.

Segrow Park
Client: Euro-City Eastern
Location: London, Heathrow
Products: Tubeshor 230 + GeoBrace 254 & 550
We supported Euro-City Eastern with the build of a
temporary cofferdam in which two 70,000-litre grease
trap tanks were to be installed. The temporary cofferdam,
measuring 20m long, 8.2m wide and 4.3m deep, was
subjected to high lateral loads, requiring a robust and
secure support system to retain the ground. In addition,
as the cofferdam was located near to the main structure,
the excavation was also subject to high water table levels,
which contributed to the increased loads and made for
challenging on-site conditions. To support the cofferdam,
we provided our 320 Tubeshor hybrid shoring system in
conjunction with our GeoBrace 254 & 550.

ND/2019/01 Kwu Tung (N) New Development

Phase 1
Client: Time Concept
Location: Hong Kong
Products: Geobrace + Megashor

Geobrace walers and megashor struts have been used to

support 7km of deep drainage trenches.
The client is getting 100% reuse from their equipment and
has no requirement for hot works during installation.
The pinned joint connections also allow easy adjustment to
changing trench directions using only standard equipment.

Pumping Station

Location: Beverley, Yorkshire

The construction of a new pumping station to alleviate

flood risks to a new housing development in Beverly,
East Yorkshire. In order to excavate the 14.8m by 10.6m
cofferdam, Altrad RMDK provided its 390 and 550 Geobrace
system combined with its Tubeshor 610 props. These
products provided the optimum solution to support pre-
driven interlocked sheet piles. The complimentary Tubeshor
range was used to provide corner knee bracing which
maximised the clear open areas within the excavation.

Torwood Street
Client: 4D Structures
Location: Torquay
Products: Tubeshor 610
Altrad RMD Kwikform supplied 8no Tubeshor 610 raking
props to support a new con-tig basement wall.
The props were angled in two planes both horizontally and
vertically so we were able to utilise our weldable stub end
component to achieve this orientation.

Kong Nga Po
Client: Chung Shing Construction Engineering Ltd
Location: Hong Kong

Geobrace walers and megashor struts used to support 6.5m

deep trenches for a new drainage system.
Speed of installation and a huge amount of additional safety
features proved to be the deciding factors for this client to
move away from traditional ELS installation.
