ABSTRACT
Corn is an annual plant whose life cycle lasts for 80 - 150 days. Corn seed
is the part of the plant that contains carbohydrates and most of the starch is
stored in the endosperm. Drying is the process of removing water or separating
relatively small amounts of water from materials using heat energy. Storage of
materials requires drying in order to last a long time. Drying aims to reduce the
water content to a certain extent so as to extend the shelf life. Quality
requirements of 14% water content in order to be durable and not damaged due
to the growth of fungus on the material. Moisture content is one of the physical
properties of a material that indicates the amount of water it contains. The Rack-
Type Drying Machine has 11 racks that use a 120-watt light bulb heater. Data
analysis in the form of temperature, Rh, rate and changes in water content.
