RESUME

Leo Wibisono Arifin merupakah peraih gelar Mahasiswa Berprestasi Institut

Pertanian Bogor 2011, lahir di Mataram,25 April 1991 sebagai anak tunggal dari
pasangan Loo Wan Chin dan Tan Kee Ping. Leo menyelesaikan pendidikan dasarnya
di Taiwan sebagai lulusan terbaik dari Jimei Guoji HuaXaio. Pendidikan
menengahnya ditempuh di Gweneville Christian School Walonggong,Australia.
Selama hidup di Australia, Leo berhasil meraih Star Award dari pemerintah New
South Wales atas prestasinya sebagai salah satu siswa internasional yang memiliki
prestasi eksepsional di bidang matematika dan sains.
Pada tahun 2004, Leo kembali ke Indonesia. Terpilih sebagai Siswa Teladan
Kota Mataram pada tahun 2004 dan 2005 merupakan prestasi awal yang dicetaknya
setelah kembali ke tanah air. Di tahun 2004,Leo memperoleh ijazah sekolah
menengahnya dengan nilai sangat memuaskan dari SMPN 2 Mataram dan kemudian
melanjutkan studinya di SMAN 1 Mataram. Saat SMA, Leo banyak aktif di dunia
pemikiran kritis dan sains. Leo terpilih selama 2 tahun berturut-turut sebagai
pembicara terbaik provinsi NTB dan dikirim sebagai wakil Indonesia pada ajang
Asian School Debate Championship di NTU,Singapura. Leo juga merupakan anggota
pelatihan tahap 1 internasional Olimpiade Sains Biologi di ITB Bandung setelah 2
kali mewakili provinsinya dalam Olimpiade Sains Nasional.
Tahun 2007,Leo diterima di Departemen Ilmu dan Teknologi Pangan IPB
lewat jalur USMI. Hingga saat ini Leo tercatat sebagai salah satu peraih IPK tertinggi
dan mahasiswa termuda di jurusannya. Leo memiliki minat yang besar dalam bidang
musik, bahasa, dan travelling. Leo meraih penghargaan dari Mandarin Education
Center sebagai pemegang profisiensi Bahasa Mandarin Level 7 atau merupakan level
yang setara dengan penutur bahasa asli. Kemampuan bahasanya juga diapresiasi oleh
British Council dengan nilai IELTS 7.5 dan TOEFL 600.
Selain menguasai 2 bahasa Internasional,Leo memiliki kemampuan yang baik
dalam memahami bahasa daerah khususnya Bahasa Sasak sebagai bahasa daerah
NTB. Di bidang musik,Leo piawai bermain piano, belajar piano secara otodidak,Leo
melakukan konser pertamanya di usia 14 tahun dengan membawakan lagu Ballad
Pour Adelline dan Les Reves du Matin dengan sempurna pada ajang Yamaha Music
Festival 2004 di Sheraton Hotel Senggigi. Selain itu Leo merupakan peraih Grand
Champion pada Australian Choir Festival 2002 di Melbourne. Hobi travellingnya
telah mengantar Leo mengunjungi 10 negara, termasuk kota-kota besar di Asia dan
Australia. Impiannya saat ini adalah bisa bersafari di tanah Afrika dan keliling
Indonesia.
 Selama menempuh pendidikan di IPB,Leo aktif di IPB Debating Community
(IDC) sebagai pengurus utama. Banyak gelar bergengsi yang telah diraihnya bersama
IDC IPB diantaranya Pembicara terbaik dalam Polinela Debate Championship
Bandar Lampung dan Agribusiness Debate 2009, Novice Champion dalam ajang
Indonesian Varsity English Debate Championship (IVED) 2011 di Makassar. Leo
juga sering berperan aktif sebagai juri utama di kompetisi debat lokal maupun
nasional. Saat ini Leo adalah wakil IPB dalam ajang United Asian Debate
Championship 2011 di Macao-China dan World University Debate Championship
2011 di De La Salle University,Filipina.
Ke depannya,Leo bercita-cita menjadi diplomat pangan yang mampu
mengakomodasi kepentingan bangsa Indonesia di mata internasional. Untuk
mengejar cita-citanya ini, Leo aktif terlibat dalam kegiatan Model United Nations
untuk mengasah kemampuan negosiasi dan diplomasinya. Leo merupakan peserta
World Model United Nations 2011 di Singapura dan merupakan kandidat untuk
menjadi wakil IPB dalam The European International Model United Nations di Den
Haag,Belanda. Di kala senggangnya Leo suka menghabiskan waktunya dengan
bermain tenis, menulis, dan membaca komik.

send Indonesian youth to join a cultural camp during winter in China. The objective of
this event is to promote mutual understanding between Indonesia and China, also to

2.The member of Indonesian Exchange Student to Chiba-Japan 2006. This program is
sponsored by Japanese goverment, the duration of this program is 2-6 months. (Chiba
and Tokyo, Japan)
