4. By the end of the lesson, Students are expected to be able to create a dialog
which used the expression of asking and giving.
5. By the end of the lesson, Students are expected to be able to compose simple
spoken transactional texts by using passive sentences properly.

 Asking Opinion

Asking opinion means "to ask for an opinion". Asking opinion is used when you want
to ask or need the opinion of others.

 Giving Opinion

If above we learned about asking for opinions, now we will see how to give opinions or
giving opinions. Before expressing the opinion or idea that is on your mind, you must
know how to start the right sentence. So that other people can easily understand your
opinion.

Utami : Our headmaster wanted us to improve and increase the quality of our
English club. What do you think, Krisna?
Krisna : Well. I think so. We should be able to do that.
Utami : So what should we do?
Krisna : I think that we have to improve our syllabus. It must be more relevant
to English.
Utami : That's a great idea. But don't forget. I think it is not only that. We
should also know the student's needs, because we handle different
levels and wishes.
Utami : Yes, I know that. Thank you. And then do we need new instructors
here?

Questioning 60 minutes
1) The teacher provides opportunities for students
to ask questions related to the video that shown
by the teacher.
2) Teachers give the answer of student questions.

Collecting Information
1. Students together with teacher identify and
discuss the expression of asking and giving
opinion that used in the example.
2. The teacher will give the example of text about
the expression of asking and giving opinion by
sharescreen or send it through WhatsApp group.
3. Students read an example of text about asking
and giving opinion.
4. Students analyze and collect the data about the
structure of a text involving the expression of
asking and giving opinion.

1. Students are asked to do a quiz to check their

1. The teacher will divide the students to work in
groups through the breakout room.

Asking and Giving Opinion

An opinion is a view or judgment formed about something, which is not necessarily


based on fact or knowledge. In our daily life, especially in our interactions with other
people, there are times when we have to talk about opinions, that is to tell, ask, agree, or
disagree with other people's opinions.

 Asking Opinion

Asking opinion means "to ask for an opinion". Asking opinion is used when you want
to ask or need the opinion of others.

 Giving Opinion

If above we learned about asking for opinions, now we will see how to give opinions or
giving opinions. Before expressing the opinion or idea that is on your mind, you must
know how to start the right sentence. So that other people can easily understand your
opinion.
