 Pengertian
Bakteriologi merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari kehidupan dan klasifikasi bakteri , struktur
anatomi sel bakteri, cara kerja sel bakteri, interaksi antarsel bakteri, dan juga tanggapan

bakteri terhadap perubahan pada lingkungan hidupnya .

Bahasa latin: bacterium kelompok raksasa dari organisme hidup.

1. Membran sel
Tersusun atas lemak dan protein, bersifat
semipermeable , berfungsi untuk mengatur
keluar masuknya zat ke dalam sel. 
2. Sitoplasma
Merupakan tempat berlangsungnya reaksi metabolik. 
3. Nucleoid (DNA)
Untuk mengontrol sintesis protein dan pembawaan sifat.

4. Flagella (Cambuk Besar)
Berfungsi utk bergerak, flagel melekat pada
membran luar di dinding sel. 
5. Ribosom
Tersusun atas protein dan RNA, sebagai tempat
sintesis protein.
5. Mesosom
Terbentuk dari membran sel yg tidak membentuk lipatan.
Organel ini berfungsi sbg tempat pemisahan dua molekul
DNA dan berperan juga dalam pembentukan dinding sel baru
antara kedua sel anak tersebut.

 MACAM-MACAM BAKTERI
 Berdasarkan sumber oksigen yang diperlukan dalam proses respirasi, bakteri
dikelompokan sebagai berikut:
1. Bakteri aerob yaitu bakteri yang menggunakan oksigen bebas dalam proses
respirasinya. Misal: Nitrosococcus, Nitrosomonas dan Nitrobacter.
2. Bakteri anaerob yaitu bakteri yang tidak menggunakan oksigen bebas dalam
proses respirasinya. Misal: Streptococcus lactis
