B. Tujuan pembelajaran
Pertemuan 1
Setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL), serta
group discussion, peserta didik diharapkan dapat:
1. Mengidentifikasi ungkapan keakraban yang lazim digunakan dalam surat pribadi dengan tepat dan
sesuai konteks.
2. Menganalisis fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan beberapa teks khusus dalam bentuk
surat pribadi dengan tepat dan sesuai konteks.
C. Materi Pembelajaran
Personal Letters
Personal Letters are letters that are written to people we know such as friends, parents. Siblings, and
cousins. Letters are not only written to inform but to strengthen the bond between two people writing to
each other.

F. Kegiatan Pembelajaran

Greetings It is acceptable to be informal such as “ Assalamu’alaikum”, “Hi” or “Hello”
Introduction The opening of the letter usually starts with “how are you?”, “Hope this letter finds
you……”, “Thank you for your last letter” or “refers to previous letter”.
Body The main part of the letter. It includes what you want to write to the other person.
Closure The part indicates the letter is going to end.
Exampe; I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

I am waiting for a quick reply.

Complimentary Short expression like “Wassalamu’alaikum”, “yours’, “with love”, “sincerely yours”,
close “all the love”, “all the best”, “affectionately”, “much love”.) or this can call closing.
Signature Signature or initials of the writer.
Postscript This is usually use if you need to add an extra message in your letter. This is written
(P.S.) underneath your name at the bottom of your letter.

Get well letter : Written to show sympathy, written to anyone close, when

Congratulations letter : Written to congratulate someone on his/her birth, wedding,
achievement or award.
Thank you letter : Written to show your appreciation/gratitude to someone.
Love letter : Written to show your love or care for someone.
