Mata terdiri dari 3 tunika yaitu :

Tunika Fibrosa
Lapisan tunika paling luar dan keras dari mata atau yang biasa disebut juga
dengan corneo-scleral layer
Tunika Vaskulosa
Lapisan yang berpigmen dan mempunyai pembuluh darah atau yang biasa
disebut dengan uveal layer
Tunika Nervosa atau Retina
Lapisan penyusun bagian dalam

Tunika Fibrosa

Terdiri dari sklera dan kornea

Sklera
Berwarna opaque
Terdiri dari serat kolagen interkalaris tipe I dengan serat
elastik
Kornea
Bagian anterior yang menonjol dan berwarna transparan
Epitel kornea terdiri dari 5 lapisan yang berbeda diantaranya :
Bowman's membrane
Stroma
Descemet's membrane
Corneal endothelium

Epitel gepeng berlapis tanpa lapisan tanduk
 Terdiri dari 5-7 lapis sel

Tunika Vaskulosa

Terdiri dari 3 bagian :

Koroid
the pigmented posterior portion of the middle vascular
tunic, is loosely attached to the sclera and separated from
the retina by Bruch's membrane

Glassy (Bruchs) membrane
Badan siliari
wedge-shaped portion of the choroid located in the lumen
of the orb between the iris and the vitreous body and
projecting toward the lens
prosesus siliaris

Iris
anterior extension of the choroid, is a contractile
diaphragm that controls the pupillary aperture
Lensa
Dua bagian cembung yang transparan
Memfokuskan sinar cahaya ke retina
Badan Vitreous
transparent, refractile gel that fills the cavity of the eye
(vitreous cavity) behind the lens. It is composed mostly
(99%) of water
