Tumbuhan adalah salah satu dari klasifikasi

makhluk hidup. Tumbuhan memiliki klorofil atau
zat hijau daun yang memiliki fungsi sebagai media
untuk menciptakan sebuah makanan dan sebagai
proses berfotosintesis.
OBAT TRADISIONAL

▹ Obat Tradisional adalah bahan atau ramuan

bahan yang berupa bahan tumbuhan, bahan 3

hewan, bahan mineral, sediaan sarian

(galenik) atau campuran dari bahan tersebut
yang secara turun temurun telah digunakan
untuk pengobatan berdasarkan pengalaman
(BPOM, 2014).
▹ Ciri dari obat tradisional yaitu bahan bakunya
masih berupa simplisia yang sebagian besar
belum mengalami standardisasi dan belum
pernah diteliti. Bentuk sediaan masih sederhana
berupa serbuk, pil, seduhan atau rajangan 4

simplisia, klaim kahsiatnya masih berdasarkan

data empiris.

▹ Obat tradisional sendiri dibagi menjadi tiga yaitu,

jamu, obat herbal terstandar dan fitofarmaka.
(Anggraeni dkk, 2015).
JAMU
▹ Jamu (emperical based herbal
medicine) adalah obat tradisonal
yang disediakan secara tradisional

yang berisi seluruh bahan

tanaman yang menjadi penyusun
jamu tersebut higienis (bebas
cemaran) serta digunakan secara
tradisional.
▹ Pemanfaatan jamu untuk pengobatan sangat
banyak jenisnya. Manfaat jamu yang sering
diminati oleh masyarakat yaitu jamu untuk
menghilangkan pegal-pegal dan nyeri. Contoh
jamu yang bermanfaat sebagai obat pegal- 6

pegal dan anti nyeri yaitu jamu kunyit asam.

Jamu ini selain sebagai obat pegal-pegal dan
nyeri juga dapat sebagai ramuan penghilang
bau badan dan mengatasi sakit saat
menstruasi (Hartati dan Balittro, 2013).
OBAT HERBAL
Merupakan obat tradisional

yang disajikan dari hasil
ekstraksi atau penyarian bahan
alam, baik tanaman obat,
binatang, maupun mineral.
 Fitofarmaka
▹ Merupakan obat tradisional yang dapat
disejajarkan dengan obat modern. Proses
pembuatannya telah terstandar dan
ditunjang oleh bukti ilmiah sampai uji klinis 8

pada manusia. Karena itu, dalam

pembuatannya diperlukan peralatan
bertehnologi modern, tenaga ahli, dan
biaya yang tidak sedikit.(Suharmiati at
al.2000).
