Geospatial Data Analysis in Russia’s Geoweb
Mykola Makhortykh, 2021
• Sejumlah lembaga resmi Rusia menyediakan data mereka melalui portal online, seperti Russian Open Data Portal (RODP)
(data.gov.ru) atau Open Data Portal of Moscow City Government (data.mos.ru) (Bundin dan Martynov 2015). ; Koznov dkk.
2016; Repponen 2018).
• Many foreigners consider Russian serving staff to be impolite due to the fact that
salesmen and clerks don’t smile to the customers. This however shouldn’t be viewed as
impoliteness – …, smile in Russian communication isn’t connected with the category of
politeness.
• One shouldn’t smile and laugh being among people who have difficult problems (say,
with their own health or that of their relatives)
• In Russian communication smile is not a sign of politeness.
• Russians do not smile at people whom they do not know. This is one of the reasons why
salesgirls in Russia do not smile at customers – they don’t know them.
• Kids at school are not allowed to smile at lessons – they should be serious because it is
their work. The most common reprimand of teachers in Russian schools is “Don’t smile –
write!”
• It should be noted, however, that in spite of the fact that Russians usually do not smile in
everyday life, they are not gloomy, but usually merry, cheerful and witty.
